Absolutely spot on, I've just had a quick look on socials this morning and the amount of people blaming everybody and anybody but Worrall is quite unbelievable. The SCB/BSPL may have their faults but this has absolutely nothing to do with them and they'll be running their drug testing using a 3rd party adhering to tried and tested methods that will stand up to legal scrutiny. The whole point of the test is that it's done without warning... he took a test the next day... he may as well take the test in a few weeks, his test may as well test a thousand different categories, unfortunately for him it means absolutely nothing.9 points

A little tearful on departing realising that might be my last ever visit. (My first was in 78 and in 98 and 99 it was my 'local track'). What struck me was how there was absolutely no mention of the stadium's fate. It us almost as if someone in charge doesn't want people objecting!8 points

Is it possible there could be some sort of lookalike around who could have posed as Richie and taken the other test on his behalf? I'm sure there isn't, but I have to admit the idea of it is slightly amusing.8 points

we need to be careful - if something awful happens (i don't need to spell it out) one wouldn't want to think they bore any responsibility, the lad is struggling, now is not the time to kick him. I've had mental health issues - luckily I didn't have random strangers berating me.7 points

Seriously? I’m no Poole fan, but the onus is on the rest of the league to be better, not for Poole to deliberately be worse.7 points

So that's the end of the faint playoff hopes at the end of what's proved yet another challenging and disappointing season for the Gladiators. A team assembled at the start of the season with so much hope and expectation that for whatever reason just never seemed to click. Yet again, injuries have played a huge part in the season along with a very poor stop/start nature to the season with how it was structured. Massive thank you to everyone who has guested for us across the year. Of course, there are some people on here who have a very strict agenda against Plymouth Speedway. One can only presume this is due to the distance you'd have to travel to see your team race (As an Argyle fan, it's never easy having to travel such long distances so I can sympathise to a point). People will always have their prejudices towards the track because it is different to anywhere else but I'm sorry, personally the joy and thrill of motorsport is that you don't race on the same track configuration every week. If we all raced on a 300m round oval then it would be boring week in, week out. Some of the racing at the Colosseum this season has been excellent. Even Tuesday night, threw the face of adversity, plenty of the crowd declared that as their favourite meeting for some while and credit needed to go to both sets of riders as everyone put it on the line. There's been some strange, peculiar bashing of the promotion as well. As someone who's had a hand in the day to day running of a recreational, successful sports club within the city, I can appreciate the tough, difficult job that Mark Phillips has. No promoter wants to lose money. No promoter wants to deliberately mislead supporters just to earn a quick bit of cash. People do need to remember at times just how difficult a job it is to be a promoter and absolutely nobody wants to call meetings off willingly just before meetings are due to start. As we are all aware, speedway as a sport is on borrowed time in the UK. There's no light at the end of the tunnel and every week there's another rumour circulating that another track is due to close for various reasons. We as supporters of the sport and of our own clubs have a duty to do what we can and the constant mudslinging and negative press that not just Mark but other promoters up and down the country receive are only going to drive people away from the sport and equally put off future investors because if they see what treatment promoters receive, why should they invest? This is a critical time for British Speedway as we move into 2024. The waters are choppy and the visibility isn't good. I for one, hope there's Championship racing at the Colosseum next season and I can't wait for the new season to begin.6 points

Boy does this guy need help outside of speedway. He's now been suspended for withholding his services for Edinburgh. I think he needs to do himself (more importantly than the speedway world) a favour and call it a day. Its no good him relying on speedway for an income because he is unfortunately unemployable. When Leicester re-opened in 2011, I got back into speedway and Craig was the dog's B*ll*cks around BP and I dreamed of seeing him in Lion's colours. Times have changed and I prefer to remember those days before this sad demise.6 points

More helpful if they all went on Peterborough County Council site and raised an objection as a thank you5 points

Worrall failed his test on Tuesday night, I`m not sure what his private test proves or does not prove, maybe he is saying the test that he took at Plymouth on Tuesday was faulty. It still doesn't alter the fact that he has a case to answer on his failed test on Tuesday.5 points
-
I hope that the test from his original sample comes back negative. However, and aware I’ll get flak for this, the test he paid for doesn’t alter that from Tuesday night. We don’t know yet what they found or even what amount, it’s perfectly possible a trace would be undetected the following day. Also it is unlikely to be admissible because there’s no proof the sample was even his second time around. Whether there’s a flaw in the testing procedure before a match will come out when the report on the original test comes back. Until then nothing has changed from Tuesday night. Already the Lions FB pages are convinced he’s the innocent and woe betide anyone who isn’t sure!5 points

Excellent analysis. It's a bostin little track when riders attack it and the weather plays ball. It will be a big miss if they drop out of CL but sadly riders seem to think they have all the power and for those In PL a trek down on Tuesdays doesn't work. If situation allowed Saturdays do you think that would be best option? I guess what Leicester decide to do might scupper that though in terms of available riders. I hope Plymouth keep going as its a very welcoming place and Promotion and every time you go there's another little improvement in facilities.4 points

Speedway supporters fawn over riders unfortunately, half the reason why they think its run for them and not the fans/clubs.4 points

