As has been said so many times on here this season they can only use the track on a Monday night so what league does that leave drrrr.3 points

After heat 2 it's irrelevant what number the reserves are at as they get swapped around more than a Kate Middleton photo3 points

Yes, but the lack of card payments is, I believe, because they use WiFi, which doesn’t stretch to the admissions gates. You can buy your chips with a card! Maybe Stewart Dickson could put a WiFi access point on the tractor.2 points

Many, many times. Like a cracked 78rpm disc. Like the Burnley and Sheffield United supporters who currently believe they'd get access to better players and get off the floor of the table if soccer across the nation would only go to ten-man teams.....2 points

Given they don’t have card payments for entry yet, I’m guessing not. Still a lot of other things they’re working on, I think.2 points

At a guess, I would say no. I've heard or seen nothing to suggest they are going to start doing this but i would love to be proven wrong. Thankfully, I don't plan to miss many home games this season with it being on my doorstep2 points

They should have been told to not select a middle age rider from the other side of the world ( again ) who couldn't average 5 points last season and give the place to a ‘developing’ Brit , isn't that the point of this league ??? but this is how British speedway is now being run.2 points

Sheffield have started their season with Tai already riding so would get the appropriate facility? So I’m not quite sure how that is the same as Plymouth losing a rider for the first portion of the season before it’s even started? I personally think a team starting a season with only 6 riders and say having to use an NDL guest to cover it completes strips away any ‘credibility’ the sport has. I feel the sport has spent a lot of time (Mainly Phil Morris) trying to restore some sort of credibility and excitement to British Speedway recently and I don’t think it’s good for the sport to put a club in a potentially untenable position moving forward. Promoting a speedway team and making it work in this day and age seems a tough gig at the best of times and the sport has often cut its nose off to spite its face in recent years, I feel this is potentially one of those times and I’d be really disappointed if Plymouth struggled financially or otherwise due to this.2 points

Id rather see the rules followed and the sport have some form of credibility than just ignore them because someone put effort in (how much is unknown) whats to stop other rules being ignored as long as theres some effort2 points

Classic! In a day when the sport is on its arse, supporters are walking away year on year and tracks struggle to survive, the authorities would rather hang Plymouth and their fans out to dry rather than work together to provide a solution. If Saturday goes ahead it will likely be a mauling and all that does is see more supporters walk away. It will be the same in each meeting. I don’t know when Covatti may be fit but based on what I’ve seen and am aware of, this is a problem that Plymouth didnt cause and have tried every avenue they can to resolve (without financially crippling themselves) and yet the authorities are sticking two fingers up rather than offering support. Classic reaction from a body who has their own interests at the heart of what they do. It’s not the authorities fault either, I’m acutely aware of that but the lack of flexibility is piss poor2 points

Those that have lost clubs never loose hope it may take years to get it back it may never come back but, Support the sport we lost our club many years ago and since have travelled all over the Uk to watch various teams and events, since we lost ours we started a family and the sport has gained a couple of supports! Don’t give up on it2 points

It's a tricky one, I wonder what Wroclaw fans thought about the possibility of guests last season when they were heading into the play-offs without Woffy & Magic and with Connor Bailey & Charles Wright? It made the final if not a farce, certainly a foregone conclusion2 points

I think it's "hats off " to Scotty the oldest rider in British S/way still being a force to reckon with ,not just there to make up the numbers !1 point

Feel for Birmingham there, done over by Sheffield having a tac sub. Sheffield very lucky to win1 point

Not sure the Birmingham riders got the memo about struggling! Although tbh perfect time to ride against Sheffield, they haven't really got going yet. Also good to read on speedway updates that they have got a big crowd in.1 point

By your own admission, no rules were broken; so there was no ‘abuse of the rule book’. Whether the rules adequately deal with such a situation is a different matter.1 point
-
I think the way Plymouth abused the rule book a couple of seasons ago with the Eddie Kennett debacle and were allowed to use a guest all season for him . They broke no rules I admit but this is why the Rule book over a missing rider was tightened up1 point

