  1. Gutted! Another good Scunny v Sheffield meeting, good racing but shame about the result! Can’t believe we led for 14 heats and then lost
  2. Phew!! Glad they managed to stop the rot(ish) for the last meeting. Missed this and the last couple of meetings due to work and holidays, hoping that we come back bigger and better next year.
  3. Why are people banging on about riders not being paid? Here and on Facebook. There is absolutely no evidence or suggestion that is the case, fairly sure if it was that one of the riders or those associated with them would have said something by now. As for blaming Steady!! What has he done wrong??? Won the league last year and everybody thought he was the best manager ever - tactically aware, great in the pits with the riders etc. This year, we didn’t have as good a team arguably, especially with losing Josh B before a wheel was turned, but we’ve done ok at home for the most part until the last month (and there hasn’t been a word said against him prior to that) - can’t see that Stead has changed over night and turned him Into the worst manager ever as some seem to suggest.
  4. My mum always told me that if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all - if other people’s mums said the same I’m guessing it is going to be very quiet on here!
  5. Just hope there is a team next year - Mole already commented a while back about the stick they were getting and some of the comments on Facebook etc wouldn’t exactly entice me (if I was in their position) to bother risking my cash just to get abuse
  6. Really don’t see how Steady can be taking any flak for this - what can he do?? He can’t make people gate or take different lines when in mid race or stop breakdowns... everybody was singing his praises last year with his tactical awareness etc, really don’t see that his management skills have gone away, the team performance has just hit a cliff for some reason. it is curious how the entire team have forgotten how to gate, wonder if the track set up has changed somehow and it is just catching them out?
  7. Sorry, but Jan was a great reserve last year, but in the main body of the team this year he was pants. Replacing him with Broc was a risk, but the right thing to do as it turns out.
  8. Should even things up - looks like Sheffield sacked Bjerre last night, not withholding his services so I suppose we will with a NL guest too
  9. Hats off to the Bears, they out gated us and when they didn't, they out rode us. Yes, we had a few mechanical gremlins and lost a few points as a consequence, but not enough to have changed the outcome. We just never looked like being able to win from heat 1 onwards. Remind me, why did we get rid of Berge....????
  10. Wtf Thankfully I am away this week and so missed what appears to be an absolute nightmare of an evening what happened????
  11. That was embarrassing. How can we fail to win a single heat in the last 9 races? A few riders need to be apologising for their performances I think. Hats off to Lakeside, they were far and away the better team on the night. Fair to say that our season will be done and dusted by the end of August.
  12. Rained for about a minute so far, nothing to worry about yet!
  13. Agreed - I do like a trip to Scunny, but can't make it this week, so fingers crossed for rain
  14. Although.... there was a post on Facebook or Twitter earlier saying that it hadn’t been authorised by the BSPA yet and I notice that there still isn’t an announcement on their website
  15. Not the best meeting by Scunny standards, didn’t think the racing was that good, track looked a bit rough in places and half of every lap were just hazy riders seen through the dust. Worrall was woeful, think I would have taken him out of his 4th ride and given Shanes or Wood an extra ride. Nicol on the other hand was brilliant, first sight of the track as far as I know and came away with 2 wins over Auty and another night had 2 other rides that could have been wins. Brilliant signing!! Scunny deserve to go through over the 2 legs - if not for Garrity riding like Garrity and getting injured, we would probably have only just scraped a home win last night.
  16. It was only heat 15 that went past 10pm - Think it was probably more to do with the promotion wanting to complete the match for the paying supporters - given you had Berge and Auty in the last race and we were down to one fit heat leader, I doubt we ran it with the view of stretching our lead, the reverse was more likely
  17. For Scunny Berge was awesome and Garrity looked very quick before his crash (hope he’s ok), Auty started well but faded as the meeting went on, Allen just looked angry and seemed to be particularly peeved with Auty. For Sheffield, Broc looked good again in a couple of rides, Todd looked good and was impressed with him coming from the back to take points in a couple of rides when dumped to the back in hard first turns, Bjerre and Wright just looked a bit off the pace compared to usual but still had decent night - can’t believe Wright walked away from his crash or that nobody hit him, Shanes had another good night and Wood had a decent race and looks like getting back to where he was last year
  18. Proctor scored 12 for Workington at our place in May, not a bad return for an away rider.
  19. Proctor on Thursday, Richie Worrall on Friday
  20. If Glasgow hadn’t got 2 5-1’s when they had watched the track being graded and watered in the interval whilst Sheffield had a cup of tea, the score line would have been even less pretty. Worrall and Harris were woeful, Stark and Robson tried but for little reward. Vissing was steady. A decent debut for Nichol, if not for his chain he would have outscored anything Jan has done so far this year. Can only see him getting better.
  21. Personally wouldn’t want to see Lasse go. We aren’t going to win anything this year and so would prefer to stick with a team that wins and entertains at home - Lasse is the most entertaining rider we have and drops very few points at home...
  22. Feel for Jack - thought his last meeting was his best to date, but something had to be done to try and strengthen
  23. Well... I know the track being as rough as a badgers arse didn’t help matters, but not the best meeting. Berwick were fairly woeful with pretty much Gappmeir and Howe coming out with any credit - particularly Howe who after his crash was pretty much dragging his left leg when he tried to walk. Nice to see Todd getting a max and I thought it was possibly Smith’s best meeting to date (prior to him coming a cropper)
