Bless. Just ignore the fact that Lindgren owned the top flight for several years whilst Iversen was an also ran. I like NKI and would be more than happy if he rode for Wolves. Thankfully we have had one of the best number ones of the past 10 years in our top flight. Shame, your posts seemed more bearable in recent times but it appears you have returned to type by attacking the poster again. Sometimes things never change eh.

The comment was ridiculous Steve. Lots of love on this page for Starman, stop trying to spoil it.
-
Absolutely. Club loyalties will always see many of us clash on issues but yet again the speedway family show support for those that need it. Hopefully get to Poole this season so will come say hello. It's about time! Take your time and stay healthy. Really Steve, stop stirring.

Should never have been given a 2. Pure nonsense. Interesting that the SCB have 'deleted' the 2016 averages for use this year. I can imagine a few clubs or one in particular that will be sweating on this piece of news. It would be the fairest thing if NO 2016 averages were allowed for use this year. At least every team will be playing from the same rulebook. Be very sad if only one club is affected.

Ditto that comment Gavan 110%. Been there too. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. But good to see a regular contributor posting again so welcome back and good health to you Starman.

It's last season's advert. Check the dates. They are all wrong. Nothing has been released yet.

Is the league stronger in 2018?
stevebrum replied to poolebolton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Apologies, I forgot to include Iversen so yes indeed 2 in and 2 out. The nonsense of the 50 point limit and fake averages have messed up the comparisons too. It's clear last season's starting limit of 50 is higher than the start of this however, despite in reality the ridiculous reassessed averages for some have clouded the issue somewhat. It isn't as cut as dry as some like to bore on about. -

Given that averages were weighted for the top flights boys it's going to be overwhelmingly higher in 2017. -

Bjerre and Lindgren out, Vaculik in. Yet some will argue it's stronger!!! -

Without question it's weakened AGAIN. -
Any rider that dishes it back to dirty Nicki gets my vote too.

Delighted to hear Iversen is back as expected. Great news for the Stars fans and even better for the top flight.

Doesn't explain last season, which disproves your point. Likewise when you deduct the riders who have retired and not riding here from last season it's as you were. Let's look at 2018. 48 riders currently named in the top flight with 8 spaces remaining 5 of which are likely to be stand alone riders so that takes it up to 53. In the championship 49 riders currently named that aren't doubling up with 11 spots to fill. Let's assume none will be also doubling up. That will take the total to 60. That's 113 riders to fill 133 team places. There aren't enough riders. Or do you simply not get it? ?
-
Even if that was the case there were 133 team spots so still not enough. If there were 126 different riders last year filling 133 team spots you have made it abundantly clear there are NOT enough riders. It's no good apologising to Somerset fans for labouring this point on 2 occasions. What you are claiming has been proven wrong. By your own argument! There aren't enough riders to fill both leagues. Time to move along then.
-
Whoever owns him, otherwise Championship.
-
There aren't 145 riders of the standard required. Your own figures have proved there aren't enough anyway.
-
Correct. 126 different riders rode in both leagues last year which required 133 to fill spaces. By any maths that proves there aren't enough riders to fill all team spaces. No different this season.
-
We've established there isn't. 133 different riders needed for 19 teams. You can't include riders who 'might' want to come as only a handful of new riders join our leagues year on year. We've established there aren't enough quality riders to fill both leagues. For the riders you have added as new subtract the riders who have retired as well.
-
Loving the comedy.
-
Your wrong and your maths are all wrong too. It's 19 teams in the top 2 leagues. Can't count riders who double up as 2 spaces. You would be missing riders by your own idea. It's proven there aren't enough riders to fill both leagues, certainly not of the standard required to fill both leagues or one big league.
-
Which everyone knows was only because of injury.
-
Not enough to fill 2 leagues unless you fill them with sub standard NL riders and certainly no way unless it's double or triple up/down. It's a myth there are enough riders to go around. There isn't.
-
TBH I didn't think the governing body could muck up the averages any worse than the multiplyer farce of last year. However it seems they really can. Assessed and reassessed averages for some and not others with no real logic to the decisions is making it shape up to be the most corrupt season in a long time. We should be doing everything we can to endure British riders have the team spots they need. Making an average stick after a handful of meetings is plain ridiculous. And if they are helping one (Clegg) to a nice low average after meetings you can count on 1 hand and penalising another using the logic is plain bonkers. I see no reason why they can't both be using their start of 2017 averages as neither did enough meetings to qualify for a new 2018 top flight average. It seems the required amount of meetings to qualify can change rider on rider. Corrupt to the core.
-
Clegg only did 4 matches, Ritchie did 7. If one is fair then both are. Can't see a logical reason for one and not the other.
-
I didn't say it was a definite. Looks like they have set the precedent with Clegg however. But then this is the BSPA so it can be any average. Not confirmed anywhere. But shouldn't be.
