  1. Painful to see sides ravaged by injuries and absences, especially at this end of the season. Jason Edwards isn’t a number one and Dayle Wood isn’t a number four; he’s a reserve. If Morris is out too, then it’s verging on ‘what’s the point’ territory. I’ve no idea what the solution is. We have a key fixture against Poole tonight and we’ve got Anders Rowe who is highly probable to give us a Drew Kemp level of guest performance. Meanwhile, Poole are missing Rushen and no-one seems to know why. The losers are the fans and when that keeps happening, the sport is edges closer to somewhere we don’t want it to be.

  2. Well that was a cracking meeting, didn't really expect to win, but I will take that. Freddy was great, looked aggressive in his riding for a change, expensive night for him, heard he burnt 3 clutches. Kevin was annoyed at going through the tapes, it happens. Sam, what can I say, feel for the lad but he really has lost his way. Bomber and Leon fab, have got us out of a hole last 4 meetings. Thanks to Anders Rowe and Anze Grmek for guesting, done a fair job. For Poole, Cairns was very fast out the traps and I would have put him in heat 15, was impressed with Lightcap, very good points and exciting to watch. Hope the Poole fans have a pleasant journey home, managed to say hello to bluekevin at the end.

  6. This is going to be controversial I know. However, with the West Midlands now being overseen by a Mayor, albeit Street seemed to have far more reach than Parker, and with Birmingham, Cradley Heath and Wolverhampton being within that wider West Midlands and Birmingham Area poses the £64,000 question that will undoubtedly be unpalatable for many but pragmatically the future of West Midlands Speedway. Should the 3 very enthusiastic but separate Groups , all of whom deserve massive massive credit, not form togather to go to the Mayor with a far more compelling vision seeking a central location? While at it that bloke who has been Mayor Of Manchester for a while seems to have a fair bit of clout too?

  8. Since Doubling Up became the rule, rather than the exception, Guestfests have become the norm... When riders rode for one team only, and got injured, or were unwell, meaning they may be out of seven days or so, they had more time to be ready for their next meeting... Nowadays a rider injured on Monday can need a Guest replacement on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday... The lack of UK rider development, particularly in the 2nd tier as foreign journeymen after journeymen got brought in via a revolving door, has simply led to too few riders...

  10. Just add it in here once again for anyone who laughed at my post before. Ellis should have replaced Lawson.

  13. Agree about Loram, clouting & Lanham should also add in Moggo such a cult figure back in the day.

  16. He certainly wasn’t, he was being shown up by Ellis and he looked slow. The fact one of his 4-2s came from him being last and Douglas getting out of shape shows that. It’s not even just his points, it’s his whole attitude which is laughable. He should go to Poole and stay there as far as I am concerned.

  20. I did actually write the book. Ken is shown as co-author because a) it was his idea to write the book b) he provided a number of the illustrations, c) he had the contacts with former riders, promoters etc. who he put me in touch with and d) he gave me some first hand information on the later years . But I actually wrote the book.

  21. If he's paid bonus points, which by his scoring over the last decade would suggest, he clearly does. Makes himself employable in each league each season on 'bargain averages' 55 BPs in 2025 60 in 2024 56 in 2023 and 40 so far this year. His riding average is always around half a point more than his GSA, you can't fault him on it in a sport with silly team building rules. Dare I say it, if there was a squad system/no average limits, he probably kicked on a lot more than he as

  23. Which is probably why Cairns appears to be much more consistent than Rushen at Poole. Lawson happy to sit behind him in third or second to help keep his average down

  24. Looking forward to this, but gutted Rushen won’t be riding. Can’t see past a Pirates win. They’re so strong from top to bottom and even without Rushen, don’t have any weak spots. I think our best hope is that Lightcap and Newman struggle. Don’t rate Rowe who is a serious downgrade on Howarth IMO, but I hope I’m wrong and that he can carries his British final form into tonight. We need a massive improvement from Hagon and Hodder if we’re to take anything from the meeting.

  25. Possibly the toughest meeting to predict. I’ll go 45-45 or even a narrow Glasgow win. Poole will be more than happy with the bonus point I’m sure

  27. Ellis has been impressive in his last two Foxhall meetings but I can’t recall him being that consistent over two meetings before. It’s the best I think I’ve ever seen him ride. It’s clear he has a point to prove & will certainly have given Mayfield something to think about. They will also have seen how good Adam is to have around the team in terms of generating spirt. I think he has proven why he frustrates me so much to, clearly a very very good rider in there & one that could develop into a major force if he could find that level of consistency. Would I have him back at Foxhall in 27 100% yes! Mayfield will have so tough decisions to make over the winter in terms of who to leave out & bring in.

  28. Considering what's happened to the other two, I'd imagine Mr Park is sh1tting himself right now!

  30. Hopefully Glasgow keep it respectable. Poole look solid throughout so hopefully Hagon and Hodder can improve on last week.

  34. Genuinely an appealing looking line-up in its current guise. Obviously Nicholls looks unlikely to feature but IF the others all attended it could produce a strong show for anyone willing to travel on a Wednesday night however i suspect the big book of excuses will be rolled out once again and what could be a spectacular night will just turn into a shambles.

Bang average Leszno side need to take full advantage of their entire season's worth of luck because 2027 isn't looking good for them with the rumoured retirement of Kolodziej as well as Zengi's departure. Rumoured Main Body is.... Ben Cook Bartlomiej Kowalski Nazar Parnicki (U24) Piotr Pawlicki Keynan Rew

  41. £500k of work needed was quoted in the Speedway Star..... You would think, say £3k to £5k rent from the Speedway each meeting, a fair nunber of times per season, would make it much more viable...
