  1. Surely it will Sandhu who at the time said he would do whatever it took to ensure Coventry had a new track. Assuming of course he is a man of his word.
  2. Let's face it he can't do any worse than 2015 whoever he rides for!
  3. Pete Adams confirmed he spoke to all the GP/top boys on the request of the BSPA who all stated they would be interested. Saying it and doing it will be another thing. It's still down to money.
  4. It's already been confirmed by CVS that the EL is moving to 2 race nights and that squads and number one job shares are happening in 2017 (although it wasn't made clear if its optional or expected for all sides to conform). Only one club voted against squads and job shares for this season so it looks like 7 of the current EL sides are already convinced.
  5. The dates aren't meant to clash with the PL so I doubt Fridays are being considered.
  6. That's assuming the sensible ones would understand I meant for same PL team, but we'll pointed out.
  7. We have a better number one already, Freddie Lindgren starts the season at second string. Does anyone really believe that he is on less money than Kylmakorpi?? Don't think economics is any different to last season personally.
  8. it makes no sense whatsoever. Different leagues and different supporters. There are plenty of fans that go to as many meetings as they can so will likely float between meetings. They will be the same people that will go to Birmingham too. I know a few Wolves fans that do that and I know some who are neutral that can be found at all available local meetings. They are very much in the minority. Wolves hate Cradley and vice versa. There is no logic for the majority of either Wolves or Cradley fans to support the other. It's happening next season. The sport can't sink much lower than it is in the UK (which affects ALL leagues not just one). Maybe some current EL teams might want to drop down a league and there may be teams that would consider moving up with the new structure for 2017. There will always be a top tier of racing - to suggest otherwise is barmy.
  9. Bit odd this announcement. Kings Lynn suggest more quality Tier 1 riders given that some have removed themselves from it, all promoters agree (no issue with that). Wilkinson agrees to go on it (not one you would consider 'for the future, more a desperate filler. So no real issue with him being included in what must be assumed in case further riders pull out of get injured). on the same day it's announced Kings Lynn had already asked Wilko to replace Lambert and is announced on same day. I don't buy the Lambert availability issue. He is in press this week talking of how happy he was with both deals. If there were fixture clashes possible 1.why not wait to announce Lambert until they were sure and 2.why not ask for the BSPA (and other promoters)to consider including Wilkinson as their number 6 on the draft list earlier in the week??? Something seems a little convenient to me. If the press release had been that Kings Lynn couldn't find a decent standard replacement and had asked for Wilkinson to be included on the tier 1 so they could sign him it would have made much more sense. I feel for Lambert who genuinely seemed happy with the deal.
  10. Of course teams have built their teams without squads because it was agreed at the AGM to introduce it in 2017. It's clear at least 1 promoter wants to force the issue for this season. My point was intended to highlight the issue when it's introduce not to reflect on this season.
  11. it is the way to go but like you say it needs to be fairly implemented. It only suited 1 side to NOT have squads this year so I think it's fair to say virtually all the promoters are on board with the change. It would benefit Poole any season when it's brought in! Like it would any team with a decent asset list - Wolves included.
  12. Ford has been talking about the need for a Squad system for the past 2 or 3 seasons so it's pretty clear he is fully behind it. That said CVS confirmed it is happening next season but it looks like some promoters want to force it early. If riders want to come and share this season I personally don't see the issue.
  13. It appears so. Cook said he would be silly to not include Bridger if he wanted to race and committed. He did also add it might be start of the season, mid season or next season!
  14. I actually thought this was pretty much plan A.
  15. Confirmed in this week's SS. He is testing equipment and then needs to convince Jon Cook.
  16. Let's face it so many of the so called better riders had average 2015 seasons. Whoever ups their game will see their side do well. If the Gerhard engine works well for Freddie then he will do well and the chances for Wolves are greatly enhanced.
  17. Agree that Wolves look weak on paper, but then so do 5 other teams. Like you say, time will tell. One thing I do know is that I won't be losing any sleep if my prediction is wrong.
  18. let me confirm that Coventry have more chance of signing Emil than me! What's that to do with the club's profits and losses? The comment I replied to (even tho it was a tongue in cheek comment) was that top riders didn't bring more people thru the turnstiles which Emil proved the opposite with crowds not seen since the play offs - points made by promoters who Coventry travelled to at the time. Promoters make money most of the time. I don't need to see their accounts.
  19. Given how much weaker every team is this season they still stack up better than most IMHO
  20. Such an enlightening thought and post. True Wolves have under achieved the past 5 seasons but excuse me for seeing the possibilities of this side. No doubt you will remind me if we struggle again or stay silent If we don't. Jeez. Nowt better than a PL or NL snob who is clearly blind to the problems that face the WHOLE of British Speedway, not just one league. Don't you just love a PL Or NL snob trying to tell us there team and racing is better. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  21. I'm sure I read in SS that was part of the plan to switch next season to the Gerhard. It's true Fred wasn't the rider everyone knows in 2015 and it would be daft to suggest he can't get back to a similar level if the switch works. Write him off at your peril, in fact write off the Wolves team at your peril. Team on team there is plenty of room for improvement in the Wolves team which if fulfilled is going to make us very dangerous. Weak on paper yes, but then so are 5 other teams.
  22. Entertainment is the key to me which Monmore offers in abundance. Can't see the argument on Cradley being better to watch because of the amount of more meetings they may or may not win. As far as averages go they tell a small story. Lots of riders on low averages last season. GP stars Zagar 7.83, Harris 7.34, Jonsson 7.98, Holder 7.47, Kildemand 7.10 all failed to top an 8 point average whilst Batchelor didn't make a 7 (6.91). Only one rider managed an average over 9 (Doyle) whilst even Magic and Iversen fell short of 9 point averages. Down from 2014. Time will tell if Freddie improves but he remains a class act in the EL. Cradley look to have a decent side for the NL although Birmingham and Eastbourne slightly stronger. Seems no difference to me as only 2 teams in the EL look better than the rest.
