  1. Oh, I don't remember him. What year would that have been? I was thinking more Sam Ermolenko, Greg and Billy, Janniro, Fisher, Wells etc. Even though 3 of them never rode for Poole they all seemed to score well. Edit - aarggh and Luke Becker of course! 16 points at reserve when he came with Wolves in 2019. How could I forget that!
  2. I'm sure he'll be aiming to get 2 league titles as a farewell present!!
  3. When they mention thunderstorms it never seems to rain. Well that's what it's like down here anyway! Thursday forecast was rain (dry all day) Friday forecast cloudy but dry (raining on and off all day.) Today big band of rain over the South (one light shower). Personally I would never listen to a weather forecast 100%. But then I don't own a speedway club!
  4. Not sure they'd go for that! How much would be lost through admission, programme and food/bar sales??!
  5. Bit unfair, everyone has an off night Starman, Rory has been scoring well all season.
  6. Ummm, no! I'm glad they don't do this. Poole can stay top a little bit longer.
  7. You know Poole ride at home too right? I only just have time to do those ones. You think I have time to go to Redcar?! But even if I had only been to one home meeting all year, that is still one more than you have ever done
  8. If only, I've been plenty this year. Being in the Champ does that or you miss seeing certain opposition teams. Bit different to the Prem when we used to see a team up to 4 times at home (Swindon).
  9. Cook's injury probably played on his mind and can't blame him for that especially when he just came back 2 days ago. Is Redcar a track Rory normally struggles at (I know every rider has one!) Or maybe just an off night?
  10. Are you trying to be ironic? People comment on televised meetings all the time. You comment on the Poole track and you don't go so.....
  11. Can't get much closer than that! I feel like we threw it away, being 8 points up from home and losing. But will wait to see what the Redcar fans say as maybe they were just better in the end!
  12. "Tough night for everyone. Feel for the travelling @TigersSpeedway fans and everyone involved with K/L Speedway. We are united as a team in our belief the right decision was made. We look forward to returning when a restaging date is confirmed and the track is safe for racing." Simon Stead twitter
  13. Hmm, but I would have thought as a ref you would be more persuaded by the home team as they ride there every week. However the ref might already have an idea in their mind when the track is not fit to ride. Do you know who the ref was?
  14. Hume wouldn't have and I don't think Harris would either. Not sure how Nielsen feels about wet conditions. I'm guessing it was one of them 3 who were happy to do it.
  15. When isn't he pissed off! He should have got 2 riders from each team to agree to have some practice laps after he finished working on it.
  16. Well as you say if the ref already said it was off, not much point having a spin!
  17. Unless they want to test someone out for next season? But most riders on a near 9 point average will already have a club. Also might get a few more people in the gate if they changed it? Harsh on whoever makes way though.
  18. Nothing wrong with the track. Yes it was dusty from heats 1-10. Mainly because it was overcast all day and they were probably worried about it raining. Can you imagine if they watered it and we had a KL/Sheffield situation on our hands! They did get the water truck out in the break and was a lot better from H11 onwards, passing and everything! But seeing as you are all track experts maybe you can sort it out for next week?
  19. Oh, did he not leave Ipswich on good terms? Well he is my 10yo second fave rider behind Danny King and mainly because his name sounds like slime! I'm not even going to get in to explaining to her that they are on oppsing teams tonight, will leave it til she's been attending for a season first before i start confusing her with all the rules! But I will go for a Wolves win especially if Broc continues his form from last night.
  20. As much as I like Batch, I wouldn't really blame Sheffield for trying to get Chris Holder in the team. Hardly going to do any worse. Good move by Sheffield to put Batch at no2 tonight though, should get something in H8? Edit - also some riders when struggling want to quit the team, maybe Batch has asked to do that? But they wanted him to stay til Chris is ready...? I remember it happening with Josh G and Bjarne. Also Richie Worrall i think did have a convo with Matt once about if you want to replace me i understand (or words similar). But luckily Josh and Richie were convinced to stay and their form improved. Maybe that happened with Batch too but hasn't been able to sort it out. Which is weird considering his form is good for Kent.
