I didn’t think Birmingham could make that team worse… but fair play to them, they’ve managed it 👍🏻5 points

Oh dear 😅 Knew Zagar wouldn’t return as soon as he went missing for the “visa”. Unfortunately think overall they’re even weaker now. I know there’s not many riders around though, but hard to see where the next win will come from. Castagna Is a decent rider in the championship but as a swap for a heat leader he is going to get eaten alive. Hume is in very poor form this season also so not sure it’s an improvement on Vuolas. it’s hard to see where the next win will come from for the Brummies, even Oxford are better. Very weak team now.5 points

God them replacements are shocking, I would've atleast maybe looked at bringing back palm toft (not sure if his still riding) or worrall at 6. At this rate when MJJ goes or Musielak downs tools we will replace them with James Shanes and Adam Kirby4 points

I don't think Birmingham would even win the 2nd tier with the side they have now3 points

Maybe the possibility of a wildcard to the GP at Belle Vue isn't that attractive to some?!3 points

4 riders in the British Final and 4 riders in the U21 Final, pretty good going for our riders3 points

Comfortable win for a 5 man Bears team in the end. Not a great meeting - took ages to get going, medical emergency, faulty tapes and two crashes in the first 2 heats meant it took an age to run the first few races. Horrible crash in heat 2 after Foord/Spencer got tangled and Pijper ran over Spencer. Be surprised if we see either of the Bears reserves tomorrow. Rowe was an excellent guest and Mulford and Edwards continued their good home form. Wrights pass in Heat 15 was the highlight of the night on a slick track. For the Comets there were flashes from Zischke and Bowes. Batchelor was his usual self, fine if he gated, gave up if he didn’t.2 points

It’s unfortunate, but it’s short season can’t afford too carry riders who look well of the pace.He certainly was struggling whether it was confidence or injury.2 points
-
No he didn’t ride cause he believes it should be over a few rounds like most national championships instead of a one off on a track he knows he’s not going to win on. Very similar reasons as to why Ritchie Worrall never bothered a few years back.2 points

Good to know you've switched allegiance to Glasgow or did you mean to say 'If I was a Glasgow fan I'd be concerned about Ashton's start to the season with falls, bike problems and injuries affecting his scoring, but as I'm not a Glasgow fan I'm not really bothered just thought I'd post something negative as that's what being a Berwick fan does to you.'2 points

Wightlink Warriors Update. Barry and I would like to update all our volunteers, fans, sponsors and riders on the 2025 season. As everyone knows, running any event on the Isle of Wight has its own challenges and speedway is no different, but what we can tell you is that we are continuing to work with Wightlink Ferries to find a mutually agreeable support package that ensures we can operate this season as well as securing the future for the club going forward into next year and beyond. Since restarting the speedway in 2016, we have received tremendous support from Wightlink, but it is recognised that circumstances do change, and discussions are taking longer this year than in the past, however we do hope to be able to update you all in the very near future. We recognise that we are well past the point where we normally have fixtures arranged, sponsors in place, teams announced; so frustration will be present amongst our valued volunteers, and those sponsors and supporters both on the Island and those on the mainland trying to book holidays to coincide with the speedway season. Apologies are offered for these delays to those that choose the Isle of Wight for their holiday destination expecting to enjoy their “fix” of speedway on the longest track in the country. When the deal with Wightlink is finalised, we will have to make some rapid decisions and will need the support of everyone if the decision is made to progress. We sincerely hope that a positive outcome can be achieved and communicated to you all shortly.2 points

Very true, but there are certain fundamental reasons for the continued success... The Poles ensure each rider, (whether good, bad or indifferent), belongs to one team only in each league, and doesnt get shared around on an adhoc basis and whim... Meaning each rider rides for "your team" which can then generate that ultra important sporting tribal following... When you attend a Polish meeting you are attending a proper, bona fide sporting contest, with consequence resulting from the outcome... The Poles will have seen what the UK did from the early 80's, when they ruled the roost, and won't make the same mistakes the promoters have done over here since... When you are sat in a 20,000 crowd in Poland a very high percentage of fans are under 40, never mind 60, with many "kids" in attendance... Keeping that atmosphere that gets created by a large crowd, is key to the continued growth of any sport... Hence the UK's downwords spiral in the last few decades, as many promoters allowed their crowds to drop by their actions....2 points

