Think you are the only one that can interpret that post as gloating. Its actually a sad indictment regards to yourself that you can come to that conclusion.6 points

Scunthorpe is run by Rob Godfrey, chairman of the BSPL who have done everything to make this as difficult as possible for Barry and Martin. I understand your sentiment though, I’ve stopped attending BSPL/SCB events and save my money to go to as many on the Island as possible. This latest ‘stunt’ is quite disgusting. How on earth has Si Kellow landed a fine when he’s had nothing to do with this NORA league, all he’s guilty of doing is leasing the same track that Barry did for his event. There’s no other way now than for some other UK promoters to be brave and pull out of the SCB league next year altogether and join the NORA league with the IOW and run meetings for the fans like the good old days we all remember and enjoyed. Lets hope Sittingbourne and a few others can be tempted. Keep going Barry, there are hundreds of us that applaud and support you. Don’t let them grind you down5 points

Would Paco, being Italian, not have bikes in aitsly already ?4 points

Just a side note to the meeting, looked really a bit shoddy and unprofessional Douglas not being provided with a Kings Lynn race jacket or shirt as a guest, just a duct taped number 5 in his back4 points

Some British fans seem to believe that it's a god given right that all British under 21 riders be in all competitions such as this, no mater how good or bad they are compared to other nations under 21 riders. Who is this Norwegian guy? They say, he must be awful because he's from a country not known for developing speedway riders, must replace him with *insert random British rider who happens to be under the age of 21 here* because clearly all Brits are far superior to everyone else. If they actually took the time to study the under 24 league in Poland, they'd realize just how far the likes of Tom Brennan and Leon Flint need to go to start pushing for places in these types of competitions... I would say on European tracks (Polish tracks) our best hope is actually Anders Rowe, which is why I think it's sensible that the likes of Drew Kemp are chosing to ride Poland over Britain, that is the way to make a name for yourself in the sport these days unfortunately.4 points

If he is injured, and has received treatment or is taking anything - perhaps even advised a rest, don't see the issue with Worrall taking a short holiday, most families have to sacrifice during the season for speedway, if he has had some R&R and comes back firing then happy days3 points

Vadim Tarasenko has just confirmed on Polish TV he is coming to Peterborough soon. My prediction June 1.3 points

They use covers - but if you watch how they put the covers down each week after they have been folded up from the previous week, they turn them upside down, thus depositing all the shale from the previous week onto the dog track to leave a clean surface on top You just can't make it up3 points

To be honest buddy, I fell out of love with speedway years ago. I got fed up with our riders getting injured riding for someone else, leaving us having to use guests or R/R. I came back to the sport after covid to experience it’s now even worse, with everyone pretty much doubling up. I’m just enjoying the Brummies while they are around, if they close I won’t miss speedway. The sport has really lost its spark.3 points

Not sure if we were brilliant or KL crap. Maybe abit of both? Klindt and MPT were trying their hardest. Edwards great ride in heat 4 held his nerve well against a fast Musielak. Holder level above everyone else tonight looked ridiculously fast. So good to see Ellis back at it genuinely looked much smoother, Bellego must be sore was a bad one that. shout out to Dan Gilkes, classy tonight rode well and attacked the track. Can see him only getting better and better3 points

In response to someone posting something irrelevant to this thread and with no apparent sense of humour…………Yes.3 points

Well I didn’t expect that result after last week but very happy from a Bears point of view, much better team effort. Every Bears rider paid for a win and Hume, Mulford and particularly Bailey rode with a determination we hadn’t seen before. 10 points from the bottom 4 last week, 23 paid 26 this week, makes a massive difference. For Glasgow, Basso is spectacular to watch (superb race with Wright) and Pijper looks a cracking young prospect but Harris had a poor meeting and they lacked the second string depth that Poole showed last week. Some great races, much better meeting than last week. Bears have given themselves a good chance but Glasgow are formidable at home and we will need a good performance to go through.2 points

Lol , he did not have concussion , similar to calling him pregnant and giving him 9 months off .2 points

Enjoyed that albeit not the result we wanted but a very good meeting. Redcar have a great setup down there. Well done too the Bears they were very good and well we weren’t , tall order to claw that back but you never know.2 points

to be fair the two juniors were not far off the pace, probably a 5-1 if freddie doesnt make the mistake but it was competitive2 points

Sensible signing to bring in Dan T. I only wonder why it's not a permanent change? Dan had a better average than Stefan last year, plus Stefan hasn't been on form this year.2 points

Pretty sure Paco doesn't trek bikes backwards and forwards between Italy and here every other week! He'll have bikes that he only uses here. Doesn't really answer the question of why he he couldn't of ridden tonight.2 points

