  1. its not just the mail. the on line version of the supposed 'quality' Guardian has a picture of Lee lying on the track with two medics at his side. I havent had a reply to my mail to them either.

  3. what is it with these gate positions? Is one team always given so many 2 and 3's in the first part of the meeting? Surely they should be more evenly spread
  4. he didnt take him to the fence imo though - it was barely mid track.
  5. glad Im not the only one who thought that. I was surprised at the exclusion (Im watching on delay, only just got to it lol)
  6. bloody hell Fred Elliot has been re-incarnated, I say, Fred Elliot has been re-incarnated
  7. montie, dont know the answer to your question but there is a way it can be done in the UK in what they consider exceptional circumstances. A friends son was allowed to take on an apprenticeship at 15 but it needed the permission of the school and education authority and an undertaking from his potential employer on attendance etc. It was because he was born at the end of the year so couldnt legally leave school til December but the apprenticeship started, in line with college, in the September. I know they had to go to meetings with the education authorities before it was approved but given the lads lack of academic prowess and that he had been doing weekends at the place it was authorised. presumably in Aus they can go through a similar process and get time away from School if its seen as something they can realistically do for a living
  8. A few years ago I would have agreed with you. That was before I became aware of the number of young riders who would plead in the speedway star for a PL place and moan about not getting a chance but fail to mention they had previously turned down the offer of a PL place with northern clubs (the *real* north I mean!). its a great idea in principal but in practice it would never work and all you would do is further open up the north south divide its a forged birth cert he would need as has already been pointed out quite a few times. He doesnt turn 16 until the end of October so wont be turning out for the Witches or any other PL club
  9. Fantastic news. I have always had a soft spot for Mildenhall - one of the first 'away' set of fans I came across and without a doubt amongst the most passionate and friendly. Delighted to hear these guys have their team back again, enjoy, I'm sure you will
  10. Sadly Nev and the hour long speedway show on Fremantle stopped quite some time ago now. I really miss it too, it was a great way of keeping up with some of the stuff that didnt get posted on forums or covered elsewhere
  11. Newport have an excellent long established unofficial forum, thats where I would expect you will find the majority. An official forum seems an unnecessary addition when there is already a well established one
  12. I've been trying as well Danish Star - they seeem to want to keep things quiet over that neck of teh woods! I'll let you know if I find anything out - let me know if you beat me to it!
  13. Normally I would agree with you Craig but I honestly believe that Tai is not the 'norm'. He has something very special in the way of talent on a bike but also has superb focus and attitude. Once in a generation you may be lucky to get something out of the ordinary and Tai could just be 'it'. Far more mature in speedway terms than many in their 20's imo and I am not at all upset at the future of British Speedway being with him! Personally if people start to realise it (especially certain comentators and team managers) I think it will be a step forward
  14. I think they might be having streaming problems. Theres always live updates as the next best thing USA wolf http://speedwayupdates.proboards103.com/in...2820&page=1
  15. If you can't get anything Barry, live updates are covering it and have all the banter as well at http://speedwayupdates.proboards103.com/in...2820&page=1 I know its not quite the same as watching it but its the next best thing
  16. I've called you many things BTL but I can safely state 'pure' was never one of them!
  17. you've been VERY slow on the uptake Spinny - not like you!
  18. I only heard what came over the telly but we were saying as we were watching it that whoever was doing the music deserved an award - it was superb, the most relevant I've ever heard, a touch of humour, obviously a lot of thought and as for when Chris Harris was walking back to the pits after breaking his nose, that was absolutly amazing. You could almost see him growing taller as he walked, I reckon it definitely gave him the lift he needed as well as the crowd. Last time I was there is was the same boring 2 or 3 tracks all the time. This year we were listening more to the background at the end of races to see what little gem you were coming up with this time! Well done mate, you'd definitely gat my vote
  19. I'm not sure I agree with that M08 but can I just make the point its actually THREE occassions that Pedersen has had the benefit of the dodgy referee - he touched the tapes earlier in the meeting and got away with it
  20. I don't really see that he could have named any different a squad - the 12 he has named are probably the best we have which says much more about the state of British speedway than Mr Lynch At least he hasn't got a squad full of old timers - he's trying to encourage the ones we are going to have to rely on for teh next few years to avoid a humping cos lets face it we aren't going to be anwhere near the top Teamwise on the night, well I am slightly different. Nicholls and Harris yes, depending on the track Stead, I would definitely bring in Woffinden - he is a great talent and unique in that imo you can afford to put the pressure on him and he will thrive from it. Fifth rider is perm any one from 3 or 4 imo. I don't like Kennet, I don't think Bridger should be an option. From a heart ruling the head point of view I'd love to see Will get in but being realistic thats not an option either. Looks like Lee Richardson then! Thing is I can't see it improving for quite a few years - until grass roots speedway gets the attention it needs in this country we are always going to struggle. Even if they DO get a grip on it, it would take a good 5 years for it to bear fruit so we'd best get used to being also rans
  21. been asked to post the url for the live updates/chat its at http://speedwayupdates.proboards103.com/in...84599818&page=1
  22. Absolutely Bloody Brilliant! Congratulations to Cornwall's British GP Winner Chris Harris, as someone has already said he doesn't know the meaning of the phrase 'to give up'. A thoroughly deserving winner.
  23. RIP Kenny and God Bless Thoughts and prayers are with those left behind
