Don't be taken in by the haters, Roy is a master of his art and I would imagine he is the first person recruited every year. There have been meetings when he's been absent and the atmosphere was subdued. Honestly some people have no sense of fun. If you are following this thread Roy keep up the good work, it's such a shame that some people lead such miserable lives that they feel impelled to have a dig at someone who lives life to the full, you are part of the show and the attendances at Redcar speak volumes5 points

Seen it before I'm afraid! It takes a lot to change it around. I stand by my opinion when the signing was announced. What were they thinking??!4 points

In fairness he had a pretty poor 2022 all round, he already looks like a different rider this season. Very shrewd signing for a month.4 points

I do and going by the M8 between Edinburgh and Glasgow so do plenty others4 points

Given it is British Speedway, could Chris Holder sign for both Peterborough and Kings Lynn? Same bloke in charge of both so technically some synergy to it... Could maybe do a double change and bring in Batch too for both teams... Worth asking Phil Morris?3 points

He's the sort of announcer who makes you long for old age and the sweet release of going deaf... absolutely awful3 points

I think it's a triple header with the 2022 Jubilee Trophy Final and the 4's isn't it?3 points

He (Hancock) did... but I suppose once you commit you look a bit silly if you change your mind2 points

Allit the same person who also celebrated Peterborough’s league win… chaps nothing but a fraud, who has his favourites which are untouchable, probably in the shower with Jorgenson now!2 points

If Nicki P is not returning to Pboro and they are making two changes R Worrall being the other as rumoured I say dump KK and re sign Ritchie asap2 points
-
Sack KK and sign R. Worrall. Easy for Buster to take Richie out of the Panthers 1-7 and place him in the KL 1-7.2 points

It's not like you dont have fair warning with KK is it?. "It depends which KK turns up"... "He could be a steal on that average".... Etc. Etc. Etc.... Until you hear... "Get Chris Holder in"....2 points

Why would you have to explain? As far as a newbie is aware those are the 7 riders, all you need to say is so and so is injured so we need a guest to cover.you can explain exclusions or tacticals but this post is typical of this forum and other sites who jus go to the speedway book of phrases ie...another nail in..a joke.they make it up as they go along I can't imagine a newbie going home saying they can't understand why a guest was allowed in this case as they won't probably know what one is2 points

Very quiet on here from the Poole fans on a home meeting BUT, then again, they are frequenting every body else's threads.2 points

Looks a fairly easy routine home win. 55-35. Early results can often spring a surprise so Lynn fans will be hoping it’s a score reversal!2 points

A guest for a non speedway injury in another country! Try explain that to a new supporter !2 points

It was pretty much business as usual for Pirates who were far from firing on all cylinders. Worrall and Lawson were below par. The Cooks continued on from last season and will only get better. Rowe unsurprisingly had a poor first ride from gate two in heat one but did his job. Kyle was excellent and will get lots of rides while at reserve until the first GS. Roynon was on a 5-1 in heat two but slid off when we’ll clear of the Oxford reserves. For Oxford, Masters looked untouchable until it started to rain and then didn’t want to know. Nicholls was brilliant all night. Heeps did his usual start the season well meeting. Jenkins was woeful but is better than that. Killeen was unlucky when on a 5-1 having an ef then in another ride sliding off when challenging Steve Worrall. Pirates will be at the top end of the league, there’s little doubt. A good crowd last night, and when you consider the forecast and many crying off what it could have been. Think Oxford are in for another successful season crowd wise. Yes there were a lot of Poole fans there swelling it, but good anyway.2 points

That may or may not be the case - I don’t know! BUT who appointed Tomalin and Johnson in the first place? All I do know is if this is to be Panthers last season at the Eoes it’s already looking like a huge disaster after just one meeting which is so terribly sad!!!2 points

Perhaps he is more than justified? Always more than meets the eye in decisions that are made like this.2 points
-
Roynon would have had paid 5 if he hadn't fallen in heat 2. That would be a pretty decent contribution from the weaker reserve away from home.2 points
-
I preferred it when the top 2 averaged riders had to be at 1+5 (either was round), guaranteed the top 4 riders (statistically) would be in heat 13 - good for the fans!2 points

Good luck to young Ace on his first Championship meeting on Friday. Just go out and enjoy the occasion with no pressure it will be a big learning curve for him.2 points

Normal procedure at the late lamented Coventry was for both teams to bring out their bikes and be presented in front of the main stand. When the intros were over, they would all get on their bikes and do as many practice laps as they wanted until the CO (or later Colin Pratt) appeared on-track to signal the end of practice. Usually 5-10 minutes. Strictly no practice starts on the bends or the CO would have your wotsits for garters.2 points

What an awful poster this is. It’s 2023 and people are still running with the “no brakes no fear, fun for all the family” line. Why not go the whole hog and advertise the opening match of the season with two guests too?2 points

I'm going to this one as I didn't go to Oxford because of the weather and it's a sunny bank holiday. My 4 year old's first speedway meeting. Hope she doesn't cause any trouble.1 point

Speedway fans amaze me, not every rider can score 15 point maximums every meeting so in a sport where riders must score 3,2,1,0 you are going to have a lot of different riders at different levels. Jake Allen - injury prone? Isn't injury prone where a rider is regularly on the sidelines or has multiple injuries season in season out? he struggled last season with a broken scaphoid, one of the worst injuries to have while operating a speedway bike, his average as a result suffered as he is not allowed to work in the UK, he only has a racing VISA, so if you were in this position you'd ride injured to try and earn some money? Inconsistent? Prem Average Champ Average 2022 n/a 6.3 2021 4.8 7.72 2019 5.56 7.33 2018 4.59 7.37 2017 4.99 7.45 2016 n/a 5.96 Championship average slightly up and down between 2017 - 2021, again 2022 season with injury saw an average drop. As for Premiership, between 2017-2019 wasn't bad, 2021 was a difficult season and last season didn't really have a proper team place Why do "some" rate him? like most speedway riders through the years, they could do better or progress more in the sport with better backing or better machinery etc. As we see week in week out Doyle is mustard around Foxhall, remember in 2019 season Jake beating Doyle around Foxhall when riding at no.6 Think with the right support and some luck avoiding injuries he could get back to that 5.5/6 average this season, certainly for me has the beating of Hume & both Thompson twins around Foxhall, and potentially Rew too, so expect him to take 6/7 rides tonight1 point

Belle Vue and Kings Lynn away matches for Wolves in the next 7 days. We'll know more about Nicholls after those 2, we know he's very good at Monmore but he's still a 5 pointer replacing a 7 pointer1 point

28 days for Buster to come to his senses and drop his grudge! He is just hurting Peterborough in the long run more than Chris!1 point

One thing for sure he will find track prep in Poland on a different level.Think might play on his mind given his injuries over the year.1 point
-
his Polish team won't like Nicki taking the chance of getting hurt in the UK, and as their investment is higher than Peterborough i guess they call the shots1 point

Just have a fit for purpose RR facility.. A No1 missing then every rider can take his rides up to all riders taking no more than seven rides in total, meaning, for example, the two remaining HL's could take two rides each, their own four rides, and Ht 15.. For riders lower down the team the riders above and below could take two rides each if the manager wanted.. For a number 7 missing then a No8 comes in for two of his rides and the other reserve takes the other two.. Guests just destroy the sport from ever being taking seriously by media, sponsors and fans, hence Poland would never see them as a "necessary evil"... Not a good starting point to grow the sport when guests are so fundamentally wrong if you wish the sport to be considered relevant...1 point
