For some reason he's the Presenter this evening, after Kileen locked up and fell causing Craig Cook to also come off there was a murmur in the crowd when Killeen was excluded... Blair comes on the mic asking the crowd if they think the ref has got the decision right, to roars, then asks if they think the ref should view a replay, again to roars, the ref then views a replay, decision unchanged. It's not the presenters job to incite the crowd, as the rules state.... I consider that the riders job, but they're too busy disappearing back to the pits as soon as every race is over.3 points

We’ve seen riders have career impacting injuries, wrong place, wrong time or dangerous opponent. It can’t be coincidence certain riders often end up on the sidelines virtually every season.3 points

Robert would be a great addition to Lynn on 7.61 or 7.81. Not so good for the Aces as we have the most work to do with having the highest total average and he would probably be reassessed for us 8.50-9.00. Be good to see him return to the UK.3 points

Could they just not rearrange the Cup Final? Maybe do a double header with the Jubilee Cup...?😜2 points

Well don’t be critical of what I do. Just keep off the thread.others post on here about what it was set up for you just want to slag the post off.not a nice thing to do to attack a newbie who is trying to enjoy the forum.2 points

That was very unfortunate and you know that.He lifted slightly and caught the back of Klindt and unfortunately he ended up over the fence.2 points

Was definitely yet another good meeting. Heat 15 was excellent. Niels has to be in with a shout of rider of the season. I doubted his inclusion at the start of the season but he's been worth his weight in gold. Anders deserved another ride as well I thought. A top 5 next season of lawson, Basso, kvech, klindt and iversen would be a match for most teams. If Robert was available, not sure which one I'd swap out. Add on Anders on his 25% reduction, plus an RS, we'd be sorted..2 points

It’s a fair enough thread open for discussion but as per usual ends up personal. Usually due to others forced preference. I remember the Ben & Ronnie feud well, in person. It did get too personal which escalated the altercation. I attended all of these meetings. Of course I was on Ronnie’s side as a biased Peterborough supporter, fully understand the opposition view. So here goes my opinion to the thread question, which will open up the floodgates again. Apart from the Boyce punch that seemed to calm Tomasz down I have to say NP is the most dangerous rider I’ve seen. Some of the moves he made were deliberately dangerous.2 points

He failed his concussion medical. Until he passes that he can’t ride.2 points

Danny King should score 7 a meeting that’s what his position in the team is Doyle and Emil 13… Ellis and King 7 … Dan T and Rew 5 and Jenkins 3….. that’s 53 points a meeting I’m an Ipswich fan and yes sometimes it’s frustrating seeing Danny struggle but since back from injury he has scored 7 twice … 8… 9 twice and 10 and 12……. Good scores I would say at home or do some of our fans expect him to match Doyle and Emil Our team is built top heavy … but built superbly well that we have the next 2 riders in Ellis and King who regularly get 7 or more to support the top 2 Since losing Emil it seems King is a scapegoat for us losing … he isn’t going to get 10-12 most weeks he isn’t that level1 point

Well I for one thought Greg Blair’s performance tonight was a breath of fresh air a 100% improvement on the usual incumbent who is a total bore who likes the word “Obviously” and usually fails to announce the line up until they are at the first bend.1 point

Team average will be dropping apparently so some managers will have to fully rebuild the squads. We’ve tried improving the line ups over here and it’s failed miserably so lowering the points limit seems to be the way forward1 point

Hampel’s out - not sure if they can use RR for him. If not Kvech will ride.1 point

Very surprised the KL promotion didn’t do a package offer for yesterday and today - especially knowing tonight’s is streamed on BSN. Was there last night and looked the poorest crowd I’ve seen all season, can imagine there will be even fewer tonight… Some gesture of both meetings for £35-£40 might have tempted a few more…?1 point

We were in the stand behind the tapes, and much as I would have loved to see Richard get a paid max, he got beat fair and square ,and I'm probably one of the stars more partisan supporters1 point

Never once cast doubt on Brady's injuries. Not interested in what happened in a different century, I'm interested in the application of the rules in 2024. I'm questioning why Kurtz, Tungate & Lampart have not been suspended1 point

You did however, between 8:45 on Monday and today make 7 (and counting) post throwing doubt on his injuries or questioning why he’s not been banned.1 point

Exactly, out of control not knowing the outcome of the move. That equates to very dangerous. That’s not how it should be done.1 point

Find a post of mine where I have mentioned any other Belle Vue rider past or present apart from Kurtz.1 point
-
I think the comparison isn't far off the mark. The very difference is rider's like Crump, Gollob, Rickardsson, Hamill, Sullivan etc would relish the challenge. Today, there's nobody out there up for the fight with Zmarzlik. Most just move out his way. Speedway is still dangerous of course but the SGP series has definitely gone soft vs 10+ years ago1 point
-
It's got nothing to do with Kurtz being a Belle Vue rider. The exact same offence has been committed by numerous riders this season and the same sanction has not been meted out to the riders. Covatti, Musielak, Basso & Pawlicki receive 28 day suspensions Meanwhile Kurtz, Tungate & Lampart have received no suspension... yet in the case of the last 2 I may have missed some riders is been so prevalent this season. And then there's the Doyle & Tungate "travel issues" debacle. There's just no consistency1 point

I might of posted this before but my first and only encounter with Roman was at Sheffield, I was at no7 I think for Oxford ? in as a guest and it was at the start of my career,I remember him staring at me over the pits, I was a nobody but I guess at that point he doesn’t know that,he just sees me a new threat,he just kept looking which was intimidating as I knew exactly who he was and his reputation, think it was in my second ride I was off gate one and him off gate 2, as soon as the tapes went up he just turned left putting me on the grass, I guess looking back he was just stamping his mark on me so as not to go near him not that I was at that level, when I heard of his mysterious death I imagined in my head that he was in some sort of fight on his own against 300 men in some foreign war and giving a good account of himself too, certainly a character and not too bad on a bike either1 point
-
Nail on the head, all my friends hate Sheffield because they say it’s boring but I quite enjoy the racing there and seeing the sheer speed they generate. Even when it’s a strung out race. Same at belle Vue. we all wish for 15 heats of incredible speedway but You will never get that. If you get 5 good races out of 15 you’ve done well these days.1 point

The way I saw it by the tapes was Jake committed a starting offence when his bike with a faulty clutch pulled him into the tapes when reving, whilst the green light was on. His bike only pulled forward when at max(ish) revs immediately before the tapes were due to rise. This was a starting offence for which he was disqualified. Starting offences are a singular event and nothing from that is carried forward throughout the meeting. Later in the meeting he received a warning for moving at the start resulting in an unsatisfactory start. Nowadays the ref can let the race continue even if he thinks the start was unsatisfactory. The decision on whether to restart a race is if the ref feels such movement impedes other riders. This came in when fans were disgruntled about repeated attempts to start a race. Warnings carry through a meeting and should Jake had moved again it would then be treated as a full on starting offence complete with disqualification.1 point
