Welcome to the BSF Looking forward to locking horns with you6 points

No way in the world if our riders stayed fit would we have finished last, the luck the riders and promotion have had to deal with this year no team could absorb. Sometimes throughout the season I’ve been critical of a few things but that’s heat of the moment stuff I’m thankful very thankful that I’ve had a team to support and I very much hope we are back at tapes next season.6 points

My thoughts regarding heat 15 are that Bomber and Basso had only 4 rides until then, both Tom and Vadim got an r/r ride, so Cammy gave the extra ride to Chris and Ben, there was nothing at stake, getting the bonus point was meaningless so give the pairs winners an extra ride. Tarasenko was tremendous though, didn't expect him to be that good, there again I don't watch Polish speedway. Another point, we would not have made any changes if Marcin had stayed, granted that change has strengthened us, but what we did is perfectly legal, I am sure that rule will be changed for next season.5 points

Things are getting bad when I now realize you are one of the more sensible ones now.5 points

PETERBOROUGH: Richard Lawson (Guest), Niels-Kristian Iversen, Benjamin Basso, Chris Harris, Vadim Tarasenko, Ben Cook, Jordan Jenkins. PARRYS INTERNATIONAL WOLVES: Sam Masters, Steve Worrall, Luke Becker, Rory Schlein, Ryan Douglas, Zach Cook, Leon Flint. Thought I would take the opportunity to start quite possibly my last ever thread on the forum . Penultimate meeting for the Panthers 2023 season and quite possibly for ( no wont say it but you know what I mean ) Theres at present just 30 heats , 120 laps and 30 minutes of race actiion left to experience at the showground as it stands And just as unfortunately for Wolves fans there last ever competitive league match before they participate in the play offs and also face the prospect of closure. Lets hope its a safe meeting for all the riders and its not the end of a Panthers vs Wolves clash and they both get to lock spindles again in the future .4 points

Can't see any reason Buster would not want to run it Potentially the last ever meeting at The Showground and will surely attract a huge huge attendance The takings will far outweigh the outgoings even though paying both teams4 points

Wright was taken to Hospital if they say anything more ill post it over here.4 points

I'm guessing they will wait until after tomorrow before announcing the Lynn meeting as they know a lot of people will come tomorrow thinking it's the last ever meeting..which continues on the theme of Busters dishonesty..4 points

Need some new security at the nutter house. Seems to be more getting out as the weeks go by.4 points

Your asking too many questions that you will not get a direct answer to, crowd levels are sworn too secrecy and team managers do as they see fit. Just enjoy your speedway like the rest off us and the other sh*t will take care off itself.4 points

You’re reference to “shooting itself in the foot” wasn’t about Heat 15 though, or if it was it was so poorly written that the vast majority on here didn’t get your point. Also Jesus Christ wasn’t available for the Pairs either, Polish commitments I believe.4 points

That was surreal . Floodlights were on and the sky got really black , but I'm glad we were in front when the inevitable downpour came . Until then it was an entertaining meeting, Son of God remembered his birthright and was majestic . Mad Vlad was also superb for a 5 point man on his first away meeting , boy has a future . Special mention to Jack Smith , his battling display beating first Riss and then Bailey were crucial points3 points

The I know the real truth story is getting a bit tiresome though. Either post the facts, as you understand them or give it a rest, said in the nicest possible way. CJ has been a yo-yo for years and you seem to think that him making decisions is a plus. I'm not sure how many Panthers fans feel the same? Until Buster actually says what went wrong with the Tomlin deal, why he has been so negative on our future during 2023 (although I understand if it's not to upset AEPG as Bratters says), or why here at the end of 2022, at 1.01 he say that Panthers could have another few seasons at the EoES ? https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1285189478916248 then the jury is out and will remain so. Yes he's providing a good ending, and credit for that, but the emphasis very much on ending with others fighting for the club and energising the fans to get active. Surely even a die-hard Buster fan such as yourself can see that there are some questions to answer?3 points

You seriously can’t think Buster was the one that found Wojdylo and Tarasenko? The easy option/jobs for the boys Worrall and Andersen would have been Busters choice. Similar to the team building at Lynn this season, hence why both of his teams are rooted to the bottom of the table.3 points

Well he has turned down a full asking price offer so he is either stupid or has a better offer maybe from the developer ?3 points
-
No fight whatsoever, hes done a Terry Russell and accepted the brown envelope. Wouldn't surprise me if he brings out a statement saying speedway is not viable at the showground, playing right into the developers hands.3 points

Wright has abandoned the team that owns his contract in GB and should get a 28 day ban!3 points

Are you getting upset because someone posted that they are starting to think Ipswich’s name is on the trophy? And then because someone said “wouldn’t that be nice”? Good grief, neither post even mentioned Charles Wright! Let alone said anything bad about him. Let’s hope Charles makes a quick recovery, but in the meantime there’s no reason for supporters to stop wanting their team to win. I haven’t read a single post that’s revelling in his injury.2 points

If they can't turn this around with all the bad luck Wroclaw are having regarding injuries then they don’t deserve it.2 points

After CJ bailed out, your team has been improved dramatically. CJ was the promoter running things from the start with his buddy MT, who supposed to be co promoter, but he didn't end up doing that.. Most felt that Buster would just do nothing and run the clock down, but he hasn't.. He's brought riders in and he is paying them now, and doing the deals.. I can't say any more than that.2 points

