It ridiculous, let them pull out, we don’t need them in all 3 leagues. 8 teams with 28 league fixtures is a good number4 points

I think what i said about Jenkins has not come over correctly.... He was asked to join Lynn during last season as there were rumours Ipswich were moving him out of the 7, after speaking to Management on the rumours, and being told it was rubbish, he went back to Lynn and said Thanks, but No thanks as he wanted to stay at Ipswich. He was NEVER asked about joining Lynn as a R/S for the 2025 season....NEVER. Birmingham made an enquiry for 2025 to be their R/S, but at the time, it was unclear whether Jordan was going to be in the R/S list, so Birmingham made their move on Jason Edwards. Then Lynn picked Ashton, and that was always their 1st choice due to the fact Chris Harris had already agreed to ride for Lynn next season....So no Brainer. Then Oxford went for Killeen, leaving Ipswich with possibly Flint,Hagon,Mulford,Joe Thompson etc, but it was then agreed by Morris and his crew that Jordan would return to the R/S berth for 2025, and obviously he became Ipswich's R/S for 2025. At no stage has Jordan turned down a ride at any club, due to the fact he genuinely didn't know whether he was a R/S or not. They are simply the Facts of it all, and trust me im in a position where i know that is correct. If you ask me for my opinion on the R/S system how it works, then i agree with you all, i imagine phone calls and conversations go on behind the scenes, and sometimes it makes a mockery of the system, but i will defend Jordan, he didn't turn down a ride for any club, where i put not interested in joining Lynn, that was for last season not 2025.4 points

I don't understand that, surely if 8 clubs wanted 2 home & 2 away, they should just vote for that & Oxford stick to the Premiership (& NDL)? One less team would make 2 home & 2 away more feasible.3 points
-
Ridiculous that Oxford can hold the championship to ransom, let them run 2 teams and give us 2 home and 2 away3 points
-
1 home 1 away just because Oxford threatened to pull out of the championship because of running in 3 leagues this would be difficult for them Tail wagging the dog imo3 points

I’m sorry but anybody who believes Jordan Jenkins was available to Either Birmingham or Kings Lynn are incredibly naive.3 points

Yes please. He's young and over rides at times. However, having looking at both crashes I don't think he did anything wrong. Given better equipment I can really see him kicking on next season providing he is given the opportunity to do so in the Championship.3 points

Hasn't that always been the case though? Promoters saying "we've listened to the fans....." changed one little thing and ignored all the bigger issues. Same year after year.2 points

Brennan has been signed up, but I'm hearing that it's Danny King who makes way for him...2 points

Another thats almost been bred for success. Been racing since he was 6, a lot of parent and sponsorship funding providing the best equipment. No doubt theres talent but the bigger shock would be if he wasn't the "next big thing"2 points

Hopefully Vinnie Foord doesn't read this thread. But if he does I hope he just listens to those telling him to seek advice from more experienced riders, as opposed to those saying he did nothing wrong or calling him a lunatic.2 points

Another fixture list like last season will be a disaster for some Teams.Everything Rosy though in Promoter’s eyes.1 point

Absolutely no vision, no ambition and no competence being shown. Promoters?????.Think they would be better described as destroyers of the sport. I've had enough of them. I'm going to tear up this year's season ticket and bin it as a protest.1 point

Agreed, if he can iron out that shutting off issue with the help of Bomber then he’s the best rising star in the league by a long way1 point

Andersen rode 2 matches for Wroclaw in POL EXL - 7 rides 1.143 points per ride. Most of his rides were in the POL U24 league against most of the promising young Poles/Danes/Swedes/Czech riders. He was even higher than the likes of Rowe and all the other UK/Aussie young guys except Rew who is 5 years older. Anyway highly unlikely that such a class talent will ride in Champ.1 point

So, judging by the Redcar advance season ticket info in the Speedway Star, looks like Home and Away once and meaningless Trophy again? Not going to drag me back so it’s a No from me after 50 years!!!1 point

As we're a number of riders when they first started out ie Pedersen, Nicholls, Basso1 point

