When the truth and all explanations are given, spare a thought for the consortium , the fans, the volunteer track staff other rides and all others who give up their time to Birmingham speedway who feel let down right now. Everyone putting on a brave face when they feel like they have kicked in the guts again.12 points

Great sporting gesture by Dan Bewley who called Zach Cook and offered to pay for the damage to his bike after Mondays big crash7 points

Utter rubbish - regardless of whose fault it was, you put on a sub standard product then you can’t expect people to pay for it… and if you do expect that, don’t expect them to return in the future, which has for a long time been speedway’s biggest issue. I myself provide a service to my customers on a daily service and if I provided a poor product or service, then I wouldn’t expect people to pay me just because it might mean my business would close. It’s down to me to keep my customer’s happy.7 points

Try Carl Johnson's... he only lives 100 yards from the stadium and will defintely be in, you may have to clean the bogs yourself though if you use them... bring your own marigolds5 points

Captain Kurtz... Becoming a proper leader in the team, and possibly the most committed, hard riding, Captain in the league?4 points

More and more impressed every time I watch Tom Brennan. Hope he cracks it in Poland soon.4 points

Not that szkocsid needs defending but there are plenty of speedway supporters that have no allegiance to a particular (maybe soft spots for one or two) and are just fans of the sport which sometimes enables a more objective point of view.4 points

Actually Martin that's exactly what you were suggesting ... or it certainly came across that way. No contact or apology from Birmingham Speedway so far - that's the most annoying thing. Speedway promoters haven't got the first idea about customer relations.4 points

Get what you are saying Pete, but I paid £20 to get told the news just before tapes up. We deserve better.4 points

All year you want him to race the inside,, then suddenly when it's not the place to be, he is all over it. Picnic short of a sarnie that one3 points

Strictly slightly going off thread but I wish Dennis McCleary all the best and a big turn out for his testimonial game this Saturday, I think it fair to say had it not been for Dennis the Bandits and the Rangers would be in a sorry mess. https://www.berwickspeedway.com/news/back-dennis-big-day/3 points

Knew you'd be the first nibble lol. 9 point rider catches and passes number 7. Hold the front pages3 points

If u don't want to take the test your obviously taking drugs simple as that so that's why it's regarded as a failure ...its his own stupid fault3 points

Hans needs to get in touch with Manchester based Phil the Ace pretty dam quick then as it appears he's no longer in the Peterborough team according to him3 points

It makes no difference who the referee was. The random drugs tests are carried out by different people & sometimes even the referee is unaware that the drugs testers are attending the meeting they are due to referee.3 points

We will probably get a statement from the SCB that will be the version of events they want us to believe.3 points

First time at Perry Barr, great venue and great fans. Problem number 1, the guy at the petrol station 2 mins down the road doesn't even know there's a speedway track less than a minute away. Would've been far closer if Morris had been riding, Alfie Bowtell did an outstanding job. Not allowing Marcins Mechanic on to fit the dirt deflector in heat 1 when they'd realised their mistake was a bit unfortunate. Some outstanding Passing and hard riding from Both teams. Hope the Brummies are back with us in 24 because we'll definitely be back.3 points

It's nonsense to say quitting couldn't be helped, he had a choice, has he quit is other business too? He may have had to scale back team management, but he should of fulfilled his duty to run the club until the end of the season.3 points

An excellent summation.. "They risk their lives for our entertainment" is often the refrain of the "happy clapper".. And, whilst never decrying or disrespecting what the riders do, if there isn't enough money to let them be fully pro, then they need to not be fully pro... I don't know when the time arrived when so many "average riders" suddenly became fully professional in the UK, but it certainly didn't do the sport any favours... When only the "very best" made a "very good" living out of the sport, the sport flourished.. With the "average riders" quite happy to earn in just one night what they earned in a week in their "real job".. And earned that "weeks money" around twenty times a month.. The sport now seems to be ran solely for the riders to earn as much as is possible to justify their large outlay... And ran for the Promoters to be able to show that they can rub shoulders with some of the worlds best, regardless of the affordability and actual tangible positive impact to the sport of these riders through increased attendances and publicity.. The fans themselves are well down the pecking order, hence we have an operating model that is devised to let pretty much "anything go" just as long as meetings take place, regardless of the credibility of the product being put out there.. With admission costs far in excess of what the competition's actual value is, and often far in excess of what a "good night out" looks and feesl like from an overall entertainment package.. If you personally choose to present something which you have reduced the credibility of, then you really need to make it entertaining, both on and off the track, to keep your fanbase interested and regularly returning... Covid was the time to be radical, and I can only assume that the promoters thought that thousands of "desperate for Speedway" fans, and ex fans, would flock to the tracks as soon as lockdown finished... Sadly, doing the same old, same old, led to the same old, same old reasons why thousands of fans, who still closely follow the sport, still don't attend regularly... Maybe this AGM eh?3 points

