Stock cars were there last weekend - in contrast to how they normally leave it, it looks positively smooth. As has been said - racing at Owlerton used to be superb, but bikes these days can’t handle the dirt that you need to make the lines around the outside work unfortunately. Surely this is the last time we endure Batchelor. Please

I see Josh has been released by Leicester so that they can fit Hans Anderson into the team, citing concerns over his fitness. Wonder if those concerns will be held by Sheffield as well

It’s sad that a topic about a meeting which was entertaining and seemingly accepted to be a “good” meeting, has to descend into the usual our sport is crap debate… maybe that’s why it’s on its arse

Difficult to tell of crowds are bigger than pre-covid or not as we’ve lost viewing on the first bend and the bar is closed, so all those people have had to go somewhere else.

You can book a table in the track restaurant, food is normally decent in there

Cook, King and Allen all know their way around Owlerton, so could be a close one, but Batch, Holder and Ellis have already shown that they aren’t any slouches and will probably be more dialled in this time round so think it should be a relatively comfortable win

Solid returns from the Tiger top 3, good back up from Howarth and Wright. Sedgmen tailed off after his first couple of rides, but should come good based on his other meetings. Josh is hopefully ok after his off and will get back to how he can ride Owlerton

Not heard that - he was here last night and doubt he would travel back to Poland to travel back again on Thursday. Think it will be R/R for Ellis who wasn’t allowed to travel

With a meeting under our belts and on our home track, can’t see much beyond a decent sized home win for this one. Hopefully! Just hope that it’s a decent size crowd to get a bit of atmosphere going, all felt a bit flat at Belle Vue last night.

When does Tai get announced? Guess we’ll see when we get on track as to how we’ll fare - people having a year off will no doubt affect different riders in different ways. I know most of the top riders have still been riding, but it’s probably the lower order riders who will make the difference as that is where any improvement in averages will be.

Hmmm... past experience of how the track has been left unfortunately suggests that Jesus could be the track curator and it would still be a struggle to it anywhere near its best!!

So I read that as saying... “Sheffield speedway will be crap this year due to additional stock car and banger races resulting in the track being torn to shreds on a regular basis. There will also be an abundance of punctures.” Hope that they enforce them tidying up after themselves a bit better than they have in previous years

From what I remember of the Nagy incident, tempers were running high from a previous coming together earlier in the meeting. For some reason they were both put into a race that I’m sure they shouldn’t have been in (although it was a long time ago, so I could be wrong) - neither rider gave any quarter on the run to the first bend and the resultant accident was horrific
