  1. Like I said reading it later on there was a definate switch of Tai is brilliant to Tai cost us the win. Plenty questioning his motives with the usual suspects hating. I read plenty of posts praising his efforts last night and today which is refreshing to see.
  2. Ah, the old I was there so no better than you do argument. what riders would, should, could have, achieved has no place then or today. Riders and their history stand by what they achieve or achieved. I’ve seen plenty of riders from several eras. Tai will rightly be judged when his career is over and what he has achieved. As it stands he is still in consideration to be the best British rider of any era. Achievements will help us make that judgement.
  3. No it doesn’t, but some only attack him no matter what he does. If you fit into that camp then the cap fits, so to speak. i doubt you have a good word to say about Tai anyway so if that makes you a Tai hater then you have outed yourself. how anyone’s can hate on him after that virtual single handed performance of keeping us at the top of the leader board. Still, each to their own. Haters gotta hate I guess. I’m not misreading any mood here. I caught up late on the meeting and thread and saw all the expected glowing reports of how magnificent Tai was. Then after the final race plenty jumped on board with the Tai is all self self, cost us the win blahdeblah. I think I captured the mood perfectly actually. It’s simpley not way off the mark at all. PC rode in an era when GB ruled the world. So his team and country achievements were slightly easier because of this. No taking away his achievements in this of course. Collins only won 1 world title, those are the facts. Tai has already won 2 and is looking good enough for a 3rd this year. Woffy has virtually single handedly achieve Silver for GB in the World Cup and now the Pairs by scoring massive points to make up for the below standard of his fellow GB riders. An incredible achievement. it is absolutely fair to suggest he is close to being our best ever British rider.
  4. Thankfully it’s a pleasure to see some posters still giving Tai the credit he deserves but not surprised at the usual Woffy haters trying to discredit him for what was one of the best GB TEAM performances in a long time. nobody has any idea what the thought process was for the final or what orders were given so it’s just guess work. And as usual Tai is the guilty partner as per usual. How anyone can call Tai selfish after his amazing performances throughout the tournament I find completely baffling, tho not in the slightest bit surprised. Tai as usual showed what a professional and dedicated approach to his country yet some still happy to bash. Not surprised of course. thank god for Woffy, on course to be the greatest British rider ever.
  5. Well said Jacques. Makes you proud to be a Brit with a performance like that. Rosco admitted it on Tuesday he has nothing to do anymore! Without Tai and the new regime nothing would have changed. There will always be a Team GB, just a useless one without a Tai in. Well said Steve. Absolutely Steve, the future is very bright. Particularly with the likes of Kemp making big strides in his first season and also the Thompson Twins next season. Huge potential and cutting out the dead wood next season onwards. No offence to Cook. There was no better team rider over the 2 days and you want to criticise one race? Barmy. Me neither. Any chance for the Woffy bashers to have a go. All praise one minute then the full blame the next. Total nonsense. Rider of the tournament. No question.
  6. Nothing wrong if you have something to hide I guess.
  7. A league below, usually. Good to see your Micheal Jepsen Jensen fan alias making an appearance.
  8. Rosco the hero. I’ll have whatever your having.
  9. No teams can change once declared. As evidenced by clueless Rosco who tried to replace Cook with Bewley last week.
  10. No one saw that coming. What an amazing result from day 1. where are all the Tai haters and Lambert bashers?? Been reading thru and they are all strangely quiet. Thank god for those two, should have been both of them from the start with Bewley getting reserve experience at this level. Woffy is something else stepping up for his country and passion for us too. No one took team riding to his level tonight. Thank god we have a professional set up running the National squad with our top boy representing us now. Just need to get a team manager who can fit in with this new ethos. Rosco said it all on Tuesday when he said ‘I’ve had nothing to do’. He had one job to do and that was to let Robert ride with Tai in every race. He nearly got that right. can we dream of a possible gold?
  11. Facts still remain Sid that Howarth has had a better average than Auty for the past 2 seasons at both Divisions levels. you also said Howarth would struggle to reach 6.50 away average if he wasn’t at Wolves. Yet his 2017 away average was over 6.7. sometimes facts override opinions. Still hope Josh gets a top flight place tho.
  12. I believe he has retired this year due to a health scare. That’s why Glyn is at Wolves as well.
  13. Under no logic is Auty better than Howarth. 2017. Premiership. Howarth 6.64 Auty 4.68 . Championship. Howarth 8.62 Auty 6.90. Howarth miles better in both leagues. 2016. Premiership (elite) Howarth 5.13 Auty 4.90. Championship. Howarth 7.18 Auty 7.01 Not a great deal in it but still Howarth higher than Auty. in 2 seasons Howarth has been the more improved and better rider. Anyone can make a case of a rider being better than an other by using one meeting or one track. the days of Auty being classed as a true number one have been long gone. Granted he seems in good form this year and if he maintains it then perhaps there is more to come. Has been on a downward spiral for a couple of seasons so good for him If he has managed to turn things around.and if he does well in the British final good luck to him. It’s what he does over the whole season that will count. And how was his championship average so much higher in 2017? I’m guessing because he was much better at away tracks as well. if you break down his 2017 stats for Wolves his home average was 6.74 and away 6.72. Blows your 6.50 theory out the window a little eh Sid???
  14. Auty has failed at top flight level over and over again. that said I prefer him to be a reserve than a foreigner.
  15. As previously discussed even professionals are allowed to make mistakes. They should have redeclared then. No point in saying wrong doing now. once declared you can’t change, as evidenced by the GB/Cook situation last week.
  16. Clear if you read the rules, which Nigel and kelvin were clear about. Glad that's sorted.
  17. It's common knowledge they are instructed to be vocal. They said it at a talk in quite a while ago. Have a listen to the Polish commentary and tell me they do anything different. It's sport, it's meant to be enthusiastic commentating. We aren't filming bowls here. Dave often covers Sweden live from a studio. He often repeats several details over again. There is only so much information you can stretch without having to repeat information.
  18. As previously stated If you can suggest a better option please let BT know. It’s a new system that even the knowledgable are struggling to explain or understand. if you can quote me a post that understood the rules better than Saturday then feel free. Yes, they are supposed to know and they messed up the important latter stages. In your perfect world nobody would make mistakes I guess.
  19. The problem is new people have been tried several times ........ and they fail miserably because of lack of knowledge of the sport. It’s a total embarrassment. only this season Eurosport started their Polish coverage with a ‘new’ commentator who lasted a couple of weeks because his commentary was beyond shocking and clueless. Thankfully Dave Goddard is now doing it who is a speedway fan. speedway fans commentating is the only credible way. Im not ashamed to admit I’m a fan of Nigel and Kelvin and find their excitement and exuberance exciting and sums up our sport perfectly. Also what I’ve found in speedway is that fans like to moan about everything and anything. If there is a better commentator(s) out there put their names forward to BT as that’s the only way of making changes happen. our sport is too niche for any recognised commentator to do a credible job, facts that have been proven by those who have tried and failed. long like our current commentary team, and that includes Dave Goddard on other channels.
  20. Not all GB fans present will be Aces fans. Anyone would be pathetic for not supporting ANY rider representing team GB on Tuesday. Plus we have our best and realistically only chance of achieving something with Woffy riding.
  21. Bewley isn’t in the team anymore. He should never have been given the place according to the rules. Yet another Rosco mess up.
