  1. I'm not saying that clubs can afford it, I'm just quoting what CVS said. Don't shoot the messenger!
  2. Same as they do in Poland and Sweden! As CVS explained whilst it's expected that job shares will be to entice top riders for less matches he did say there is no reason why all other positions can't share too. Certainly is a good idea when trying to avoid doubling up riders missing too many matches if you can another rider to cover matches that is a squad member. It happens in Sweden and Poland that teams have a bigger squad than they have team places for. Sounds a sensible idea to me.
  3. I'm absolutely certain that there will be a money element to any of the riders for signing contracts so in that instance I'm sure PK is no different. Of course some people on here are 'in the know' and likewise having been told information in the past I too haven't posted such details either so maybe there is more in it than meets the eye. Again reading between the lines CVS spoke about PK 'not being keen' on a full season may have as much to do with cutting down his schedule as much as it is being offered the right deal to stay. Even tho it appeared from team building purposes (as it was in November) he was only a stand by for Wolves 2016.
  4. Bug you could apply that logic to any of the PL days then!
  5. But isn't he on record saying he will do everything in his power to ensure the bees fans will have a new track? One would assume this site and move has his backing unless he was just giving a smoke screen to the bees fans to look good?
  6. Ipswich have said they would come back to the EL when it suited. Sheffield under new promotion (since Machin who was against moving up) could also. Glasgow I have read would move up. So perhaps the BSPA already know that Thursday is best because of the Thursday teams wanting to move up. It's a big risk for ALL EL tracks to move off their usual race nights. However to do nothing and allow the league to get any weaker is the worst possible thing to do.
  7. It was daytripper who responded to my post saying flagrag stated he wants fixed points money to Start the season which isn't what he said at all. Like you said he/you were referring to one meeting as a guest. I've read nothing other than Peter not wanting to start 2016 in the UK.
  8. Absolutely correct. Cook is clearly acting out of self interest which is no surprise. How on earth can any EL promoter think that Friday is a good idea given that several PL teams ride on that day plus how on earth is that a tempter for top class riders who have GP practice on that day also every 2 or 3 weeks? Plain crazy. Mondays and Wednesdays would be best as far as minimising clashes with PL although it seems clear that Thursday is one of the set days given that the Stars have changed there race night. That said, how does that affect Sheffield and Ipswich? I can't see either team altering their race nights.
  9. Where is the link that Peter has said that? I've read only that he doesn't want to start 2016 in the UK. Obviously if I have missed that statement then I stand corrected.
  10. Peter isn't interested in starting in UK this season. If he was he would have signed by now.
  11. Surely it will Sandhu who at the time said he would do whatever it took to ensure Coventry had a new track. Assuming of course he is a man of his word.
  12. Let's face it he can't do any worse than 2015 whoever he rides for!
  13. Pete Adams confirmed he spoke to all the GP/top boys on the request of the BSPA who all stated they would be interested. Saying it and doing it will be another thing. It's still down to money.
  14. It's already been confirmed by CVS that the EL is moving to 2 race nights and that squads and number one job shares are happening in 2017 (although it wasn't made clear if its optional or expected for all sides to conform). Only one club voted against squads and job shares for this season so it looks like 7 of the current EL sides are already convinced.
  15. The dates aren't meant to clash with the PL so I doubt Fridays are being considered.
  16. That's assuming the sensible ones would understand I meant for same PL team, but we'll pointed out.
  17. We have a better number one already, Freddie Lindgren starts the season at second string. Does anyone really believe that he is on less money than Kylmakorpi?? Don't think economics is any different to last season personally.
  18. it makes no sense whatsoever. Different leagues and different supporters. There are plenty of fans that go to as many meetings as they can so will likely float between meetings. They will be the same people that will go to Birmingham too. I know a few Wolves fans that do that and I know some who are neutral that can be found at all available local meetings. They are very much in the minority. Wolves hate Cradley and vice versa. There is no logic for the majority of either Wolves or Cradley fans to support the other. It's happening next season. The sport can't sink much lower than it is in the UK (which affects ALL leagues not just one). Maybe some current EL teams might want to drop down a league and there may be teams that would consider moving up with the new structure for 2017. There will always be a top tier of racing - to suggest otherwise is barmy.
  19. Bit odd this announcement. Kings Lynn suggest more quality Tier 1 riders given that some have removed themselves from it, all promoters agree (no issue with that). Wilkinson agrees to go on it (not one you would consider 'for the future, more a desperate filler. So no real issue with him being included in what must be assumed in case further riders pull out of get injured). on the same day it's announced Kings Lynn had already asked Wilko to replace Lambert and is announced on same day. I don't buy the Lambert availability issue. He is in press this week talking of how happy he was with both deals. If there were fixture clashes possible 1.why not wait to announce Lambert until they were sure and 2.why not ask for the BSPA (and other promoters)to consider including Wilkinson as their number 6 on the draft list earlier in the week??? Something seems a little convenient to me. If the press release had been that Kings Lynn couldn't find a decent standard replacement and had asked for Wilkinson to be included on the tier 1 so they could sign him it would have made much more sense. I feel for Lambert who genuinely seemed happy with the deal.
  20. Of course teams have built their teams without squads because it was agreed at the AGM to introduce it in 2017. It's clear at least 1 promoter wants to force the issue for this season. My point was intended to highlight the issue when it's introduce not to reflect on this season.
  21. it is the way to go but like you say it needs to be fairly implemented. It only suited 1 side to NOT have squads this year so I think it's fair to say virtually all the promoters are on board with the change. It would benefit Poole any season when it's brought in! Like it would any team with a decent asset list - Wolves included.
  22. Ford has been talking about the need for a Squad system for the past 2 or 3 seasons so it's pretty clear he is fully behind it. That said CVS confirmed it is happening next season but it looks like some promoters want to force it early. If riders want to come and share this season I personally don't see the issue.
  23. It appears so. Cook said he would be silly to not include Bridger if he wanted to race and committed. He did also add it might be start of the season, mid season or next season!
