Just to let everyone know, all that can be done is being done. We have had unprecedented amout of rain this month. Last Fri I pumped off any standing water, Saturday I let it dry , was best to stay off the track, you can do more harm than good if you try and work it while it's to wet. Sunday I worked the track for 6 hours, it was bladed several times, wheeled many times, spun in, then graded, finally packing it for an hour with the lorry, if I knew how to post a pic of how it looked on Sunday I would, it looked really good. Monday and today we have had nothing but rain! My pump has been working since a week last Sunday. Sam has been up today to get any surface water off, horrible job in the wet and cold. As soon as is possible the track will be worked on tomorrow and Thurs, we are trying, very hard !!4 points

We've got the NDL tail wagging the Championship dog. NDL teams shouldn't expect to race on the parent clubs race night unless the parent club is racing away that night. Similarly to have 2H and 2A, the principle of race night seniority needs to be revisited and changed such the senior club gets priority on the first meeting but not on the second meeting. All clubs will need to accept that they will have to race on their alternative racenight during the season.2 points

Then get rid of them, so the rest of us have a sport to watch. If we cave in to the lowest common denominator, we're all done anyway.2 points

Young Dan Ford is as soppy as his Father juding by his post on the Poole Website:- Poole promoter Dan Ford said: โWe know that nothing is actually won yet, but the boys were formidable at Scunthorpe on Sunday and have put us in a very strong position of being the only club to win this competition. Well you would be as its the first time the competiotion has been staged !!!!!2 points

I know it seems harsh to say that but theyโre the rules, he knows what he signed up for, itโs not just been dropped on him out of the blue2 points

That was hardly a choke. More a case of dodgy goings-on. Weather was terrible and the second leg was called off by Cradley around lunchtime, and all riders were informed. Then Cradley decided they would run in the rain after all, and reversed the call-off decision later in the afternoon. In those pre-mobile phone days Belle Vue couldn't get hold of all the team to tell them it was back on, and ended up having to borrow a couple of local juniors to make up a team. Then of course Peter Collins and Chris Morton were knocked off and put out of the meeting injured (Collins with the broken shoulder which would effectively end his career). That left Belle Vue with just Louis Carr and Pekka Hautamaki from the original team, and of course they were well beaten.2 points

Without the play offs, the season would just "fizzle out".. The "winners" of a league that has no real financial reward, nor any publicity outside its own bubble, will make their money (hopefully), by running a semi and a final that attracts maybe a couple of thousand more combined than they would have got for two "run of the mill" meetings at the end of the season... Sheffield won the league (or was it Leicester?), but I would say that more attended their play off than would have attended their league winning meeting (in fact I don't think they even had one as Leicester losing gave them top spot didn't it?) . The Aces were pretty much guaranteed a play off place and, around the SON time, their crowds dipped noticeably, (probably due to the cost of the SON tickets), therefore the play offs brought in much needed revenue... Not many speedway meetings (in the UK), look as if they "mean something" therefore the play offs at least give the sport some kind of purpose, and drama...1 point

The first paragraph is exactly what happened this year anyway, the top four were basically confirmed after two months of the season. This year is a great example of how the league system would have worked with it going down to the last meeting of the season to determine the champions1 point

The problem without the play offs is the season can be done really early for several teams or a dominant team can limp over the line with little to no fan fare. september is often a wet month so it almost needs a mini play off to decide the title end of August. UK speedway in the top flight would be virtually redundant without TV so for me Iโm happy to go along with the play offs like other sports do. Works for me.1 point

Firstly, I merely asked if Leicester should take Joe T back? Secondly, as Joe has gone from a sub 4 average to a 5.77 average (both while at reserve) does that not show great improvement? How has he "basically stalled his progress"? Thirdly, Sam has had a very decent season too, upped his average & got into the top 5 for Poole, but I'm sure every Poole & Leicester fan would admit his scores have dropped, that can't be denied. All I said was he had struggled recently, I didn't say he had struggled all season.1 point

In which case, he'd have got to Scunthorpe around 7pm - around the time the meeting was finished ๐ค๐1 point

I have always called them the P.Offs (and you can guess what my P means. Totally ridiculous driven only by the TV folks who want to televise the two meetings that decide who is the " top team" in the season. Decided on wet tracks in early winter, teams patched up with gusts due to injuries, all decided on a one off (or two off) set of meetings. Fine if its the KO Cup thats a knock out meeting, but teams performances over the season count for nought. With postponements and racing on off nights the meetings are a nightmare to organise. Rule fiddling to get fixtures P.Offs meetings agreed before the league fixtures are completed, Leicester's boglands track always seems to feature, Poole demanding that they have the second leg at home ...all causing fixture planning havoc and frankly devaluing the entire season jsut to win the P.Offs. If your are unlucky enough not to qualify for the P. Offs (its not easy with only 7 teams starting out in the race) then you season finishes some time in August . They'll never go cos' the TV people demand that they have a P.Off to make good viewing .. but why not still have League Champions, and the P.FFs could be renamed the TV Trophy or summat similar??1 point

Men just don't like women being involved in "their sport". It's as simple as that. No matter which way you look at it, it's sexism. Of course, there are bad female pundits but there's so absolute ๐คก male pundits too that have even 'Played the Game'. It's across ever male dominated sport1 point
