1) there are far better ways to achieve that 2) this won't be the case in the Cardiff & Warsaw GPs. I find it odd they created a system for the reason you said, then qualifying can stop the GP winner being top scorer.5 points

Of course, it's terrible when someone uses their knowledge to make a post, as opposed to just blurting out nonsense...4 points

Definitely pleased to have Klindt back, but definitely still a rider short of a top 4 team. I was doubting Niels, but after his performance last week at Oxford, think he will do a decent job for us - leaves MPT / Patryk who I'm not convinced with.....one would be ok, but not both....3 points

Issue was ironed out after heat 5 and produced some terrific racing. Scunthorpe were absolutely atrocious. Howarth is not a number 1 don’t care what anybody says. Comets 1-7 all mucked in but Sam McGuirk had the bit between his teeth towards the end of the meeting. Him and Celina impressed towards the end. Zischke is an absolute steal on a 5 what a rider that lad is going to be. Cookie and Batch shutting the keyboard warriors up, again. Claus getting to grips with the track now too.3 points

To be honest I was completely unaware of this until tonight. Why launch something for just 2 rounds? It’s making a farce of the current scoring. Just do it for every round or don’t bother. Too much of a gimmick for my liking.3 points

Really can't understand the point of the scoring system, for example Woffinden 3 points = 1 GP point. If Woffy had fallen off instead of winning one race, he'd still score the same single point! Then you have Kvech, Wozniak & Vaculik all scoring 6 points, but Vaculik gets 2 more GP points than Kvech - is this really the best they can come up with?3 points

If people paid attention and knew what they were typing about they would know Danny was NOT riding in the NJL ! He rode in the second half to get bike time and sort an engine out.2 points

24 took part and i’m pleased to say that the spread was too hard for 13 of you punters !! Only 11 carry on to round 2 yes Holder cost me but i cannot see why so many piled in on Woffy !!! I had seen nothing so far this season to think he would be anywhere near winning the meeting. Scunny"s heat leader trio must be a worry . Howarth did manage to win a race tonight , Allen did battle for his points , but Palm Toft was dreadful . For the home team , Son of God will never score an easier maximum . Schlien and Kemp were able back ups . Don't think the home fans will be looking forward to Son of God returning next Saturday2 points

They have both been around a long time experimenting should be done at a practice session.Your missing Douglas who was a real No1 and very reliable everywhere unlike his replacement.2 points

You get the feeling he would look Bartek in the eye and not be fazed.. And also not let him ride up the inside of him at the apex of any turn...!! Bartek clipping his back wheel would not be a surprise.. Unlike many who basically "soil'" themselves and drift out and get their race ruined as they lock up, heading towards the fence..2 points

What a race... Jack Holder is a proper potential winner this year... Has that arrogance needed... And takes no prisoners...2 points

I'm only quoting 90 % of comments on this forum Most at workington are behind her and believed it was only a matter of time before she had a result Dont expect it every week but she's been very close to passing almost every meeting And Sam just needs a little more confidence which he had 2nd half this meeting1 point

Don’t believe all hate for Rob Godfrey , he’s very knowledgable and approachable with anything to do with speedway . Well done to Workington today and Berwick yesterday on there wins this weekend . My worry with the Scunny side is at No 1 , I know with the pts limit Kyle Howarth was not going to match Ryan Douglas scores but I’m sure his seasons scores he’s averaging approx 6 pts per meeting which is no we’re good enough as a number 1 . Other riders aren’t performing as the should aswell , really hope the team uses this as a springboard to getting things better on the track1 point

That really does sum up the sort of person you are trackprat. Taking delight at the POSIBILLITY, of one of the biggest clubs in british speedway having to close down .Eventually. There really are no words for somebody like you. Clearly to me you are not a speedway fan of any description, just an out and out loose screw, who's in big need of seeing a shrink !1 point

Wow, how poor are Scunny, I said yesterday after the Berwick hammering that Scunny are a team of good second strings with occasionally rising to heat leader, I’ll change that to Scunny are a team of poor second strings, it’s early days yet but the door is ajar already for Toft and Howarth, especially Howarth who I don’t rate anyway, Scunny have no number one again and boy does it show1 point

