  1. I would be happy for the win too but it should be said their bottom end look weak, without the issues K Lynn had their lower order riders scores would have very low.
  2. It would seem Kings Lynn had some bad luck but it also could be said Boughen should have withdrawn after his fall so Harris could have taken heat 8.
  3. That is a translation issue I would imagine.
  4. I appreciate the economics of cancelling Cardiff but I actually thought the racing last year was pretty good and crowds would have increased whereas the previous year the racing was poor so crowds were down. The racing at Belle Vue will be good but to pay more to sit in a stand at a poorer venue is not great value.
  5. You would imagine Ipswich must be sick of the sight of Lambert!
  6. Poole always tried to improve the team during the season back in the days when we were in the top league. Never saw anything wrong with it but we were always slated for doing it .
  7. Yes it was the awful crash at Coventry, I was there and I spoke Chris Holder couple of years ago and he said he didnt think he would make it and I think a lot of us thought that in the stadium. Guests are a necessary evil because it is the only affordable way. I expect Lambert would have been only too pleased to help Ipswich if it had been allowed.
  8. Not quite, Hancock was not World Champion at the time and I believe his first meeting for Poole was early August.
  9. Well gating is half the battle, Kemp is a decent rider though and should be able to score well.
  10. Morals in sport! Yes most of the trouble comes from how the rules are written. It doesn't take much for a highly paid lawyer to find a loophole. Years ago I thought it would mean more if we won the play offs and topped the final table because some would say we only won the play offs not the league but I don't think anyone cares about that anymore so all we worry about is getting in to the play offs.
  11. When he rode for Poole seemed to have an attitude problem but definitely has ability and if he continues this form could be a terrific signing.
  12. This fixture should be on BSN I would have thought as the first leg was.
  13. Ipswich were unlucky with injuries ,if you build the team around riders like Emil and Doyle, if they get injured they are irreplaceable, maybe they could of coped with one injured but both was just too much. The play offs are here to stay because they make an exciting end to the season and make a lot of money for the clubs involved. Nobody remembers the team that came top only the play off winners.
  14. Not to mention the year when they had to get Robert lambert in.
  15. It remains to be seen how he will fare over the season but I am not a Lewis Kerr fan and would rather have had Dan T who is an improving rider.
  16. So pleased to see Dan Thompson going well, I would have liked him at poole this year but unfortunately we got Kerr, big mistake in my view.
  17. So pleased for Danny King, he gets so much undeserved flak on here but proved the doubters wrong yet again.
  18. Yes I seem to remember last year Kurtz was very good at Foxhall.I think Lidsey and Blodorn have had decent meetings there too.
  19. I think he will be pretty good at Belle Vue but Ipswich can be tricky for the inexperienced although he wont be short of advice.
  20. All depends on Doyle and Emil being fully fit to race on full power but even on full power Kurtz and Bewley will be tough to beat home or away. Brennan is the key rider, I would fancy him to beat Lidsey, Ellis should beat Blodorn and King should beat Zach at Ipswich but at Belle Vue may be a different story. I can see Zichke beating Thompson at belle Vue but could be the other way round at Ipswich, Jenkins should beat Mulford home and away. Overall I don't see much between the teams and a few ifs and buts so it will be close.
  21. Speedway cannot compete with other sports so has to run midweek meetings. If you make people choose between other more popular sports and speedway crowds would be even worse. At Poole midweek works well and most fixtures are well attended.
  22. They are the best side but they had serious injuries, hope they are back to somewhere near their best, there are no guarantees. There are some who think everything is against Belle Vue who are also one of the best teams.
  23. Hope so! But realistically it should be close with Ipswich just sneaking it overall. Unfortunate for Ipswich to draw Belle Vue this early in the season with their best riders just returning from serious injury.
