  1. If Chris Van Straaten is to be believed, this thread needs moving to the Premiership section. Apparently he announced that Kent, Berwick and ourselves are on the move
  2. Meant to be Kyle, but if he isn’t fit, you would guess that they would go with Todd given he used to ride there... or Broc if we can get away with it!
  3. TEAMS: SHEFFIELD: Danny King, Josh MacDonald, Justin Sedgmen, Todd Kurtz, Kyle Howarth, Zaine Kennedy, Broc Nicol. NEWCASTLE: Steve Worrall, Thomas Jorgensen R/R, Lasse Bjerre, Matt Wethers, Ulrich Ostergaard, Max Clegg, Danny Phillips. A return to evening racing will make some happy and some sad... the return of Broc at the expense of Drew will make some happy and some sad... the current rain we are having will make some happy and some sad.... A day of mixed emotions!!
  4. Redcar pushed Glasgow to a last heat decider last night, definitely won’t be a pushover
  5. MPT has tweeted that he never agreed to ride today - he was asked, but hadn’t said yes, he then cracked his frame which meant that he couldn’t in any event.
  6. Schlein should get a ban for that little stunt The pat on the back from his mechanic and the big grin on his face in the pits is pretty disgusting and disrespectful to those who have paid to watch. Made worse by Kurtz popping out of the gate and getting the fastest time of the night so far... track can’t be that bad. Have always liked Rory, but have just lost a lot of respect for him
  7. And Broc has just taken a trip to hospital from Leicester...
  8. Not a good meeting from a Sheffield perspective - if Bowtell hadn’t taken a dislike to the back straight fence, Scunny would have been deserved winners. Still not really sure how we managed to win to be honest!!
  9. Looks like we might possibly both be a man down for this fixture. Howarth and Garrity both failed to make it past turn 1 at Redcar in the British semi and have headed to hospital, fingers crossed they’re both ok
  10. Any news on Drew? Birmingham surprised me for the first half of the meeting by keeping up with us, but the second half was a different story and having heat leaders made the difference for the Tigers. Made me chuckle when the announcer before heat 13 said something about the battle of the big guns and I overheard a Brummie supporter complaining because they didn’t have any!!
  11. Heat 15. Wowsers. Hats off to all 4 riders, talk about saving the best until last!
  12. Does anybody know how much the picture got auctioned off for in the end?
  13. I don’t think Bates’ fitness or attitude will be a concern for Sheffield. He’s riding for Leicester
  14. https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/speedway/sheffield-tigers/sheffield-speedway-ownership-need-help-from-old-timer-fans-1-9575822
  15. Did anybody go on Wednesday night? Any good?
  16. Already signed I believe. Damian said last night ‘the seven riders we have signed’ and in a separate conversation Peter Mike said that the team was sorted

  18. Happy with that. Howarth and Nicol to finish would give a nice balance of youth, experience and potential
  19. Bates signed for Leicester- happy with that, think he will be a risk to have in the team personally
  20. 4pm start time Bad enough being on a Sunday (I know and grudgingly accept the reasons), but why 4pm?? Seriously limits what you can do during the day and cocks up family time for me at home. Wife and kids attend very occasionally and that ain’t going to change just because it’s on a Sunday, and now I will miss our main meal. That’s aside from the fact that day time racing tends to be crap and that the atmosphere tends to be as flat as a fart. Disappointing.