Well done the Bears whose top 5 were stronger than Comets tonight. Gating was generally crucial and like last week not a drop of water went onto the track during what turned out to be an extended meeting. Great ride from Charles Wright who bust a gut to unsettle Batch and execute a fine pass in heat 15. Congratulations to Fraser Bowes on his first heat win in British Speedway , a much improved start from the young Aussie resulted in a tapes to flag win over a previously unbeaten Anders Rowe. Tate was looking more like his old self as the meeting wore on, won't be long until he takes the chequered flag in front. Jye took a hefty fall after being the meat in the sandwich on turn one heat 1 , hope he isn't too bashed about.1 point

Good performance from Kildemand, Kemp, Hume and Wood. Hagon cost us again, I feel for him, done well in heat 12, hopefully he can get some points tomorrow and Sunday.1 point

Redcar excellent tonight! Solid performance from 1-5. Great choice of guest in Rowe, he scored what Erik would have on a very slick track. Wright's ride in fifteen was worth the admission alone. He found speed where no one else could. The Comets no doubt where race rusty but they will sharpen up with more matches.1 point

When MJJ goes this month (when Swedish season start) watch Zagar’s visa be OK and him come back like a rat up a drainpipe wanting his £3k a meeting increasing to £4k holding Birmingham to ransom to ensure they have some sort of team to put out1 point

From when I’ve seen Boughen ride live and on tv he’s never wanted to ‘mix it’ in the first bend rolling off seems the be the common thought process for him If he hasn’t gated, being fast tracked after his moto-x and not having much opportunity to go through likes of NDL and get used to the hurly burly first bends it’s sort of biting him in the arse now with riding with better riders generally it’s 3 or 4 riders all there wanting similar space at same time. Think it’s going to have to be a patience thing with him and just know he could be a 0,3,0 type of rider until something clicks with him with the tough first bends. If he gates as people have said he looks fast as, so there’s definitely something there to work with1 point

They’ve replaced a heat leader and a reserve, with a reserve and Hume. Assuming this requires approval by the BSPL, can the BSPL then fined Brum for fielding an under strength team?! 😂1 point

I think you are underestimating the Bandits slightly, Kemp Is flying and is a top 15 guy in the league now imo Wood will pinch points off more than Marson if we aren’t gating sharp against him and Hume knows his way round Armadale. So if Kildemand gets to grip early and Hagon/Smith chip in with a few it won’t take much for Berwick to be right in it1 point

And I am very pleased to announce that I will be back on commentary this season.1 point

I have criticised LR in the past, however this according to Dean is absolutely no fault of the Club or rider, the fault lies with the UKVI, seems Zagar would be better off coming over on a boat, he might even get provided with a new bike if he did that 🫠.1 point

Quite right.....not that his scores have helped B'ham win any meetings!? As for not getting the paperwork done efficiently ? look who's in charge? is it any wonder? Totally amateur as usual!1 point

I don't agree with the sprint races & the fact that they offer extra points. Now the qualification as I understand for the Semi finals is from 3rd to 10th with the top two straight to the final. I can't argue with the top two moving to the big race but I think it would be better for a last chance for the next 4. potentially a GP winner could finish on 6 points or even less to get the top points + the sprint race points. FIASCO!!!1 point

Ribbons is just using the Eagles approach as a way out and to try and martyr himself, he had no intent to run next season and the pennies have run out if he was to attempt it. Graham want to do the track only and who can blame him, he might be a stubborn begger at times but he has done far more for speedway in this country than most could ever get close to.1 point