A lot of clubs use a company called Infinity21, it requires a steady internet upload speed. Northside has nothing yet being isolated, believe it's somewhere on the openreach/Fibrus roadmap! Berwick being in a built up area (and being a football stadium) will have ADSL lines at the very worst, so could also have card payments.1 point

With it being Workington's first season in the Champ, plenty of opposition fans could be interested in visiting. Would streaming make enough to cover potential lower attendances?1 point
-
Not forgetting the publicity machine that Jordan Jenkins is. He puts in lots of time doing school visits etc to spread the word. I've noticed a fair few Poles at the first 2 meetings, so the Magic effect is working. Nobody seems to have cottoned on yet that Oxford and Wroclaw are twinned, so that could give plenty of opportunities for more publicity.1 point

Interesting the SCB have used a photo of Ashfield with the championship trophy yet gave the title to Edinburgh ? Well they did award all the titles in the NDL as well so…..1 point

Answered my own question, they've updated the schedule with the 2024 fixtures streamed, good news. https://tv.scunthorpe-speedway.com/1 point

The former - but it would be worth a go. Maybe Newman could guest for Covatti, and then they could have R/R for Newman!1 point

Have to agree with @phillipsr if you allow a team leeway to break the rules because of injuries where do you draw the line? If Woffinden is injured and Sheffield don't think Danny King is a strong enough replacement, are they allowed to use Doyle, no - becaus that's against the rules. You might consider it tough on Plymouth, but the promoters themselves made up the ruling that they have to agree to.1 point

Did you enjoy those visits? Quite simply an exciting and entertaining team a good surface and an enthusiastic crowd (made up of all ages). I personally am not a fan of gimmicks give fans a place to stand, get food and a drink, it’s the racing experience first and foremost. Having witnessed plenty of dross over the years it was fantastic to have speedway back at Sandy lane an opinion shared by many others who bring along the next generation of young fans encouraged by Oxfords admission policy. This season we have the chance to see some of the top riders again on our circuit, watch speedway almost every week . It doesn’t get much better than that.1 point

My bad. thought it was a lot different to what was broadcast this morning, which was basically a moaning piece NT doing a Steve Mallet doom and gloom piece, along the lines of "use it or you lose it "1 point

Plymouth have had long enough to either sign one rider as a direct replacement for Covatti or more than one signing if that were needed. I applaud the decision to not allow Plymouth a facility.1 point
-
Rowe is a better option, agreed. I more meant Morley is the strongest rider who is likely to sign. If Rowe wanted a Champ spot, surely he'd have signed for Workington months ago? But there's always a possibility he'd take a short term spot?1 point

As the first match is this Friday, do Scunthorpe intend to put this year's admission price on the website before then?1 point

With the Eastbourne alumni, you could also include Martin Dugard... Boston's Andy Fisher is another one to add to the list.1 point

I've been talking more about Oxford than Poole, so some of my points aren't relevant. They'll always be a debate on a forum re prices. Simply because not everyone will agree.1 point
-
Most Championship clubs were charging £20 last season, whereas Poole was £19. So am surprised there is a debate about it (we are just catching up!) Maybe they need the extra pound from everyone to cover costs more. They said publicly that season tickets have been going really well, so maybe not that much picking and choosing!1 point

Thought he was alright when he rode for us,but messed us about when he was injured and rode when and where he wanted too no real loyalty but can’t complain when he was on track for us. iMO1 point

If I was Birmingham I'd have sacrificed heat 13 & aimed for points in heats 8 & 14. Plus tell Ermolenko he can put Cook in heats 12 & 14 if he's riding better than Flint. 1. Vaclav Milik 2. Steve Worrall 3. Wiktor Lampart 4. Scott Nicholls 5. Tom Brennan 6. Zach Cook 7. Leon Flint1 point
