  1. In that case fair enough, however a ban usually affects both clubs as the knock on affect of the riders actions. Can’t see see Louis getting much joy tho. I hope they do and is announced.
  2. It was meant to be a joke at the expense of the over the top marshal. I certainly haven’t questioned anything you said? So confused at that comment? My ‘flippant’ remark was about just one errant Marshal, as I’m sure the other flag marshals were in the places they should be!
  3. Hopefully Lynn can get a decent guest but this has to be one Wolves take maximum advantage of.
  4. Pathetic comment from Louis. He is equally as guilty as Cook by sprinting over to act like a thug. No different to Cook. Assuming the ban only affects UK he can ride abroad?
  5. And I’d imagine of all the flags out only one was in the centre of the track.
  6. As soon as the bikes started up, the red lights (apparently) came on and so red flags were shown. There has to be a sequence and catalogue of events. That’s all I’m saying. Yes we know riders pushed off whilst parade was still on, what we don’t know is why. No marshal should be in the middle of track whilst bikes on track. Even if on pits gate.
  7. That’s ok. A bit of respect never hurts anyone. Thanks.
  8. Exactly! It’s a directive from SCB to all tracks. Ditto, but as you see fit to rubbish my posts I’ll do the same with yours. It’s only fair. Anyway, back to grown up matters.
  9. As a Marshall myself I know I’m not allowed onto the track when riders are on bikes, something I sign to say I understand and comply with health and safety issues. Red flags are shown from the infield of the track. So it’s not an opinion at all.
  10. If that happened at all tracks there would have been no issue. But guess what? Some speedway clubs do what they want! It should be the same criteria for all tracks and I hope this is addressed in the close season by the SCB.
  11. It shouldn’t be a fuss at all. Riders generally respect the marshals and vice versa. It’s clear tho this time that the marshal was hell bent on stopping Cook! We still don’t know why those 3 headed off. That’s all subjective. Refs test lights before riders are on track.
  12. Yes I’ve heard that some tracks do this practise but I can only go by what we have been told that there is an expected requirement from all marshals. I fail to see any need for this procedure tho given that when red lights come on and marshals flag red that all riders are aware that it’s time to leave the track after warm up laps. With what has happened at Eastbourne I can see new precedents being set that all marshals stay off track.
  13. What’s relevant is that Marshals aren’t meant to be on track whilst bikes are!
  14. With your 39 posts. Nicely outed. Someone who clearly feels no need to follow health and safety protocol at a motor sports event.
  15. It’s not the responsibility of the Marshal to put himself in danger that’s ANY marshal. If I saw that happen at Birmingham and a marshal put himself at danger I’d expect he would be expected to stand down on his duties. No track/no club/ no official expects a marshal to put themselves in danger so it’s irrelevant which track it happened at. Kids and mascots were safe on centre green, and that’s the marshals responsibility to maintain safety. Its up to the ref and authority to decide actions of any rider(s) ignoring red lights. It’s never up to the marshal to decide what a rider should do whilst on track. Cook is no innocent, however the Marshal was the cause of this whole debacle. Why 3 riders set of during parade hasn’t been answered , still the action of the Marshal is still to maintain safety.
  16. They should also for the safety issues it caused on the night. The job of a marshal is NEVER to stand on the track waving a red flag at any time. So no he wasn’t doing his job. Irrelevant. The minute a rider gets on his bike no marshal is meant to be on the track. Don’t be silly. The marshal would NEVER be instructed to stop a rider! A marshals job is to wave a red flag from the infield at all times. That’s it. The Marshal was an out Of control fool. As a marshal I can answer that. You have to sign a health and safety form at the start of the season. Flag marshal responsibilities are to red flag if the red lights come on and not before. You wave flag from designated area on infield, designated for SAFETY for all. Also to ensure anyone (Press/visitor/mascot/sponsor etc) stays behind the designated area usually from the safety of the middle of the centre green. You aren’t allowed to enter the track when riders on on their bikes on the track, wear visible clothing, you aren’t meant to tamper with any bikes unless it’s to turn off fuel taps (unless you have experience of the bikes) even after a crash. At no time does it suggest you can stand in the middle of the track flagging when riders are on track. Ever. Completely agree. Health and safety issues have to be paramount.
  17. There should be mention made of the responsibilities of the Eastbourne promotion to ensure all Marshals are aware of their responsibilities which include keeping themselves and others safe from harm. There is an infield line on centre greens for a reason at all tracks, it’s the SAFE distance a marshal should stand between centre green and track. And NEVER on track when bikes are on. If Eastbourne aren’t held accountable or put out there own statement about safety of staff then no lessons will be learned and it’s yet another accident waiting to happen.
  18. Cook, Vissing, Kennett all banned for 10-12 days https://www.scbgb.co.uk/news.php?extend.86.1
  19. Cookie banned for 12 days https://www.scbgb.co.uk/news.php?extend.86.1
  20. Aces saving grace is points on the board already. I think only one of Swindon and Wolves will make the top 4 personally. However if they put up the same fight that they did last night you have to believe we stand a chance of getting a result at the NSS. Just can’t see it tho.
  21. Gutted for Wolves in what seemed like a meeting they knew they had to win. Disappointed to have led from the off and then lose out in the final heat. A consolation losing point was a bare minimum but it should have been more. Swindon stay favourites for the top 4 still.
  22. Exactly. Can’t see the Aces missing out on the top 4 unless both Swindon and Wolves have a sensational end to their league programmes.