Ribbons is just using the Eagles approach as a way out and to try and martyr himself, he had no intent to run next season and the pennies have run out if he was to attempt it. Graham want to do the track only and who can blame him, he might be a stubborn begger at times but he has done far more for speedway in this country than most could ever get close to.1 point

I liked the good old days of racing with the 2 valves.Todays machines seem wrong for the tracks1 point

It does appear to be very technical to get it consistent for 15 Heats and one can appreciate that it's not an easy job. Needs banking on the bends, but I guess that's probably not possible with the dog track on the outside etc... Loved the old 'Shay' @ Halifax!1 point

I would guess Poole may look something like this for 2025 1. Lawson 9.17 2. 5.37? New 5.00 rider to UK? Mikkel .B. Andersen? 3. Zach Cook 6.23 4. Anders Rowe 6.11 5. Lewy Kerr 7.76 6. Paul Starke 3.36 7. Will Cairns 2.00/Another until the summer. Zach really need to step up next year as he hasn't this year (started 2024 with an average of 6.22) Again for me the product is weaker again, losing Ben and Tom and replacing with Kerr & Rowe. Banking on Kerr and Rowe improve but in a weaker league with less top riders they should certainly improve.1 point

The mags on Jawa and japs were quite temperamental, some worse than others, thing is back in the day they were used on pretty much every engine so you got many different makes and models used especially on japs, on the engines themselves having rebuilt a few japs now I’m surprised they lasted till the 60s, especially the early ones,,they were real flintstone technology, they didn’t have gaskets so oil literally came out of every join, obviously they weren’t back then because there was no such thing but the 2 chrome pushrod tubes on the front of the engine are now replaced with cut down shower curtain rails with a bit of bicycle inner tube in the bottom as a seal, when the 2 valve Jawa came along is was a massive step forward in quality and reliability1 point

Then you sign a 'sacrificial lamb' on a low average at reserve for the first weeks of the season and plan your fixtures accordingly.😀1 point

I'm not going to comment on your views of Boughen and Coles. One thing I can say is that Jack Smith gave 100% for Glasgow and suggesting that if Boughen continues to perform the way he has done recently he would end up like Jack is out of order.1 point

I understand it, its Daniel Smith and his usual negativity towards anything Kings Lynn do.1 point

It’s clear from the video evidence Vinnie Foord wasn’t at fault for either incident at Poole. In heat two he was up the inside of Killeen. Killeen then attempted to go around Vinnie but went for a gap that wasn’t there. And his front wheel went through Vinnies footrest, showing he was half a bike down at the time of the collision. As for the crash with Jody Scott, it’s clear Vinnie got up the inside of Scott off the 4th bend and Scott panicked, turned into Foord crossing the start line, causing the crash. Ford’s line never changed as can be seen in the BSN footage. Scott should have been excluded. Think that clears everything up concisely so time to lock this ridiculous thread.1 point

Season ticket holders of the Brummies will have free access to Warwickshire County Championship cricket matches whilst Warwickshire members will be able to attend speedway fixtures at Perry Barr in a reciprocal agreement. So regardless of which sport you like to watch, you could just buy the cheaper season ticket then? But realistically fans would probably want to support their "own" team.1 point

So as reported in today's local Echo, Vinnie Foord received death threats from Oxford 'fans' during Thursdays track walk!! Just not on is it1 point

Great post! Looking at the averages in the championship the other day asking where are the next line of heat leaders coming from. Doubling up seems to have taken away the mid level riders in the lower division that step up once the top boys move on. The RS should have been at that level to push the riders we've lost over the last 5/10 years into the second string/3rd heat leader roles. Think you nailed it with the Simon Lambert example. Poland haven't seen many of their top level juniors kick on at the world stage as expected but they are still performing at a very good standard in their domestic leagues. From the u21 final 10 years ago, only Ellis, Howarth and Coles are still riding. Phillips and Mountain were meeting reserves and the only ones still with a league place from the qualifier. The Polish junior final that year had, Musielak, Pieszczeck, Przedpelski, Gomolski, Zmarzlik, Smektala, Woryna, Pawlicki, Wozniak, Gala and Cyfer.1 point
