  1. Thank god we have 3 leagues, as it should be. The indications are that more top boys would have ridden here this season without the cost cutting 1 8 or over. It's more vital now than ever to try and get a stronger top flight for next season or possibly allow riders in once the season starts. The genuine excitement over 2 day racing that the top boys have been asking for quickly faded when it was done purely as a cost cutting exercise with the thought of no TV money coming in. Hopefully a way can be found for next season to get some more of the top boys over that will be essential to have a top flight league. The sport will be in a much worse place if they amalgamate the leagues, clubs will be down to the bare bones of fans as yet more drift away from the weakest option possible. Just my opinion of course.
  2. So either speedway star are wrong (Hans to Leicester) or the Echo are. My money is on a proper speedway magazine being right.
  3. I take it speedway star jumped the gun? It's certainly already in the public domain.
  4. Such is the farce that it might actually happen. It seems also depends who asks as well.
  5. To both posters, who owns Hans?? Surely unless Poole own him they would have no say??
  6. Interesting comment in Speedway Star today saying that Woffy was seriously considering racing in the UK in 2018 with 2 night racing being introduced. Until he was told his average was about to 'rocket'. Wonder if the original line up might have been Fred, Piotr and Tai? ? That would have been awesome! ! Even Jacob plus the duo would have been superb. According to SS it looks like Vacilik will be an 8 as a newcomer, yet others who missed racing here in 2016 could be different, you just can't try and make a bigger mess up if you tried!
  7. Sadly seems the case, sometimes it really doesn't pay to improve too much. Perks was very poor for Wolves, as his 1.45 average demonstrates.
  8. He had a real breakthru at championship level that's for sure, however he was absolutely dire during his spell with Wolves.
  9. Piotr certainly was interested in coming back this season. CVS confirmed that at the talk in. Discussions took place and asked for his name to be circulated if Wolves couldn't use hkm. CVS said they were interested until it was confirmed he would be reassessed at 9 (now possibly 8). It would be an absolute farce to let any of those riders return this season on their old averages sometime in the season, particularly when they wanted to come in the first place. But then this is the BSPA so anything is possible.
  10. In fairness to Jack he made great progress in 2017. Went from reserve in 2016 to heat leader in 2017 in the NL and has gained valuable experience at the 2 higher levels as well. Think he should concentrate targeting number one at the Colts and moving up into the main body in the Championship. Can see him back in the top tier in a couple of years. Nice little talent developing nicely.
  11. It's not going to get any bigger until we make the sport credible. Unless it's run independently that's not likely to happen.
  12. There is a reason speedway teams don't have shop presence or coffee shops. It's too small fry sport to make it work.
  13. They will give him whatever average they want as there are some very strange averages going about for the new season. Clegg only rode 4 matches for a 2 point average, which our glorious governing body have kept for him. Think it depends who you are, who you ride for and who asks. Seems to be even less logic than the farce of 2017.
  14. Of course. The fact is he has improved his away performances year on year. He will need to do the same in 2018. With even less true number ones in the league it shouldn't be that difficult.
  15. Speedway Star have Jacob listed as 6th in away averages, with only Doyle, Morris, Freddie, Cook and Musielak above him. He is getting more consistent away from home season on season. He has to step up as number one now so that will make his upward trend a harder job but indications suggest even less likely to have dodgy meetings. I certainly hope that is the case.
  16. Where has this been confirmed please? I haven't seen it published yet.
  17. And seemingly failed. Point well made. It's been dreadful everytime it's been on TV the past few seasons. Shame, I used to look forward to my visits to watch racing there.
  18. Splitting hairs. Both used the British league to suit themselves. Both equally as guilty of using our league for their own means.
  19. It's only fair in Poole. You can be sure the same poster would be complaining if he had signed for any other team.
  20. Half a season completely dire, half a season more improved. I see it too but a full season? ?? Good luck. At least Holder has been fully committed to the top flight until this season. Personally wouldn't really want either on those averages but if it had to be Holder I could live with it.
  21. They have an average, just like Woryna. Assess one, assess all. I suppose that doesn't suit the blue tint brigade.