That's because that is the procedure... no matter how much he dislikes it. He could have p1ssed out any contaminants in his first test, that's the point of having a single test, he could be continuously p1ssing into a bottle until midnight, that is not the procedure and for very good reason4 points

I thought this was a fan site for some honest and light hearted fun but clearly your comments and many other relating to Poole are not.I have said before I wish all teams were equal and any team could win the title and I still wish that could happen but after all the nasty and negative comments on here regarding Poole I hope we win the the title for the third year running4 points

Only thing is Nichols is having a stonking season and Kerr is presently hitting a bit of form I think……should be a cracking meeting….3 points

AFAIK, when you give a sample, they first test the specific gravity to make sure it is genuine pee, not appletise or a mix of 10% pee 90% water. If you have tampered with the sample (given them appletise or water) then you get a second chance to give a genuine sample. Having given a genuine sample, it gets tested by a basic "dip test". If this is negative, the procedure is over. If it's non-negative, a sample goes away for the proper testing. The sample is split into two vials "A" and "B". The "A" sample is tested. If it is negative the procedure is over. If it is positive, the rider can pay to have the "B" sample tested. If I was guessing, from the little information we have, I'd guess that Morris tried to give a fake sample, and then refused when given a second chance to give a real sample. Hence he never gave a sample and was banned accordingly. Richie Worrall gave a sample which was non-negative. There's no option to do a second sample. The sample taken will be sent off to be analysed fully. If I were Richie Worrall, and I was convinced I was clean, I would do exactly what he's done. I'd get a private test done just to make sure I hadn't had food or drink spiked without my knowledge. If my private test was clear, I'd at least have peace of mind to believe that the SCB full test will be clear.3 points

You should have a drugs test because whatever you are on is a lot stronger than anything any of the riders who have failed tests may have had in their systems.3 points

This Panthers team is ridiculously strong. It would win the Polish Ekstraliga. 60-30 is being generous.3 points

It doesn’t matter a jot how many “private” tests he takes to try and clear his name. Some substances can stay in the system and be detected in a blood test for two to three days. It’s entirely possible the test taken at Plymouth was positive, but by the time he took his “private” test his system was clear and it came back negative. Now I’m not saying he’s guilty of anything here, I’m talking hypothetically. The results from the test taken at Plymouth will determine that. But the only test that matters is the one taken at Plymouth. You can try and discredit their testing system all you like, but that in itself puts you on dodgy ground if accusations are made about the legitimacy of tests taken at tracks.3 points

Implausible to think that he has someone who is the spit of him....it's not science fiction or a Bond film ya know ...a lookalike? I ask ya .....3 points

Any Leicester or Peterborough supporters not attending this meeting or watching on BSN can listen to live commentary on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, this is available also on BBC Sounds.3 points

If indeed he is negative would this lead to legal action against SCB….. at least for loss of earnings, possibly damage to reputation.3 points

A big massive THANK YOU to all Speedway Supporters across the U.K. who have taken time out to put comments and/or objections to the development proposals of the East of England Showground that will ultimately see the end of Peterborough Speedway, you are top people and clearly love your sport! However we need more comments, we need a ground swell of support from anyone, anywhere. Already the number of comments/objections has raised eyebrows, please if you can, leave your comments. Here’s how to do it: Search Google ‘Peterborough City Council Planning Applications’ Search the planning register ‘Showground’ You will see the two applications references are: 23/00400/OUT and 23/00412OUT click on either and/or both Click on documents Click on associated documents You will then see the comments/objections that have been already left there are 25 to a page. Go down the different page numbers to eventually find the planning application detail. To make a comment/objection go back to the page where the associated documents link was and click the comments link. Leave your comments/objections and press submit. Anyone can comment/object. You can comment on both applications. Your support is so appreciated.3 points

Oh wow, Love the way that you can't resist a dig at the Tories for their 8 years in tenure, in which they were actually in coalition with the Lib/Dems. So, it's all their fault now? Nothing to do with Labour who were in charge forever before 2004 and who've been in charge for the 11 years since 2012? But hey, don't let the facts get in the way of a good politically motivated punchline, eh? In reality the Equal Pay dispute has been decades in the making, decades in the disputing by ALL political parties, and now has finally been acknowledged as a major issue following years of heads of all persuasions being buried in the sand. If you want to point the fingers of blame, look to the Unions who have the ability to pull their bin MEN out on strike if they don't get juicer cuts of the pay budget as opposed to those Unions in the social care sector who look after mainly WOMEN who aren't as militant and consequently couldn't hold the council to the same level of blackmail, leading to the pay inequalities that resulted. Add up the little differences here and the little differences there, and they all add up over time, and it's been a long time in the making. And in any case, the issues over the lease on the stadium and the Planning Application will be over before the next council election so any thoughts about the political landscape changing is not going to alter anything.3 points

Spot on! It's not about a flaw though and they won't know what amount. That's what the lab test is for. The "onsite test" uses a litmus paper type of dipper. It changes colour if something's detected. The lab test will show the amounts and whether it's consistent with declared pain killer use for example or was a "false positive." The unfortunate thing is their names are out there now and everyone can jump to their own conclusions before really knowing the outcome2 points

It makes Zero difference. Two tests taken days apart can have different results. The only test that matters is the one taken at Plymouth.2 points