I am sure the SCB will give a full explanation as to what transpired it’s the least the Birmingham fans deserve. You really have to feel for the Brum promoters as they seem to be getting a kicking at every turn through no fault off their own.3 points

Well that didn’t go to script. Both heatleaders unbeaten, decent chip in from your number 2 and the reserves doing their bit shouldn’t leave you requiring a 5-1 to win at home. Not to mention the opposition number 1 scoring 4. Poor again from the usual suspects and well done to belle vue2 points

Just after the Darcy Ward ban in Latvia there was an interview with a fellow gp rider who stated they need to test more for drugs than alcohol. The understanding being that something like cocaine (and I am NOT saying what the substance in this case, as I have no idea), they suggested that it lowers your inhibitions meaning they will see a gap or opportunity that nobody else would dream of taking and end up causing serious injuries.2 points

If it was medication he'd have taken the second test...nothing to hide etc... he's a loser!2 points

Poor chap, didn't know that. I've not commented about beer & food. However, my view would be that if people are stupid enough to part with money for rubbish food & drink, and there's no law against selling it, then it is indeed good business acumen. But I wouldn't do it.2 points

Just a few bits for those that ain't watching BSN. Heat 5 re run. 3 riders at the tapes. Red lights on.. Adam comes out with. Eric didn't have his goggles down. Eric was leaving his google up to stop them misting up..The ref obviously don't think he has a brain cell that tell him he hasn't got his goggles on Great to see Dan offered to pay for Z. Cooks bike after his off. Dry shale being put down after a shower at the moment.2 points

The team riding and awareness of Scott Nicholls in heat 7 had to be seen to be believed, getting the much slower Heeps over the line for a 5:1 over Pickering, inside, outside, continually looking, ride of this season and many others, sublime stuff.2 points

He was riding for Reading at the time in Elite League, must have been 2007.2 points

Appreciate the response @Sings4Speedway used to support Rye House, then Arena-Essex & London Lions, then Rye came back so Lakeside became my second team. Currently a neutral but hope to have a team to support again next year!2 points

Spoke to him at Workington years ago, friendly geezer. Enjoyable meeting, Sayfutdinov superb.2 points

Simple question. Dou you have an actual team, that you support. You are continually looking at permutations for every team in the country.2 points

It’s definitely not exactly what I said. At no point was expected used. I have no affiliation with Birmingham or their stream. I’m making a suggestion of “wouldn’t it be nice as it wasn’t the clubs fault, those that could afford it could leave their money in and help a club in need out” Your answer to that could easily have just been no2 points
-
I’m not saying they shouldn’t be. I’m simply saying it would be nice if people didn’t request a refund which will hit the club when the issue wasn’t their fault2 points

So we are nearly 17/18 hours after the alleged incident happened - and we have still heard nothing. That is poor to say the least.2 points

The Cuckoo (pub) in Alwalton village is good. There's a Harvester right outside the Showground but no idea what it's like. Beefeater at Ferry Meadows is ok (PE2 5UU) as is the Brewers Fayre at Hampton (PE7 8BT) which also has a McDonalds, KFC, Costa, Toby Carvery near it.2 points

So we are now 100% clear Either A] the ref applied the rules wrong or B] Morris failed/refused a drugs test2 points

Very disappointing last night....BUT....some of the best racing I've seen down there in a long time. Harris/Vissing/Complin/Bowtell saved the day! Sedgemen poor yet again!!2 points

Spot on. Think it was early 90s when clubs stayed shelling out for brand new expensive vans rather than the riders buy one or get one sponsored if they wanted one. New equipment every year, totally unnecessary in my view.2 points

30 Sept 2022 Nathan Ablitt absent at Armadale. Belle Vue have to track one rider in 3 races 10 June 2023 Ashton Boughen absents himself from Workington. Leicester have to track one rider in three races. Nick Morris tonight gets REPLACED four times. ...... can anybody explain the difference?2 points
