Wolverhampton v Rye House 16/4/18
stevebrum replied to hammer1969's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Watched heat 15 on fans page and was certainly exciting. Hopefully the awful weather that has wrecked tracks for a month now will see gradual improvement of racing on all tracks. When you get people moaning about racing at the NSS you know tracks aren't in great shape right now. We are lucky at Wolves at its usually rated highly by riders and visiting fans alike so hopefully Doc can work his magic over the coming weeks. Rye appeared to be very poor visitors which can have a bearing on the excitement level. -
Freddie is well over a point higher than Vaculik so extremely unlikely without further changes.

Routine home win. Maybe the Robins can bring their 2017 form to Wimborne Road perhaps?. -

Used to be brilliant at Monmore but have been average for the past 2 or 3 seasons. KK is just a waste of a team space. -
Exactly. Well said. Double standards or what!

Since when has an away loss become unbeaten? -

Certainly usual of the last 2 or 3 seasons absolutely. -

I did, because it's our first match and Rye have riders that can do well and have had matches already. The reality is evident that Rye remain poor travellers. At least I didn't say Rye would win away tho. -

As expected, Rye will get very little away from home again. Great result from the boys tonight. As I thought, Ashley has improved a lot since his last stint in Wolves colours. Robbo appeared to have a mare after heat 2. -

Great result for the injury hit Aces. Surprised at that result. No surprise that the Pirates grabbed a point tho. Not many teams will send the Pirates home pointless. -
What a complete joke.

Gonna be a tough one with it being our first match of the season. Rye had a lot of so called specialists last season but we're frankly disappointing. Same again this season. Scott and Chris have been decidedly average at Monmore for 2 or 3 seasons now but I'd still rate them a danger as could have a decent match. Robson is superb value at the Green and can see him having 5 or 6 rides and top scoring. I can't even think of the last time he had a poor meeting at Monmore. As for KK he will probably have a race win coupled with 2 rides where he don't bother. Rye will probably take a point. 47-43 -
Still missing that report from the final when Coventry stuffed your lot out of sight.

Thought you said you can't judge form over a few meetings. Make your mind up. -

Steve won't reply to that because he knows he will be caught out. -

Stevie has aimed big in the close season and so far has looked to have stepped up a level. What he may or may not achieve is very open to question. I wish him well in his recovery, certainly the National side will miss him as let's face it besides Woffy, Cook and Worrall there isn't anyone else considering for the SON particularly at the NSS. Lambert as the U21 a given. -

But at the NSS virtually impossible to replace on current form by RR or guest. -
Like you say no one can judge any track at the moment so when conditions improve everyone will see how the remedial work handles and if it improves the awful bumps. I hope it does as I used to rate the Poole track highly.
-
Been many times thanks, but it's been poor for several seasons now. Let's see if its actually worked this time.

How many years has this issue supposedly been sorted? Seeing is believing.

Would have been a 9 if starting the season like Piotr and Woffy tho. -

And too small to say his 7 point home average from last season is a truer reflection. 2nd in the Open meeting (a star studded one at that) and top scoring on 13 plus 13+1 and one dropped point in the home match gives a much truer picture of his scoring capabilities at home so far this season. Seems evident to anyone watching him that he looked to have taken a bit step up this year. Completely unreplaceable and RR is way to weakening. -

It's laughable when you make a claim that you have previously dismissed, sometimes people really do forget what they say and completely expose themselves. Although it's not like it's unexpected. Hopefully some good will come out of this that will save another situation like this. And a few lap practice for anyone that wants to when the conditions are anything but perfect the expected outcome. How can all the riders get the conditions so wrong on the track walk? ?? They were happy to start which says all we need to know.
