  1. Although... if we could fit Berge in, it wouldn’t be a bad thing
  2. Not a bad meeting, but think we used our get out of jail card to win that one. If Klindt had ridden like he can or Compton hadn’t tailed off in his last 2 we would have been in trouble. Nice to see Ty back to his best. Thankful to Graversen for last year, but he needs replacing ASAP. Even 6 points from that position would have turned it into a 52-38 result.
  3. I fear for Sheffield, we struggled at Newcastle and only scraped a draw last night at home. 55-35
  4. Fair play to Peterborough, a deserved draw. Don’t think Scotty has ever ridden Owlerton that well before. Losing Howarth / Howarth not riding to his normal standard had a big impact and not helped by Graversen’s non-impact on the meeting. Not the best meeting, racing wasn’t great - track seemed very dry and slick by the end.
  5. If the top 4 and Shanes ride like they have been doing at home, Sheffield should be fine; if Graversen can hit the ground running it should be a comfortable win. Famous last words
  6. He should be ok at home, although think people will probably see what a difference riding in the main body makes. Away from home I’m not sure that it will net us many more points than r/r - hopefully I’m wrong
  7. You can only have a guest for your number 1 - unless they are riding in an official meeting elsewhere
  8. After heat 13 I heard Howarth telling Steady that going down the back straight Barker had told him that he was going to put him on a stretcher... Kyle took offence! No idea what was behind it as I didn’t see that Kyle had done anything wrong. Somebody afterwards said that the threat extended to Wright as well, but I don’t know if that’s accurate or not. Kyle had words after the race, punches were thrown, mechanics were involved... then it kicked off in the pits after Kyle’s dad had a word with Ben... more punches were thrown.
  9. Redcar’s saving grace may be their reserves - Greaves particularly could score heavily against our own pairing in last season’s showing
  10. OMG what a meeting! Proper speedway at its best. 2 teams going for it with passing and re-passing in nearly every race. It’s a long time since I’ve seen a meeting that good, hats off to all the riders.
  11. Seem to think Todd started like this last season, but then tailed off as others were riding more regularly and he had a lack of meetings. Hopefully he can keep the momentum going this year - if he does, we will definitely be there or thereabouts come the end of the season with this team
  12. Good meeting with some good racing tonight. Think the score line probably flatters us, aftet the first 10/11 heats I was thinking that a draw would be a good result, fortunately Scunny just ran out of a bit of steam - starting with Allen breaking down whilst comfortably in the lead. What is the rule about tacticals??? Sure after the Newcastle meeting somebody said they couldn’t be used in this competition- also didn’t think you could use them in heat 14
  13. I’m expecting both of these meetings to be a bit different to last year! Both meetings could be very close
  14. Looks like Bates is on the comeback trail http://joshbatesspeedway.co.uk/news.php?extend.26
  15. Haven’t double points gone now? And somebody said last night that you couldn’t use tac subs in this competition... don’t know how true that is, maybe they just couldn’t persuade anybody to have the extra ride
  16. A nice easy workout for the Tigers to kick off the season, I’m sure there will be sterner tests to come. Howarth, Bjerre and Wright were unstoppable, Kurtz only just missed out on his maximum too. Shanes and Smith showed glimpses of what is to come, both were within a whisker of getting a hat full of points against far more experienced opposition. The future is bright on tonight’s performance.
  17. The sun is bright, the sky is blue, I’m off to Owlerton tonight, what about you??? Can’t see anything other than a big home win, but hopefully there will be some decent racing along the way. Be good to see how Smith and Shanes get on, the former has stated that they are a stronger pairing than last year, not sure about that at the moment, but they probably have more potential for the future and will hopefully get better and better as the season goes on.
  18. Jack Smith top scored for Belle Vue with 14 today
  19. Good to see the bikes on track again Lasse particularly looked like he was having fun - can he get round turns 3/4 without his back wheel on the air fence?!?
  20. On Twitter Sheffield have said that because of a change with the dog racing schedule we can’t use it anymore
  21. Does anybody know the circumstances of the accident? Everybody seems to be presuming that he was messing about... there is of course the possibility that he was playing with his kid and it was just a freak accident. I concede it that would be a bit boring and would be a rubbish story, but just maybe people should get the facts before having a go. He may have been mucking about, but just maybe he wasn’t