Interesting news I've been told by an ex City Councillor about Wheels Site which may indirectly help Brummies in longer term possibly. He believes that the 40acre Wheels site has been given to the new American Owners of Birmingham City Fc in exchange for the much smaller St Andrews site. There are a number of caveats, not the least that the new owners will take over the decontamination of Wheels a massive task likely to take 12 months and cost tens of millions. The new Owners will then build a City of Birmingham Stadium owned by the football club holding 62000 in 3 tiers. The top tier of 17000 will be cleverly hidden behind marketing banners to be opened for major events and it will have a retractable roof and drop in football pitch The aim is for multi sports including athletics, American football, stadium motor sport and concerts etc Associated facilities will include full soccer training facilities and pitches and a 400 metre training athletic track needed for major events. All funded by American Venture Capital. It will link with a massive new Movie Film and TV studio being built on the East Side by Stephen Knight of Peaky Blinders Fame. Hollywood Style facilities. The arrival and investment of Tom Brady NFL legend suggests a serious rival for London for an NFL franchise. Definitely a possible speedway GP venue of the future adjacent to HS2. The existing St Andrews site will pass to Council to develop for housing raising much needed funds. Apparently already all agreed and rubber stamped as part of BCFC takeover and signed off by City Council and Mayor Street. Brummies wise it may give access to Alexander Stadium if and when Birch field Harriers locate to the new smaller state of the art Athletics track. They (BCFC) have also bought the very modern Wasps Rugby Union training facility and moved in there. Alexander Stadium may therefore be available ultimately for other sports but timescale is 3 to 5 years. One final interesting correlation is Gary Cook who orchestrated Man City move to Etihad after it was transformed and start of their massive rise has been installed as their CEO with Brady working as a global ambassador. Win for the Council who rid themselves of a contaminated eyesore that was Wheels. Glimmer of hope though for Speedway to move to Alexander Stadium2 points

What's CJ bailing out got to do with it. Chapman is the owner and what he says goes no matter what the others underneath him do. He soon pops up on any team building issue that doesn't suit. He could have given us a decent team from the off irrespective of CJ. Good effort at deflection though. And credit for making avoiding the wooden spoon look like an achievement2 points

No. A two legged tie is a tie decided over two legs. A league match, BSN, main or mini is a league match with the overall results of the league being determined at the completion of the league. It’s quite simple you know - two legged tie = no aggregate point league = aggregate point.2 points

Indeed. And that was the clever part of the article when he said: " If anyone did want to make me an offer, I wish they would have put it in writing, because I would have accepted it if it was anything sensible." - if those negotiations were only verbal and an offer price couldn't be agreed then there were no offers, despite others disputing that?2 points

Gaz, you’ve misread a second post. Why does this keep happening? I said “if I was a narcissist, I’d want an apology”. I don’t want an apology, but unless you read these posts properly, we’re going to continue to struggle. This entire discussion has risen from you and two others failing to read a simple post which I clarified for a second time and @Noelinho confirmed he understood. I’ll repeat it; I’m afraid an inability to read a simple sentence isn’t my problem.2 points
-
Mate, I have no idea what you want people to apologize for, If you are incapable of expressing your point properly then you can't expect posters to have the ability to have ESP in order for them to reply in order to help explain it. Now for the avoidance of doubt, I have no issue with debating but you are coming across as a bit hostile. Some people will give you the benefit of the doubt but most won't. And you are correct of course I won't and yes the alternative is I'm out as I can't really be arsed explaining it to you.2 points

Isn't there a history throughout the leagues of some clubs not nominating their highest-paid rider(s) for Heat 15 as a simple economy, if the match is already won (or lost)?2 points

The way I understood was 1 home match from each team in the play offs. But not gospel.2 points

Yes, it was. My ”shooting itself in the foot” comment was in response to @Fromafar saying ”plus he wasn’t in the top three averages”, so the confusion came from him/her because he/she misread my post. @Noelinho understood it without issue, so do we require an English lesson? For those in doubt, that sentence states that Tarasenko was overlooked in heat fifteen for the Pairs champions; not overlooked for the Pairs. My inclusion of the word “champions” clarifies the context perfectly. If I was a narcissist, I’d be waiting for “sorry, I didn’t read your post properly” from @Fromafar, @phillipsr and @Gazc2 points

I would be surprised if they bought more land for a speedway venue, it would probably be easier/cheaper for them to let them carry on as they are. If the speedway is closed in a few weeks time we can expect Chapman to come out swinging with a campaign to save the Panthers if he goes out with a whimper we can assume hes taken the cash.2 points
-
I think it makes perfect sense - a 2 legged tie is different from a mini league. At the risk of staying the obvious, a 2 legged tie is one where the outcome is decided over 2 legs. So a knock out cup round or a play off final (and semi in the case of the Premiership) is a 2 legged tie, a league, full or mini, isn’t.2 points

What about the consortium that Mick Bratley said on the radio had approached him about taking the club over? Or Ged looking to get the club back, with Neil Watson involved? I’ve no insider info but there seems to be enough talk around to suggest there is truth in the stories that others are keen to take the club on…..2 points

Just watched the BSN coverage from Thursday and every time they mentioned Peterborough's demise they kept prefixing it with the word "potentially". Buster says definitely everybody else says potentially... something dodgy going on2 points

It's true to say that no British Speedway Club owns their stadium or the land on which it is built. Most ownerships can probably be traced back to City or Town Councils, and could be commandeered for building purposes as and when a Council decided to do so. Birmingham Wheels Park, a previous home of Birmingham Speedway, was designated as a motor sports venue on the strength of the Council deciding that it was the most toxic pieces of land in the City, but this has not prevented this same council from taking back the lease and now deciding that it should be used to build industrial units, with the usual platitude of offering to help find an alternative site for the wheeled sports which have now been evicted, being very quickly forgotten.2 points
