  1. Patrik Karger has signed for Rye House so I doubt assessed riders can double up. Having in saying that the new number 8 foreign rider rule will no doubt have its own rules that the BSPA won't publish as per usual.
  2. Yes I agree crowds have dwindled as a pattern with every weakening. However you have to include those who have grown tired of the way the sport is run over the same period as a valid point also and what is clear in the say past 5-6 years crowds have gone from what looks like a fair crowd (in consideration of other leagues) to almost barely breaking even. Crowds have dwindled but it's been about 6-10 years since the majority of top riders and upcoming young talent used to be here so the decline has been rapid and noticeable in comparison to the slower dwindling years. I guess this is what the BSPA have also noticed (who can really tell what they notice given the short term measures they have tried before) and it's not rocket science that the top riders bring more people thru the terraces. Just goes to show how desperate attendances have become for them to finally try and reverse the halt. As is always it's likely to be too little too late.
  3. As is usual with the BSPA they can't be bothered to put out any relevant info. The info came from CVS at the talk in in November, that 2 day EL racing will happen in 2017 along with job shares. Plus evidenced by the various club press reports and Kings Lynn confirming they have moved in readiness for next season and supposedly to accommodate a number one for this! I did put a report on the wolves thread at the time from the talk in about all the news about the club and BSPA plans.
  4. It's been confirmed. One of the nights appears to be Thursday, the other appears speculation.
  5. I hope it work for the sake of the EL too! Fingers crossed but I have a sinking feeling it's too late and yes I can see the sensible way forward would be to have one big PL without the top boys. That said I still think we will be extremely short of riders so would be very hard to work as well. No doubt that point not seen by the blinkered few. Put in 8 more teams with a large number of riders doubling up/down and take out say 12-16 of the top boys it's not difficult to see that's going to be a tough one to get right too. There is no easy answer for the future of Speedway in the UK however we look at it.
  6. firstly let's see how successful the plans for next season go first because despite the bleating by some (not you) the BSPA seem to be in agreement with me that we NEED the top boys here to save the top flight which we, and some clubs need to survive with any credibility. It's something they (BSPA) should have done 5 or 6 seasons ago when it became clear that we no longer held that much of an attraction for riders abroad. Whilst it's about time we brought in squads and job sharing for the EL my own fears is that it's a little to late. Let me add good speedway is good speedway in any league. I've never disputed that. I watched regular NL at Birmingham because I work there. However like the PL I would only pay to watch it a few times a year because I have a preference to watching the best riders on a weekly basis. That's just my preference which is likely to be shared by fellow EL supporters . Yet such an opinion isn't a valid one according to the ridiculous posturing of rmc, which of course is a ridiculous one (a bit like his post). That's fine. I doubt many share his personal opinions (no doubt he will quote scores of people that apparently (and falsely) agree with him - well in his mind maybe).
  7. Where did I say everyone wants what I want?? Making things up again. I know, an opinion is a terrible thing to have. What a sad post which says more about you than it does me. And thanks for sharing that for everyone to see. Don't forget to mention updates loses one of its regular updaters but your post proves you are a close minded poster. If you seriously think speedway (and that's in ANY European league) can have any credible league without the top boys then you clearly can't see the big picture which of course doesn't surprise me. And we'll done on attacking me in a post, you must be very happy with yourself.
  8. If we ever fall that low then it's game over for us a professional sport. With a loss of probably 20-25% of its audience. That will be a sad day for speedway, and the day I give up on taking the sport I love seriously anymore and the loss of a regular fan.
  9. Well done BSPA, supposedly voting through another change yet no mention on their website - other than from another clubs promotion. Your secrecy is becoming beyond tiring now.
  10. At least it's clear when you say 'many people' take issue with my posts you actually mean you. I can live with that surprisingly. At least given the chance to prove your point you have failed to do so so yes there is indeed nothing else to say on the matter so time to move on. At least I have had the chance to defend myself against someone who makes stuff up. Much love to the usually decent Kings Lynn folk, hope I can make a trip over this season. Always enjoy my trips to the home of the stars. He had a poor season that's true. So if not Kenny just who will the stars pull out the bag for the last place, intriguing!