Dan Thompson signed as injury cover for Nielsen :- BIRMINGHAM have signed talented teen Dan Thompson as a 28-day injury replacement for Stefan Nielsen. The 19-year-old joins twin brother Joe in the Curtis Sport Brummies’ line-up – who was also snapped up by the Club earlier this month. Nielsen crashed in the recent win at Plymouth and suffered a broken foot. He visited a fracture clinic on Thursday and was told his foot is showing small signs of healing and that no surgery will be required. However, he is facing, approximately, at least another month on the sidelines, forcing Brummies bosses to make their move. Former British Youth Champion Dan Thompson is the rider they have turned to – and team manager Laurence Rogers is backing him to make an impact. “Dan is really, really unfortunate not to have started the season with a team spot in the Championship,” he said. “It’s only the good old Speedway numbers game that forced him out of teams plans I would say due to the fantastic year he had with Leicester in 2022. “He’s come such a long way over the past couple of seasons and this is a big opportunity for him. “It’s a chance for him to come in, hit the ground running and remind everyone just how good he can be at this level - hopefully he can give us a nice little headache! “Stef is doing okay and the news he got from the fracture clinic on Thursday was probably the best he could have hoped for under the circumstances. “We had to sign an injury replacement to cover him in the meantime and we, of course, wish Stef a speedy recovery.”2 points

Not sure Connor at reserve is the answer. He didn’t always look very comfortable when riding at the AFA. Craig Cook would be my choice as he’s capable of winning races home and away. Again it all depends on his mindset but if we could get him in at reserve, that would make us stronger than Connor imho.2 points

Danyon stepping up to make the difference - excellent performance again2 points

Doesn't seem right to be able to drop and replace 2 riders and retain the r/r facility when 1 of those being dropped would fit in that last slot....... Another example of why speedway isn't taken seriously as top line professional sport2 points

Given the demise of hundreds of magazines these days I think speedway is lucky to have a quality magazine out there , regardless of paper quality etc....costs must be high for the return in this online era so fair play to them2 points

The SCB have revoked Kent Royals license and imposed a fine on Kent NL speedway. The revoking of the license is suspended. This apparently is for allowing the recent Nora league amateur meeting to be held at Iwade! Even though it has nothing to do with Kent speedway. How ridiculous is the SCB getting.1 point

Surprised no one started this yet. Surely Redcar fans not too down about last week? The thing Ben Cook is doing is a golf day @Jaizer !! lol. Anyway teams: Parr: No repeat performance! I’m a neutral, I don’t really care! Wouldn’t mind Kilmarnock finishing second bottom, then I might be able to go to both legs of the final final. I’d support the Jags if I was going to that… Although speedway at Ashfield wins over all other sporting events!1 point

If the Sittingbourne promoter has been fined for using the same track as a NORA event then why has Rob Godfrey not been fined as well since he actually runs NORA events? How many other tracks that run BSPL events also run events under NORA? I hope Sittingbourne tell the BSPL to go to hell and help them on their way by suing them for restraint of trade.1 point

One of few decent races tonight across both meetings1 point

Good to see him get up from crash though didn't look like he totally knows where he was1 point

Agree it’s not ideal but that’s what happens when you get team building wrong at the start of the season. Cook when he first came did ok, especially when Lambert took on the pressure of being No 1. All started to go wrong when we got team building wrong (again) and starts at No 1. Thing with Cook is he’s great when his head is on it but a nightmare by all accounts when he’s not happy. If he came in at reserve, sure he’d more than hold his own. My real preference would be a 5.00 newcomer like Kvech but really can’t see that happening.1 point

Well that's because he doesn't ride in Italy every other week. As far as I know he only rides there for the Italian Championship and any other individual meetings he is in that happen to be staged in Italy (like tomorrow's SGP qualifier). Why on earth would he keep a separate set of bikes in Italy? If he could have ridden at Armadale tonight and still been able to ride in Italy tomorrow, then I'm sure he would have.1 point

Maybe Tom has another set of bikes on the continent and just has to fly out, whereas I assume Paco would have to get his bikes from Armadale on Friday night to Lonigo on Saturday, which would not be possible?1 point

Why? He scored 10 there last week! And top scored with paid 11 for Poole at home on Wednesday. Considering he's been unwell I think he's done OK1 point

Heading down for this too!!!! Should be a great meeting, second string Glasgow much stronger, if Jason Edwards can have a similar meeting as he did against Poole, we could have a decent chance. Redcar will be out for redemption so its going to be a great meeting.1 point

But he’s not fit - could be a BWD case again - both with shoulder injuries I believe. Look how long that took!1 point

Solid win for Tigers just what was needed after the losing run away from home. Good team performance and Dan Gilkes is looking very impressive Saw him at Plymouth recently and it’s good to see he can ride any size track. Be interesting what average he finishes the season with. Looks very comfortable on the bike with a nice style. Good attitude aswell and was on track practicing even tho he’d just posted his best score. Well done Dan1 point
-
But who would've guessed James Wright would have returned after a few years out or Lee Complin after an even longer retirement? Plus there's riders like Rory Schlein & Aaron Summers who had very short retirements. You go ahead & keep guessing @Ryan5551 point

Sorry mate, this is neither a Panthers or Samaritan’s thread, but stay away from bridges and railway lines anyway. Congratulations on the Panthers result the other night although some betting investigations have raised concerns as there is apparently reasonable evidence that some Peterborough riders were deliberately winning races.1 point

Good result for lions. Just starting to click now. I do think Ipswich could still do us at home though but it sounded like a decent meeting. Well done to both teams .1 point

Bit harsh on Rowe not getting a permanent WC slot. 2nd reserve not bad but given no GB riders qualified thought as top GB scorer might squeeze in. Gone to chlupac, pollestad and grmek, 2 of whom he outscored1 point
