The thing is,if he wants to criticise Wolves riders(and he has done ,also saying Douglas and Flint can't ride Monmore) then he should put his comments on the Wolves thread,just to see what reaction he gets from his fellow fans.(That's if he supports Wolves)...It has f... all to do with Peterborough.7 points

Can I just personally thank the management at both Ipswich and Peterborough for delaying their team announcements for so long. If everything had been cut and dried by the end of 2022 this forum would have been as dead as a door nail! It's given us all something to read during the long winter days/nights so more of the same next year please.3 points

I don’t think for one minute that anyone would suggest PC illness had no effect on his wellbeing BUT I can not and will not accept that should excuse his disgraceful behaviour at the book signing and his disrespectful treatment of Mr Casey who actually bought his book only to have defaced with an insulting message. PC issue was with BV not with Mr Casey!3 points

I am a big fan of Chris Holder, chatted to him at the play off final meeting, my daughter used to a big fan too, probably for different reasons!! I was at that particular meeting at Kings Lynn and if I was a Kings Lynn fan, I would also be appalled and disgusted by their actions that night and I don't blame Buster for being unforgiving especially as all our team didn't seem to have any issues with the track including Jack Holder.2 points

He ends up looking like a d!ck because instead of a well worded statement, he’s sabotaged the launch of the new team colours out of spite and comes across as totally unprofessional. He’s got every right to feel aggrieved but have some respect. I never really liked Holder when he was at world champion standard but have grown to quite like him over the last couple of seasons in Poland - but you see things like this and remember why I disliked him before.2 points

Two sides to every story. Buster gave Holder a job after Poole dumped him because of a high average.. He let Buster down the fans down, his team mates and himself down that night. He didn't give a toss. For all we know MT might of agreed with Holder( as i believe he has a connection with him) without clearing it with the owner . If that is the case then Buster hasn't done nothing wrong. Who would employ a person that acted like Holder did for a second time?. If Buster did agree then said no, then i get why people might be miffed off..2 points

Excellent lunch at the King's Oak today to celebrate the 95th anniversary of speedway in this country. I found myself sitting between Bert Harkins and Jim McMillan with Len Silver on the same table. Len, who is 91, was in great form with plenty of stories and anecdotes. The after-dinner speaker, who gave an illustrated history of High Beech, was good too!2 points

Also, this will probably be an unpopular opinion but... IF Ipswich do sign Emil (let's face it, many of us would travel to watch him, even across the whole country) would it not make sense to line him up at number 3 and Danny King at 5. Danny ain't a TERRIBLE number 5 compared to others, so should be capable of winning races in that position, particularly at home, however, lining Emil up at 3 means that Jason and Emil will be split up throughout the meeting (disregarding Heat 15 obviously). This means that there will be 8 races with at least one of Jason or Emil in, so there's 8 chances of heat victories rather than just 7 if both were in heat 13, I'd rather see Danny King coming in second behind Jason in Heat 13 rather than Emil, spreading the heat victories as much as possible seems sensible? 1. Having read the SCB statement dated 7th February I can see it being possible that both Sittingbourne and Plymouth tell the BSPL that either they are allowed to have the NORA and BSPL racing at the track or the BSPL can get lost and the only racing will be NORA sanctioned. If that happens then the BSPL will have shot themselves in the foot and that will open up the possibility that Mildenhall would jump ship which would practically destroy the NDL. Personally I hope that both leagues exist side by side and that both are successful as that is good for the sport and the more tracks that are successfully running increases interest in the sport. You only have to look back to the 1960s and the effect the Provincial League had on the sport leading to far more tracks opening.2 points

Think the biggest reason you lost was the non performance of your number 1 at the NSS, weve had bad luck in all our finals and suffered some controversal decisions but still lost with good grace, we even lost two riders last season one a Sheffield track specialist so bringing in a replacement for Max with a lesser average which was within the rules was good management, wasnt there some debate on the signing of Kerr at the time too?1 point

The commentary was by dick bott . Who was also Peter Collins manager and wrote for various national newspapers. That race was definitely the greatest race ever . I have followed belle vue for 65 years seen speedway all over the world . The other thing I remember about that night is my dad had his car stolen . We kept ringing the police to ask if they had found it but they kept saying no.. I had to go past Gorton police station and my dad's car was parked outside. The police were no better in the good old days.1 point

As far as I can see, the SCB has no power whatsoever to decide who benefits and who does not from the SRBF. I would be very surprised if the charity that runs the fund, the beneficiaries (ie the riders) and those who donate (substantially but not entirely the paying fans) would agree with the SCB's view.1 point

I am not absolutely certain of this but I believe the SCB has a monopoly on 'speedway' events in this country. Its why the Isle of Wight termed their meetings for the last couple of seasons as 'dirt track'. The wording could therefore be important if not decisive. What you have quoted - I haven't seen the article - sounds very much like a restraint of trade which is, based upon case law, illegal. It won't be the first time that the SCB has tried to enforce something that they know won't stand up and from which they will back away from at the first sign of litigation (the attempt to bar Scott Nicholls riding Championship springs to mind). What they are doing, in no uncertain terms, is blackmail. Its a high stakes game, however, because the potential loss of 2 more tracks (reducing the number of stand alones to just 17) would be disastrous and they well know it. The statement 'part as friends' is so absolutely insincere and false the mind boggles, but then that sums the SCB up. (Apologies for the thread nap).1 point

Yeah Sam struggles on the big tracks, only managed a combined 35+6 from 3 meetings at Belle Vue last year, shocking!!!! All this rubbish about Sam not being a proper No 1 is complete BS1 point

This is the tip of an iceberg speedway (and every other 'extreme' sport) must face in future. The ban on motorsport in Ulster will force all branches of all disciplines to look hard at their control procedures and all forms of insurance for activities. The ACU/SCB would be remiss if they did not take every prudent step to protect their product, ensure their licences allow speedway in the rest of the UK to continue under properly-controlled, legally-insured conditions.1 point

Masters is absolutely superb around Foxhall. Lowered Doyle’s colours twice in one meeting last year, nobody else could manage that. He’ll be a big danger man again when Wolves visit.1 point

I can't remember where I read it (maybe in a Speedway Star) but Danny Phillips was hyping up the Bullets as play-off contenders. Naturally he's going to say something positive like that, as no-one signs for a club planing to do poorly. But I do feel he's gravely mistaken & that Berwick will be nearer the bottom than top. Built to just over 40 points, which means they need to put 2 points on their averages, just to be a mid table side. I honestly don't see much potential for riders to up their averages. The league certainly looks stronger than last year. Coles is a good number one, but rode at 3 last year, so by adding heat 13 to his races, if he keeps his average, he'll be doing well. Ditto for Blair, had a great season, but at the easier number 4 for half the season. Phillips is an acceptable 3rd heat leader. Freeman showed so much potential for Newcastle & Armadale I expected a lot more from him last season. Now out of the reserve berth, it's tougher. Like Coles I think he can improve (by keeping his average). The bottom 3 all have the potential to improve, but I see that as a slow & steady rise up the ranks, which is where they will miss Luke Harrison! So on the whole, the team doesn't look bad. But if you have 6 or 7 strong looking teams & 1 or 2 average looking teams, they'll be near the bottom. If I was a Berwick fan, I'd just be happy you're getting to see lots of Speedway in 2023. More matches than Glasgow & Redcar (not to mention Newcastle).1 point
