Looking Back On The Elite League
stevebrum replied to weatherwatcher's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I see there is the usual PL teams are hardly much weaker than the EL. Utter rubbish. Without EL riders the PL would struggle for riders just as much as the EL would without double uppers. Time the blinded PL fans got off their soapbox. -
Well that puts a different light on the matter. As is usual, there is more to a matter than a press release gives!
-
Must admit I was a little shocked when I read the Berwick angle. Wouldn't it have been easier to discuss WITH Redcar AT the AGM!! Redcar are in the right and Berwick have tried to be a little sly to get the rider they want.
-
Thats just not going to happen. The promoters don't want it. It certainly works in Sweden/Poland.
-
That would never work, and why should it? Birmingham have their own issues getting back up and running without having to worry about Cradley`s woes. Must admit i found the news quite shocking this morning, wonder why the sudden change by Ladbrokes? Birmingham i suppose would be the next step to look at but don't they have even tougher restrictions? Dismal news for Cradley fans particularly with the absence of any news of a new site.

Well said. Only one person responsible of robbing anybody of watching him in action. Let us all hope that a decision is made sooner rather than later, it is a farce already without it looking like the FIM is one as well.
-
Yes, and are better because they have achieved the pinnacle already. Darcy remains exciting but destined to achieve little more at this stage..
-
We have ALL the answers. Over is OVER is OVER. Hanging offence of course no. Banning offence?? (like anyone over the limit?) Absolutely i hope. Unfortunately some of your fellow Poole fans will STILL say we don't have all the facts. And i cannot believe he used that line. Crazy line of defence in the first place but considering he is sponsored by Monster absolutely suicidal thing to say. Like the rest of the sensible Speedway World i bet Monster are beyond themselves trying to accept this latest incident.
-
It wasn't alleged. It was proven. Only blind and blue supporters could and would put forward such a nonsensical idea. Sadly some are.
-
He talked of leaving the thread.
-
At least you said something of remote interest.
-
Bizzarely some STILL defend his actions or the rules around doping. You just cant make this stuff up.

Any 8 month type ban would see most of it spent in close season, which Darcy will learn nothing from. Its a disgrace if he serves most of his ban out of season, where he can drink as much as he likes anyway. Even the (sensible) Poole fans think he should face a ban. Yet Darcy as always thinks he has done no wrong. You are right, a ban should reflect his stubborn believe he is innocent. As its nearly the end of our domestic season his ban should reflect that most of it is out of season. Even now he still feels he has got away with it, facing a ban he STILL rode in Sweden last night. It is hardly believable. If he had any respect he would accept and wait for his ban to take place. FIM are allowing Darcy to go unpunished. Like some of the biased fans. They love to think everyone is against them. Nicki Pedersen IS a dirty rider. However you are right, he has earned the right to be treated as a professional right at the top of his game and profession. Disgraceful he is still allowed to ride, was he breathalysed? As it stands he would be the worst possible role model if he won the World title this year. Great rider yes, but awful professional behaviour. Certainly not the type of role model you want in the sport for the kids or those looking to get into the sport. If Poole had any respect they wouldn't allow Darcy to ride tonight until the FIM have made a decision and shame on his Swedish club for letting him flout the rules. Think its safe to say the title remains with the holder.
-
Not often i find something to agree with you on. According to the FIM rules there should be no IF. Hence why Woffy is much the better rider and professional sportsman. Think Middlo manages to do all that with ease by himself. And should be no different now. Lets hope the FIM dont suck up to the school of all things Ward and Poole bias. If they do they the sport from the highest level is corrupt. That there is no dispute, although it seems some want to continue to make excuse after excuse for him.
-
Nothing unlucky about it. As someone who has a history of drink related incidents he SHOULD be targeted.
-
The FIM ruling on doping tests - seems clear to me. 10.3 Ineligibility for Other Anti-Doping Rule Violations The period of Ineligibility for violations of these Anti-Doping Rules other than as provided in Article 10.2 shall be as follows: 10.3.1 For violations of Article 2.3 (refusing or failing to submit to Sample collection) or Article 2.5 (Tampering with Doping Control), the Ineligibility period shall be two (2) years unless the conditions provided in Article 10.5, or the conditions provided in Article 10.6, are me

In fairness its only the usual Poole apologists. They would excuse anything. Well said. Disgraceful if he does. He should be banned UNTIL the outcome.
-
Well said. Good point. Think the yardstick is already set ie Stefan Danno. Like you say, the precedent has already been set. You know its a stitch up if Ward gets anything less. To be fair it is only the same blinkered few Poole fans. Wrong, he already has. Even the threat of having his career ruined when he fleed from the police after drinking and taking drugs hasn't changed him. He certainly WILL take it lightly. That is a good point! You are kidding right?? No previous should count?? He has had several last chances - time to own up to all of them.
-
He will be treated lightly no doubt and will do something similar within 12 months. He never learns. TOO many chance already.
-
There are no mitigating circumstances. No surprise that Middlo looks for excuses. It is as expected.
-
As he should be, he has history and previous for this behaviour. Should be tested before every meeting, but a ban is the best thing first and foremost.
-
No doubt MF will ensure the BSPA get any ruling changed to suit Poole if he is banned. All in the best interest of (Poole) Speedway.
-
He will, he always has done so far. Cant see him not doing so this time again.
-
Like Middlo would say `its what kids do these days`. No doubt the Poole fans will jump to his defence.

Peterborough Panthers 2014
stevebrum replied to NeilWatson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Nope, he is already committed to Wolves for 2015. He wont be riding here this year now. Just to add think its a shame Joe lost his team place, he has done a decent job.