Put a fair bit of dirt down in the past 2 weeks and it hasn’t bedded in apparently. Seemed to be a soft spot more than a rut that was causing an issue coming out of turn 41 point

I disagree tbh. I think Zach Cook has done well and has gone some what under the radar. I also think Pavlicki will do well given a few more meetings. The issue we have is that we really need a big hitter but who is available that will ride for us? Zagar? Will do a reasonable job... Double figs (including bonus), most nights off five rides I would say.. One win and maybe one last per night, with the rest in scoring positions.. He would keep the score at least closer than maybe some..1 point

Probably making the numbers up, let's be honest Danny isn't too far from njl standard and could do with the extra practice as I'm sure that's why he's doing it .1 point

For that reason I don't know why they only use one track. I would think they'd get more fans if it was held at different tracks as you'd get 2 or more sets of "home" fans attending, rather than some just attending the final?1 point

I will say this again; at least this system guarantees that the GP winner gets the most points! I HATE when people do this, but here's how it WOULD have looked under the old system (with comparison in brackets)... 18 - Holder (-2) 14 - Zmarzlik (=) 12 - Lambert (=) 12 - Doyle (-6) 11 - Huckenbeck (=) 11 - Lindgren (-5) 9 - Madsen (-1) 8 - Kubera (-1) 7 - Michelsen (-1) 6 - Vaculik (-1) 6 - Wozniak (=) 6 - Kvech (+1) 5 - Lebedevs (+1) 5 - Bewley (+2) 4 - Zagar (+2) 3 - Woffinden (+2)1 point
-
The referee was waiting for Lambert to obey marshal's instructions, and did not put green light on. Riders don't have to spin motors until marshal walks away and referee put's on green light. It may be Simon has sustained a fine, or a report, for causing the problem.1 point

Personally I thought it was a pretty decent GP, above average in fact compared to recent years. It may not be racing for the purist, but the way the bikes and tracks are riders seem to have to be pretty extreme to make any moves and use the ruts, it certainly makes for entertainment and the FIM don't seem to be in any hurry to tone the bikes down. Heat 15 was purist stuff and a great race! None of the noobs disgraced themselves and probably did at least as good as some of the journeyman that have been cast aside this year with maybe Huckenbeck being the stand out. Maybe the reason a lot of the field don't resonate with some is because we just don't get to see most of them regularly in this country anymore? As for Woffy, for me he's at the stage of his career where he's quite comparable to Doyley and the contrast between the 2 is blindingly obvious to see, just the body language on the bike, Doyley looks as though he'd do almost anything to get back to the top, his semi final 2nd place was all you needed to see, brilliant stuff, Woffy... I can see him retiring from Speedway at the end of the year. Well done to Jack Holder, very impressive, I like his style, just the right amount of arrogance without going over the top with it and he's able to back it up unlike Woffy these days.1 point

Is it just me or has the SGP series become horrifically stale? Apart from Lambert.I just can't engage with these rider's, they just bore me. The whole thing needs a freshen up imo1 point

It's all a bit silly isn't it? The SGP already ran sprint races - 23 of them in fact. This is quite aside from the fact that track conditions are going to change between qualifying sessions, so the session you're drawn in is going to influence the selection order for those that don't qualify for the 'sprint race'. Regardless of what's being claimed, it's not going to be the same for everyone. Then there's the 'sprint race' itself. What happens if those four riders wipe each other out before the GP starts? In MotoGP you've got far more riders in a race and you can't get them all on the front grid, so timed qualifying is one of the fairer approaches to lining them up, especially as you can put all the riders in one session where the conditions will be the same for everyone. Speedway - for precisely the reasons it takes place on a much smaller track and only has a small number of riders in each race as a result, has evolved a multi-race all-out sprint format. If you really wanted to add some interest to practice, add some extra wildcards and have them race-off for a couple of places in the GP proper.1 point
