  1. They are running. Not EL according to the statement. That's definetly a shock.
  2. We have no idea what his or any of the EDR riders will end up on in 2017.
  3. Nobody knows what the averages for the EDR's next season will. To much speculation on what they should be, will be, PL conversion or not. One can only imagine that the reason to allow EDR riders to move up into the main body is to test their ability to mix it in the main body which several have proven to be able to do. One must believe there was a contingency plan to follow for next season ??? Back in the real world however the EDR averages (assuming they are retained) will be whatever the BSPA and promoters want them to be. Hopefully some clarity on it will be more evident after next week's AGM.
  4. A very patronising point of view. So all those who voted to stay voted because they knew precisely what they were voting on? There was equally as many blind voters to stay as there were that wanted out. Both sets had their reasons I'm sure but one is no better than the other. The stays don't have the majority view, that's why we have public votes on such important issues. Not everyone who voted knew the economical reasons and ramifications for both sides. To discredit one side and not the other is very blinkered in the extreme.
  5. I for one am a proud EL snob, but not a blinkered one. We DO need some of the top boys over here otherwise we become a glorified 2nd division nation. There isn't one credible nation (Australia exempt and USA ignored as they have no credibility after the world cup fiasco) that doesn't have a credible top level of racing. And we need that. Just how do those aspiring to move up the ladder when they have no real competition to push them? Poland and Sweden hardly touch British riders now so will have zero chance with no top flight to compete in. I watch all levels of racing and have had the pleasure of watching the youngest team in the country win the national league this week. Great to watch development happening however as I don't pay to watch that standard of racing (as staff) it isn't something I choose to watch on any regular basis. why? Because the standard of racing isn't as good pure and simple. Don't think I'm dissing the NL, as I'm far from it. It's just about preference. A PL standard EL will see further fans lost to the sport on any regular basis. Yet this is the way to go??? Beyond crazy. Always has been, always will be unless they alter that. Leicester would have likely won the PL with that side. Which says more about you than those with reasons to leave.
  6. Not compared to Lindgren no. Yes I saw his 7 points in the play offs when he guested. Did you?
  7. Disagree. Harris isn't a number one at Monmore whilst Freddie is there. Lindgren, Thorsell and Masters over Harris thanks.
  8. only for the first 2 months of the season. I haven't fully looked at SCB's averages but Harris as a heat leader would be number one choice for the majority of clubs.
  9. Why Lindgren to a lesser extent? He has ridden here every season bar one.
  10. Every club would want to sign him I'd imagine.
  11. Hope that rumour proves unfounded then.
  12. Superb comeback from Birmingham and also a total capitulation from the eagles (bar Ellis). Congratulations to the whole of the brummies team and promotion.
  13. I didn't say who was better just who I would prefer. For what it's worth Masters is 7.18 and Harris is 6.58. So who is better?
  14. Can only agree. Prefer Masters to Harris.
  15. Certainly wasn't the out and out top reserve we all expected but came good when it mattered!
  16. However there is nothing new about reserves being the key riders. I'd struggle to name a season in recent history where a reserve (including the old 4 point foreign ringers which has thankfully been halted) hasn't held the key to success at the end of the season. The only difference is the way the EDR has been adapted meaning some teams have had an advantage due to having invested in youth. I had no issue with that as it rewards EL teams for investing in the future which is something I applaud and the likes of Kings Lynn and Poole have richly been rewarded for that over the 3 seasons, rightly so. Now we are in a very different position. Quite a few have been on it for 3 seasons and have progressed into the main team so surely those riders have no outlived the need to be on it?? What would be the point of riders who have a proven ability to mix it with true EL standard riders to be given another year as a reserve? ? Wasn't the point of changing the rules this season to allow these riders 'test their abilities' at a higher level to see who can mix it for the future?? Of course it was! Will the likes of Worrall, Newman, Ellis be scoring big points in the main body of the team instead of in reserve?? Of course not. That is part of making slow progress. The thing that complicates the whole thing is the now flawed EL average system. Protected heats for reserves have given them an inflated average, heat leaders have much lower averages for their abilities because of the tougher race programme and rolling averages have altered a true average out of all recognition. Likewise some riders have had an easier ride as a second string. There has to be a big shake up of the system including seriously looking at the way averages are calculated. The way they sort the reserves/draft system is going to be key again and hopefully fairness will prevail. However I doubt it.
  17. we have no idea what averages they will use for conversion next year. and a pipe dream. we have no idea what averages will be used for conversion. Only the word of drop the cog et al.
  18. Isn't he a Kiwi? Had to come up to the PL this year as a 5 because of that so can't see him qualifying as an EDR.
  19. His PL average gives a rounded picture of his season. So maybe injuries have halted him this year which like I said he has at least maintained his form this year. But you would like to use his 2 injuries as some excuse as to why he has improved?? You couldn't make it up. He always raises his game in the play offs, a huge reason why Poole have been successful over the recent years. Something I wholeheartedly applaud. Facts are that Ellis has a higher EDR EL average. As previously stated, I like Kyle. A good honest rider that any team would want in their side. However to say he has improved this year is a stretch too far.
  20. Wrong. His 2015 PL average was 6.84 and has ended 2016 6.31. He was ranked 2nd in EDR at the end of 2015 and is now 3rd behind Steve Worrall and Adam Ellis in the averages for 2016. Certainly not improving year on year as you indicate. In fairness to Kyle I'd say he has mostly maintained this season despite all his averages dropping but by no definition would that be considered an improvement. Your thoughts Steve on those stats?
  21. Don't think you will catch many more. Nor is the GP a fair reflection of a riders World title ability using your same (strange) logic.
  22. So long as the rules of the EDR's are clear, transparent and fair for all then no one can have an issue. PL averages are now irrelevant anyway as most riders have a season or 2 of having an actual EL average.maybe they could take their performances as an EDR and divide it by their PL average to give a realistic figure?
  23. And some of the Poole fans have triple the egos too.
