  1. Another sad outcome, I always remember his 18 points haul( or something around that figure) against Eastie in a proper NL a few seasons ago with Eastie at their best thinking he was was the best away rider I'd seen there, especially as it was his first time there. Always thought at the same young age at Arlington not much between Woffinden and Bridger, funny how thing's pan out.
  2. Agree he's already riding above his average, and you know whatever he scores you'll get 100% effort.
  3. Would have thought he would be, young, met, maybe exceeded expectations and will only get better.
  4. Like a rusty old cannon springs to mind.....apart from rocket launcher Basso.
  5. Assuming he sticks to his guns, Bjarne Pedersen basically managed his career perfectly, what a way to finish it on the high of last season and not pursue another season because of it.
  6. Zager did at Eastbourne for a season and averaged well over 8, and I remember Nicki Pedersen saying his years at Arlington helped him become a better rider on all tracks, and with the likes of him, Loram etc as our heat leaders certainly had some exciting races on our tight track. Think it says more about the standard of rider and bike tuning today than the tracks really.
  7. I'm not a reading the rules type of person, but if these are the only rules on the subject pretty much nailed on BV have adheared to the rules as written. I only watch Premiership on the TV, but with the lack of top line riders over here, I'd still rather see Zagar here than not, even though with age past his best, but still something of a draw for both sets of fans.
  8. Seems to be the norm at the moment, big away losses/ big home wins. Always thought a team that loses no more than 50/40 away always has a chance over 2 legs, lose 60/30 away and 99% of the time its game over. Don't think Poole and Glasgow will have any 60/30 losses this season, but probably be the only 2.
  9. Maybe CL and NL teams as before? If the cost of running a NL team on fairly frugal gates is thought to cover the cost of it, in addition to a hopefully successful CL team. Maybe we'll find another Brennen, Abblit, Edward's etc that we lost last season. My thoughts are still the best scenario would be similar to H Gould's thoughts, enter a league somewhere between the current level of both leagues with about 10/12 teams.
  10. I think generally it was if the NL was as it was in 2018, that level was good and sustainable and helped by Eastie being successful. At current levels as you say think it doughtful one would hope.
  11. Like we had a few seasons ago that produced Brennen/Palin etc. From the outside seemed to be a concerted effort to lower the standard of the NL from the higher level promotions as it was pretty successful, and they didn't seem to want any encroachment on 'their' leagues. Still at least we have the successful Premiership Junior league.....
  12. I've always thought unless r/r comes into play let both reserves have their first 3 programmed rides as per their starting number and then see what's what , who's going best etc.
  13. Always think calm clear cold dry nights are good as long as you go dressed accordingly. Good visabilty under the lights and normally the track stays pretty consistent throughout the meeting.
  14. Harris going to be the busiest rider by far in British speedway again this season, but to be honest not many wouldn't want him as a guest. Hope bikes and body survive ok....
  15. It seemed more, anyway look after the 3 from last year's Easties team, hopefully we'll have them back next year....
  16. Really pleased Lawson quickly shut up the negative posts quite a few Poole fans had with him before the season started.
  17. Sorry, after I posted I thought I was wrong, but what a speedway dynasty.
  18. Its about 20 minutes work for the 4 days, the rest poncing around or asleep in his van, or watching his mechanic get his bikes ready, hard life...
  19. I think the stadium is owned by the Dugards( Eric and his wife?), but last year's speedway business was 'run' by primarily Ian Jordon. That's why everything should be back up and running next year, stadium still owned by people who want speedway to continue, will need some good promoting from Trevor Geer etc though, but at least the people involved next year will be Eagles through and through.
  20. Suppose the only bad luck in 2000 was to come up against the best team Eastbourne had ever produced at any time in their history and just edged it, but it was close and both were way ahead of anyone else that season. Although KL had Crump and Adams topping the averages, Eastbourne had 5 riders average between 7 and 9.6, and all British in a proper Elite league.....
  21. That's a bit negative, think you better shaddup your face, although if BWD doesn't improve its goodnight Vienna to any hope of a No1 slot.
  22. He still looks like a top grass tracker on a speedway track which is what he is really.