  11. To many rain offs and guest swimmers that very few bother to watch it anymore.
  12. YET another. Must be 20 or more and counting.
  13. To be fair Ipswich have said they would back EL if it's suits them, Glasgow have shown an interest for 2017 and with Sheffield who now have forward thinking promotion at the helm there is 3 very possibilities.
  14. I can only imagine that some are trying to get the 2nd night to suit their own club! Looks like Thursday seems as good as certain tho.
  15. Agreed. Makes sense to have consecutive nights. However why would Kings Lynn move from Wednesday to Thursday if Wednesday is one of the suggested days?? Makes no sense. SKY have covered quite a few Wednesdays even some Tuesdays however Monday is still seen as Speedway night on SKY. It would be nice to hear from the BSPA and promoters engaging the fans to see what days they prefer but I doubt we are a consideration!
  16. We certainly need to work on improving our own but that's a separate argument for next year. It will be interesting to see how the job share role works as competitive equipment is absolutely vital. I'd be happy to see the likes of MJJ, THJ back in the UK because the amount of meetings they ride in will be more on our terms than theirs. And maybe we might just see the real abilities given they only have a set amount of meetings to race in instead of them picking and choosing to suit them instead of their UK clubs.
  17. It's certainly not an easy solution! Sensibility would be consecutive nights like Thursday and Friday. I just don't see Friday being an option but of course i could be wrong! Having 2 nights like Monday and Thursday could still work with a squad system as the number ones (and squad) can share roles so one could do the Monday and the other the Thursday. It's going to be a lot of changes next year but we have to hope that the riders will come all the same!
  18. of course I'm guessing, none of us know as no statements have been put out officially. You don't quite get this forum lark do you, a lot of what is discussed is speculation. Jeez. name me the 'many people' who are fed up of my posts. I'll await the names thanks. Do we know why Steve? He is a season on season performer in the EL so it's unusual he isn't starting in the UK in a new season.
  19. Looks like it's happening anyway. Hinted that it will be 2 nights by CVS and given that Lynn have moved to a Thursday I guess that is one of them. Makes sense to keep Monday as the other, given the SKY deal.
  20. Plenty have been vocal about it, especially those that race here regular. So I see Kenny would be no different if he was planning to not ride here I'd imagine he would have said so. Good for him that he has been signed up in Europe elsewhere. I doubt he would have been first name on any team sheet given how his form has dropped alarmingly. UK is in Europe last time I looked, and he I usually signed up in ALL leagues by now. Just pointing out glaringly obvious stuff here. I didn't say that you had said anything about him being you're number one. I just pointed out it was odd he isn't signed up for the Stars or anyone in the UK when he usually is.
  21. He has because his average has improved in both leagues but he is very much a slow climber. Jacob despite ending both the last 2 seasons as a heat leader is really a second string but likewise he needs to improve away and gain more consistency.
  22. Wells is still improving EL and PL. Jacob has maintained the past 2 seasons and finished as Wolves number one last year!
  23. I always thought Rohan was going to be a great rider but seems to have stalled a little and any improvement has been relatively small. Wouldn't be surprised if he does have a big break thru somewhere down the line but like you say maybe it's more in his head than anything. Time will tell if he lives up to the hype some give him. However still think Swindon have stronger options.
  24. So just to be clear you state his average went backwards in 2015 but he is getting better each season. Now that's what I call guff. Having done some 'research' he finished 2013 and 2014 on identical averages and actually improved in 2015 (was surprised at that). However didn't finish any of those seasons as a number one.
  25. Of course he doesn't have too. Despite the likes of Iversen, Janowski and plenty more saying so. You clearly believe he is your missing number one so get him signed up. However in the real world he doesn't appear that attractive to UK teams.
