Well Buster won't get a penny off me going to the bird cage.

Maybe to help out his mate Buster who was left without a no 1. Once he had ridden for the club guests could then be used when he "gave up". On arriving at the Purplecats, he maybe realised all was not well so the crash on a poorly prepared track then gave Nicki / Buster the ideal opportunity needed to leave, all be it quicker than 1st planned. MT silence on the matter speaks volumes imo....

I also think the BSN have done a good job reporting on it and making abit of a story about that. You get nothing of the sorts from the BSPL site and the speedway star.

Ice Hockey thrives on such incidents... In the US they became very focused on losing that image until they got a fan backlash, with the fans wanting such fights to happen, as it added to the spectacle and the intensity of the rivalries.. Speedway clubs willingly share riders with each other virtually every night so making the sport one that generates passionate rivalry will naturally be difficult to achieve, therefore a bit of personal rivalry can add to it..

No one in double figures for the Aces.. A very solid team effort... Rowe will have the beating of most No7's, so worth a permanent spot I would say.. Mulford can then develop via the Championship and NDL..

That's got BV's season going then. Good performances all down the order. Special shout out to Anders Rowe who looks a decent addition in the RS position - can he replace Mulford permanenty?

Weather the home team covers the cost of all riders !! Who covers the cost of the away support.. fans out of pocket again & we wonder why our beloved sport is on the downward spiral in the UK .. but thats the great British weather tho

We.ve all been there I'm sure...travelling to a track only to find that the meeting has been cancellled. I've lost count the number of times I've made a journey in the past and have the meeting postponed at the last minute. However we didn't have the luxury of mobile phones etc in those days to keep us informed whilst making the journey. Speedway fans have always been subjected to poor customer relations and I always recall the "six heat" clause whereby if a meeting ran to that length and was then postponed you didn't get your money back...I'm convinced that it could have been challenged?

And that's a very big part of the problem, very few new attendees not helped by ridiculous rules, bending of the rules, and making it up as you go along all of which simply don't help, another example being the NP situation at P,boro.

This is disgraceful from Pedersen, there must be a way he can be held accountable for this kind of action. Utter contempt for Peterborough speedway and British fans. Absolute a**hole !!

What a load of Boll**** I'm sorry but the Peterborough track is probably the nearest you will get to those he rides on in Poland every week. More to this than meets the eye!

Well that's pretty much all my enthusiam gone. Was all set to go to most of the away matches to make the most of what was probably the final year but f*** it, no point bothering if we're just going to get battered everywhere.

There is a very nice ex Speedway track, recently shaled sat right between Peterborough and Coventry. Just under an hour from each and untapped potential from Northampton. Surprising no one has had a look at Braefield.

The statement is a grim read for any speedway fan, let alone Peterborough supporters. A huge shame.

We need to throw money at Zmarzlik.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of the holder situation, you would have to think after investing a load of money into the club and getting holder lined up to then have that vetoed, followed by his replacement calling it quits after not completing a lap, MT couldn’t really be blamed for walking away.

they are/were both perfectly legal, doesn't mean either of them are correct

When the Aces get dialled in at home they will no doubt kick out plenty of their 15 point plus victories. Similar to Wolves, getting the bonus point should mostly be within their grasp most weeks... When the track gets drier during the warmer weather, and consistent every week during the "peak season" for racing volume, the Aces seem to kick on and deliver larger victory margins... They certainly wont be unhappy with no play offs in October this year I would think as when the track is colder and more damp the scores are often closer.. For me, they do appear one heat leader light and, given the 'number sixes' this year at most tracks, dont look like having any advantage by always having one of their "four second strings" in their tesm at reserve...

...reminds one of the days when some riders added nitro to their fuel and was quite common apparently before it was made illegal.

All too often in British Speedway, you hear reports of tracks not being up to scratch at the beginning of a meeting and riders unhappy with conditions - whether this be poor prep, weather conditions or any other factors. I notice from today’s match at Redcar, riders were given a chance to spend 1 minute out of track according to speedway updates. Before the start of every league match in Poland, every team can nominate 2 riders to go out on track to check out track conditions etc. Why are we not doing this over here? This can help to eliminate a whole host of potential issues on the horizon (like Peterborough the last week with heat 1 and riders not being happy with the exit to turn 2) and give riders a chance to get on track before heat 1. This adds abit of a tactical element too - do you send out your experienced guys to pass on knowledge or send out a junior to get some much needed track time before their first ride? There is no shame in following in the Poles footsteps if it helps to solve problems and benefits the beginning of meetings. How often do we see matches where the first 4 heats are follow the leader around the inside until the track starts to bed in and dirt moves wider? This one seems abit of a non brainer to me and can only be a good thing.

The reason not to do this is juniors are generally used to less dirt and may struggle on a fresh surface This makes a crash more likely which could mean medical delays or fence repairs which actually delay or even jeopardise the main meeting
