Ipswich vs Sheffield 19/8/24
GeneralMelchett replied to Fozzie4388's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Track is tricky - nothing like it was on thurs last week! Witches might regret dropping these points early on! and who the heck is doing the scores! Bewley seems to be enjoying the track however -

Every rider would like it be so yes but at Foxhall from when I’ve seen him ride at is a fair number of times now he is generally out of the gate very quickly, often frustratingly so! -

Was going to say yes was pretty convinced I saw that on TV!! Can see a repeat but Ipswich have at least got Bewley as a decent guest so could be close! Batch will score a few but not as many as Ellis would -

Yes, I've always liked it as a race track - i do feel it could benefit from being wider but we've done that topic already! -

I think he was being facetious to make a point, I fully understand people make comment without facts or evidence - Ipswich in my view is wider than Sheffield, but i could be wrong. However I have been going to Sheffield off and on since 1998 and I don't ever really recall shale piled up by the fence but maybe I haven't been concentrating - wether that made the accident worse or not I can't say! We should all just be glad Emil wasnt seriously injured! -

Depends I suppose if you were there! For the record he locked up on the 1st 2nd bend on lap 2 - maybe hit a rut I am not sure, or simply rider error. Rew did a similar fall there in heat 4 -

Thanks - glad his shoulder and or wrist seem good then! He was down for a while and you feared the worst when he withdrew. Hopefully he will be back and fully able to race in 09 days then -

Being honest it cost them as Kemp was pretty ineffective if they reach the playoff final then there reserves may well cost them! -

Disaster for the Witches but a very good night for the Lions. I think we can safely say that the Witches chances are now probably over. I hope Adam is back for Monday but at the moment their three best riders at Foxhall are injured. -
I am hoping they have a replacement plan for Jason and praying that Emil is back - I am reminded that TM supposidly asked for a team place for 2024 before ending up at KL for a while - maybe he might be a good play off signing. Am looking forward to Foxhall ion Thursday regardless my first meeting for a while!

Gonna stick my neck out and say could be a very narrow home win! No pressure on the Witches for this one if they lose no one will blame them, If Scott rides like we know he can then he could get a hatfull. Adam and Danny need to be really on it as well. I expect Keynan and Jordan to outscore their counterparts. Track will be very dry and dusty so factor in the gating! -
In the end a much better match than expected - KL had a good go ultimately not strong enough and last 3 heats saw the Aces run away with it a bit which belies the effort the Stars made - Hope you enjoyed it!

If you are going to deploy the 'not fit for british tracks line' then best its not used on the NSS as its possibly the most Polish of tracks out there! Can't see an anything other than a big home win here which means as a neutral I may just watch the highlights after. But lets hope its a cracker! Maybe KL have the advantage at reserve!

Danny’s was bend 2 - there is a cracking video on you tube of Lee Complin riding the same line a few years back - someone’s testimonial I think - don’t think the dirt line was piled up against the fence like it was last night. found it it was Garry Stead’s benefit -

I had this discussion on here before I even suggested could they widen the track as the football pitch no longer is used it was suggested it wasn’t an option - -

I don't feel the Witches will repeat their win from earlier but it might well be close - should be good and I plan to be there anyway.
