  1. It wasn't established at all. Why would some promoters and riders mention it if it wasn't true? Either way there is no conclusive evidence that it was or wasn't. Zagar mentioned it in a tweet and I was present at the talk in that Pete Adams discussed it. Another of those rules that they might use of its 'in the best interest of British speedway' rules.
  2. Yes I do thanks, why are you asking. Maybe if you read the post properly before replying you will see it was an attack on the rules. You would know that if you read it. Please don't tell me where to post please Mike, it's a free forum to post wherever you want. Let's not start playing that game. Thanks.
  3. It needed clarifying from the off, ditto all the rules they make. The ruling only one over 8 is pretty clear if you take it by the intent. So when the averages become new for 2018 it could be assumed that you can't bring in any rider over 8 if you started the season with an 8 pointer. Could Poole's poor start to the season allow them to sign a rider over 8 ??? If you want to fudge the rules yes. Typical of the BSPA to allow a rule to be interpreted in another way. And typical of ANY team trying to fudge that rule too. Would Tai/Piotr/Zagar be allowed back on their 7+ averages or be forced to use the reassessed 9 they were given at the start of the season. One thing that can be sure is IF Piotr signs for Poole in place of someone else is that Poole will get tons of stick for under performing to make the move happen. Plus it would have the stinkiest odour to it as well. Poole haven't got new averages yet so how can you say you don't have a rider over 8? You do until the new averages come into effect.
  4. That's assuming the rules are the same as the start of the season of course! One rider over 8 rule. If hypothetically Schlein becomes our number one and Jacob drops below 8 it still wouldn't be permitted. Assuming again that the BSPA stick to the rules.
  5. But not possible so not even a valid point to discuss.
  6. The ruling appears transparent. It can be the only explanation. No one is eager to get anyone a seven day ban. The rule stats it. Unless you think we should allow rule breaking?? Just to be clear, I don't agree with it.
  7. No surprise at the result, with Iversen well below his usual form. A good win for the table toppers tho.
  8. Couldn't agree more. Iversen is always a big scorer at Monmore, likewise Lambert is great value also. Could be our toughest test yet. 47-43
  9. Look at all them old folks Steve looks very serious in this. I take it Poole had just given away another 4-2 Fwiw Steve is friendly to talk too, don't be shy folks.
  10. Out of 3 matches so far twice he has a scored well and once only scored 5. That's a usual KK pattern. He is as often poor as he is good. Standard KK.
  11. Think most were thinking the same when Poole went to Belle Vue who were terribly weakened. But still, we got a point. So they all count come September.
  12. The Pole has ridden Monmore before. Piotr Pawlicki mastered the track within weeks and I remember Miskowiak making his debut at wolves scoring something like 18. It's all about adaptation. So Magic in for Kurtz then given the 1 8 and over rule. Of maybe they are under instructions to reduce averages to bring another ringer in?
  13. Agreed although Ward could ride any track. Don't ever recall him having a track he struggled on.
  14. Most thinking riders know how to ride it. It's all about throttle control.
  15. Can't see Rye getting anything out of this despite the Aces remaining weakened. 55-35
  16. I see some Poole fans are calling for Shanes to be ditched, what do you expect from a 2 pointer?? No wonder you don't get queues of talented Brits wanting to join Poole. Shanes did his job last year and will do the same again this year. A talented motorcyclist that needs persevering with. It's the job of the other 6 not your number 7 to score the points for you.
  17. The racing at Monmore is often very good so win or lose its good to watch. Riders generally like riding at Wolves although there are some that apparently struggle with the tight turns. We have lost at home plenty during the lean years of the past 15 years or so! I would still say that it's a good home advantage track that there is no denying. However I have seen some Wolves teams over the years that haven't adapted that home advantage and lost several at home. Thankfully not in the past few seasons tho.
  18. I don't get this 'such a massive home advantage' bit that is often trotted out. Did we have such a great advantage in the lean years when we were losing for fun (not for the supporters) and adrift towards the bottom? The riders we currently have and have had the past couple of seasons have built up some good home advantage. However I do find it odd that some of those riders who might struggle now rode it very well in the those lean years.
  19. Working the averages out has been no different in years gone by, even the old 'happiness is 40-38' days! Reserves only had 3 programmed rides compared to the top 5 who only had 4. Formula is easy and doesn't change no matter how many rides they have. Points ÷ rides X 4
  20. It's all opinions anyway. Hougaard has an average on the wane whilst Stevie is still rising. This time last year I'd have put Hougaard ahead.
  21. So when you said all riders you meant those good enough to be able to ride abroad. Certainly riders at championship level are making a living out of it so yes.
