Maybe to help out his mate Buster who was left without a no 1. Once he had ridden for the club guests could then be used when he "gave up". On arriving at the Purplecats, he maybe realised all was not well so the crash on a poorly prepared track then gave Nicki / Buster the ideal opportunity needed to leave, all be it quicker than 1st planned. MT silence on the matter speaks volumes imo....

I also think the BSN have done a good job reporting on it and making abit of a story about that. You get nothing of the sorts from the BSPL site and the speedway star.

Ice Hockey thrives on such incidents... In the US they became very focused on losing that image until they got a fan backlash, with the fans wanting such fights to happen, as it added to the spectacle and the intensity of the rivalries.. Speedway clubs willingly share riders with each other virtually every night so making the sport one that generates passionate rivalry will naturally be difficult to achieve, therefore a bit of personal rivalry can add to it..

Responded to a fan's concern (on a specific, not organisational question) via e-mail yesterday so no he hasn't gone. My understanding is that he was unfortunately on leave and it all went a bit pear shaped with him being out of the country.

Yes you can pay on card at the ticket office and their isnt a surcharge. You just pay face value. I have just checked this with Jen the General Manager.

It’s the risk we all take or once took for those of us who no longer have a team to support. Never used to take any notice of what was forecasted, if the meeting was still listed as on, I would check the real time rain radar and make a call from that based on how heavy it was raining, the area it was covering and direction it was heading. A promotion with all the good intentions of trying to run, doesn’t mean it will be able to run or be completed.

Pretty sure that if it's a late call off the home team has to cover all expenses.

Don't take it personally, it's the sport in general that's run in a way that stuck in a bygone era that I'm losing interest in. You'll have seen that in the way that I wrote that comment. I ought to be one of the oldest people in the stadium when I visit a sporting event, and yet at any speedway meeting in Britain, I'm usually in the youngest 10-20%. That should never be right. And sadly, I see little or no effort being made to change that. That said, and as you raised the web site for no apparent reason, the fact that the Brummies now have as a partner, the very person who flicked the switch to shut down the Brummnies web site from his position in the commentary box, on instructions of the sport's establishment, on the day of the play-off's final, is the sort of irony that you couldn't make up.

Well said, unfortunately people don't understand mental health issues, I don't condone what Craig said but as a mental health nurse, I am aware that things can be said and done that people don't have the same control over. Mental health issues are very complex, there is often increased anger and frustration which people find difficult to deal with.

Well, I often walked home from New Cross Speedway and Millwall football ground in the 60's. I never encountered any thieving thugs and honestly never felt threatened in any way on my way home in the dark. It was quite a walk to East Dulwich but I was young and fit and a stop for fish & chips on the way provided some nourishment.
