  1. Not to shabby for a couple of guys both the wrong side of 40, British speedway will be a poorer place when they both finally hang their kevlars up.

  2. Bomber & Nicholls! Now they've learnt not to knock each other off is there another pair that consistently race against each other better?

  6. I think you're getting Poole confused with Kings Lynn. Poole don't call off meetings for no reason.

  8. As posted by Cllr Julie Stevenson on Facebook PETERBOROUGH SPEEDWAY News that the city council has accepted the parish council's NOMINATION for the grandstand to be listed as an Asset of Community Value. This is an important step in the process and we await the outcome of the assessment in the weeks to come. This is essentially to prevent the grandstand from being destroyed. Whether or not the application will be successful remains to be seen, but what's important is this very strong gesture on the part of the parish council in support of Peterborough speedway. I thank them for #savethepanthers

  9. New date for the re-staging is the 16th of May.Bit peed off really as i bought a season ticket for this year and i booked all my holidays around the Lynn matches. Now i miss this one due to being on holiday. This one shouldn't have been called off in the first place and now it is costing me.Not very happy to say the least, won't be getting a season ticket next season as it stands.

  33. 100% agree. The Championship needs Mildenhall a hell of a lot more than Mildenhall need the Championship imo. Racing on a Sunday is a disaster due to Poland, just ask Newcastle!

  36. Fromafar, THJ wrote to me on the 4th May last year to give me the reason why he will not be attending the speedway at Workington any more and I reported this fact to Steve Park at the time who did ask about him. As I said to him it is not my place to give his reasons on line on why he has made this decision and my position has not altered in any way so please do not ask me about this matter now. Bob

  37. At least they've made an effort of sorts although the fact that the page has a promotional video for AEPGs unwanted vision is a bit galling: Peterborough Panthers Speedway team remain defiant and target a return to racing in 2025 Full statement https://borospeedway.proboards.com/post/43173

  38. A thought provoking idea, then put r/r at 5, use Doyle in heat 13 so Doyle & Sayfutdinov get 5 races together? But I wouldn't want to use Doyle in heat 8, as any Witch should have the beating of Joe T.

  44. The NSSC are hosting a special event on Tuesday 7th May at the Brandon Club. Starting at 8pm, Paul Ackroyd, David Norris and Gary Havelock will be discussing the work of the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund. Although at times it is a solemn but necessary subject there will be plenty of opportunity for David & Gary to entertain the audience with tales of past adventures. It promises to be a great event with all proceeds for the SRBF. Everyone welcome only £4 entry. All details here; https://www.nuneatonspeedwaysupportersclub.co.uk

  46. If a league match, for example, is abandoned without the result being declared: - no team points are awarded regarding the league table - no rides and points count in the riders' averages - the fixture does not count in official 'records of achievement', so effectively the races completed become unofficial - if a rider sets a new best time in an unofficial 'race', such as in a practice it does not count as an official record ..... so why would a track record time set in an abandoned meeting stand? On the other hand: - the riders will have been paid for the races they competed in - at the time the races took place they were 'official' until subsequently deemed otherwise - if a team drops out of the league the results are expunged from the records - if a team drops out of the league the riders' scores no longer count in their averages - expunged results are no longer official, although they were at the time they were achieved - a track record set during a meeting subsequently removed from the official records still stands ...... so why wouldn't a track record time set in an abandoned meeting still stand. In my opinion the record should stand even if the meeting is abandoned. It was an official race when it took place. Ivor Brown held the track record at Cradley Heath for nearly 6 years with a time of 68.4 seconds set against New Cross on 20th July 1963. Eric Boocock eventually set a new record of 67.0 seconds on 12th May 1969. In 1963 New Cross dropped out of the Provincial League in August and the results were expunged from the official records. The meeting at Cradley Heath was 'official' at the time it took place. Subsequently, Cradley Heath had the league points from the meeting taken away, Ivor Brown had the points scored taken away but he kept the track record.
