  1. He told the club during the day he was retiring. Not going to exactly go out and put himself in risky places knowing he’s done after this or exactly put in full effort is he. Some riders wouldn’t of bothered Turning up and I respect him even more for actually doing so.

  4. When Doyle retires, he would make a wonderful track curator. Even while riding, he spends so much of his time closely inspecting the tracks...

  5. Didn’t think I would ever say this but….. I enjoying the racing tonight (and last night) at Marketa stadium. I would really like Vaculik to have the ultimate success. He can fly, no doubt about it but….he hesitates when wanting to have a go at passing where the most successful go for it if they think there is a fair chance of doing it. Dudek is another that also does the same.

  6. Some good speedway today, beaten by the better team who had 3 solid heat leaders. Mechanicals and falls cost the Comets valuable points. Harry continues to struggle with only 6 points from 15 rides to date a bit of a concern. Connor was good value today and rode a brilliant heat 15 before what looked like a mechanical cost him a much deserved win. Elliot was in the wars again and may also have suffered a mechanical for his second big of,f hope he isn't too bad. Great comeback for young Luke Harrison who also had a mechanical when in a scoring position. The skipper won't have been happy, he also had a mechanical in his his first ride when in a scoring position. More seating had been installed on the first bend since last week and it looked great so well done to all concerned. Unfortunate delay when someone took ill in the crowd with 2 races to go and once again on a breezy warm day it was hard work to keep the dust down. Missed Ranting Roy today, never thought I would say that. Well done to the Fen tigers.

  7. Hate to say, it, but I thought it was his fault; not first bend bunching...

  8. Poole is the benchmark but I think the gap is closing

  9. Would say he's about 85% at the moment no issues on the bike but feels it when the adrenaline stops. As a family we are happy with his recovery so far

  10. It is really good to see two young Brits up there near the top . I would never have imagined it ten years or so ago when it was just Tai W. Genuinely think Bewley, Lambert, Woffy and whoever else they pick have a good chance in the SWC. Who will be the 4th rider though? Is it back to 4 riders plus a reserve/u21?

  11. The Jason Doyle All 4 back decision was truly awful.

  14. Where else would Tai be? He was in front on the inside, off the inside gate and there was no gap to go for.

  18. And vice versa. Ridiculous meeting the same club so many times in the first part of the season. At least the weather is set fair and no chance of a rainoff for either legs.

  19. Plymouth fans must be bored of seeing Poole are my thoughts.

  20. Did Leicester Lions not make a similar claim of some "massive news" that turned out to be the signing of Max Perry?

  21. That was not a bad meeting. With Marketa stadium reputation I was expecting a lot worse. Rew and Roe tailed off a bit at the end, shame really. How come round 1 of GP2 has taken over the thread for round 2 scheduled for two weeks time?

  22. I don't see why all this "Keyboard Warrior" s#!te has kicked off again. I've not seen one complaint about Brady & the signing of Laguta. If anything, most fans are unhappy with everything that's going on around him. Alex is the new guy & the club is suffering from the same mistakes for the last decade. That's clear evidence the issues are elsewhere. Fingers crossed for Alex but unless others move on he'll be fighting a losing battle at King's Lynn & end up tarred with the same brush. We once had a guy very similar to him, in that he'd travel to GP's, Ekstraliga, Elitserien meetings, chatting with rider's, marketing the club locally but eventually British Speedway knocked the stuffing out of him. He was the son of our (past) owner. Personally I'd forget about Poland, go looking at the youngsters from America, Germany, France, Argentina etc, these guys would be absolutely grateful for a chance & give you everything they have. Even 16-18yo Swedes & Danes are worth a shot over employing the same old same old year in, year out. Alex, pleeeeeeeeease do something different for 2024. Source new track material & find new rider's & do it your way. You're listening & learning from the wrong people who have already done a very poor job for over a decade at this club.

  23. Brady has spent money to try & improve Lynn, so I can't see how fans can knock him. It's the other riders that need a kick up the arse.

  27. I expect he was more confident of finding a gap under Zmarzlik than going round him, otherwise he would have done. The front three in the final have all just stuck to the inside.

  28. Bewley got that so, so wrong. Misses out when he should have done a lot better.

  29. Lewi had become stale at Lynn and the move did him the world of good. Its a shame being a local lad but that's sport.

  32. Wouldn't disgree, don't follow scores as closely as I prob should thought Redcar would score a lot better, think even some Scunny fans predicted a 6-8 pt home win, like I said track same for everyone . It didn't seem to bother Bailey too much & I do realise Bears TM gave him ht 15 as he was 'on it' & to keep his mojo going....

  36. One thing I don't get about the track is it has been clay based for many years.Even the time we was in the lower league it was clay based. The riders then,Topinka,Doolan,Mills,Harding,Oliver could all ride it successfully. Now fast forward a few years and the so called better riders can't.I just don't get why the so called lesser riders can ride different types of surface but the better riders can't.Shouldn't it be the other way around?
    1 point
  37. I agree Bagpuss that for whatever reason, we just can't gate. As for riding on the 'clay', and as far as I know, other tracks use a mixture of that, it's the same for all 14-riders. It's such a shame that racing has become so poor, when we used to be the envy of not just the other clubs in this country, but those overseas too. But to be honest, when do you ever see anything equal to or better at places like Ipswich & Wolverhampton?

  38. I keep reading this 'mates' thing and as far as I can see that relates to Pickering and Jakobsen. Let's be honest who wouldn't have had them back on their starting averages? I think its a red herring, bottom line is that they went for a solid 1-6 like P'boro 2021 and it hasn't worked, nowhere near. For me the biggest issue is the track, nobody can gate or ride on the clay, they all looked uncomfortable the other night even though the track was 'as the riders wanted it'. A unique surface with 24/7 availability for practice should be a fortress!

  40. I know he ain't cheap. i couldn't attend, but the crowd looked poor on TV. I was put right by Telboy, who was there. Hope the fans keep turning up for Alex, who i think is a breath of fresh air for the club. . I'm sure he is more miffed off than the fans about last night. We were so slow out of the starts.

  41. Utterly and totally untrue.Nearly all the fans who put us down this season came from East Anglia and also the usual Monmore haters.Regards the management I haven't seen any negative posts about either of them,Adams has never been100% popular with the fans(and I include myself in that) it's just the way he is, but CVS has always put his heart and soul into the club, and hopefully still will regardless wether we survive at the seasons end .

  43. If hardened fans get into a lather about what's going on, how do you explain it to a newcomer to the sport? Or more importantly, how do you expect a newcomer to take it seriously? And you wonder why the likes of Deano, myself and many others who have been long time fans of the sport are fed up with it now? Anyway, my understanding is - James Wright - he was passed fit 2 weeks ago. Not being "on the pace" is no reason to have a guest or RR for him. Not seen or heard anything to suggest that he's been given another doctors note to say he's unfit again. You either ride him in your team or you sack him and replace him with someone else. As for Dan Thompson, he's not ridden for the team yet, so no facility should apply for him. EXCEPT that there is a "facility-lite" for when "proper" facilities don't apply, so that's a guest up to 75% of his average. But this being speedway of course, the rules are made up as we go along, so basically anything can (and probably will) happen.

  44. I’m hearing they approached Garrity to see the season out at Armadale. He in turn approached the parole board to put him back inside. Just confirming that he will do anything to avoid Edinburgh.
