  1. We are talking of world class riders since Fred and Tonio. We all know PK, AJ, even Mikael Max were still considered class whilst those boys were around. THJ I don’t think has ever been classed as world class, if so it’s false labelling. THJ has ridden several seasons now in reserve, I don’t even think he rides in Poland anymore. Best of a bad bunch of the rest?? Maybe, maybe not. Berntzon has gone under the radar a lot, and wish he had come to Wolves when it looked possible 3 or 4 seasons ago. Berntzon is holding down a 1st team place in Sweden and rides in Poland too. I don’t think there is much in it personally. THJ has never reached World stage status.
  2. Should? He has never achieved that over here. Some we know are on fake averages. 5 is about what you can expect from him. He has been in downfall for years.
  3. Already stated that Ljung is older. We aren’t ‘looking over his career’ we are looking at what he has to offer now. I think we can all agree that Sweden haven’t produced any World class riders since Freddie and Antonio, which I think was the point we were discussing.
  4. THJ average from last time he was here was 4.64. He isn’t as good as you think then.
  5. Yes true, Ljung seems to be able to pull out decent races at World level without ever really looking like a world class rider. And yes fair point he around before both named Swedes.
  6. As part of the company deal I guess then?
  7. The likes of Nilsson, Berntzon, Thorssell have also all represented their country in GPs and WTC since 2014 and Thorssell is current Swedish Champion. All are achieving better in Sweden these days so are comfortably ahead of him these days. The Swedes haven’t produced anyone of suitable class on the big stage since Lindgren and Lindback, with only Ljung a possible candidate. Sweden are in a worse state than GB for producing the next generation.
  8. Exactly. Makes perfect sense. RR in the play offs is too risky but Poole are doing ok with RR for now. cant beat having a full strength team.
  9. Think your own description describes overrated! I remember him being touted as the next big thing for quite a while and his GP showing proved he wasn’t anything like that class to succeed. He is well down the list of decent Swedish riders who have hardly any riders ready to step up to top level status with only Oliver Bernzston seemingly to have emerged in the past 4 seasons (and he isn’t a teenager anymore). THJ has been poor and a reserve status for a while now. He reminds me of a poor mans Chris Harris (GB /Sweden comparison).
  10. Thought he was still a Panthers asset?
  11. Possibly yes. Tho one of the most overrated riders in the modern era.
  12. Agree, the ones who are probably likely to score more than their average are scarce indeed.
  13. His last average for KL was 4.64 which says it all. He is a decent reserve at best these days in any league. I’m assuming his average puts him at reserve with Covatti in main body? Perhaps the most predictable signing of the week.
  14. Think it’s usually fair to say where are these riders to make a change? However Iversen and THJ have both proven us all wrong!
  15. Fair enough. Just looks really odd timing tho to lose heavily and then add a top rider within hours.
  16. So were Ippo on an average reducing exercise to get Iversen in tonight? Fair play to them for recognising they wouldn’t win without a change. Iversen makes them massively stronger, but losing strength at number 7. Sarj will be worst number 7 since Aarnio.
  17. Apologies, think we have Peterborough away. Not listed on official site,
  18. Just those 2 left, so will be unlikely to make the top 4.
  19. I wasn’t their either so it’s unfair to say whose fault it was. Poole wouldn’t have got a point late on carrying too many underperformers I reckon. Good win for Wolves tho, certainly keeps the pressure on the fast falling Witches and Aces (to a lesser extent).
  20. Were Swindon that good or Ipswich that poor? Either way the Witches are really falling quickly.
  21. Why? Because it was exposed live on TV as a huge embarrassment. We mostly don’t have a clue in the UK how to keep on top of keeping a good racing surface or that clubs are saving money by not doing a good enough job. The NSS is exempt and Wolves used to be one of the best prepared tracks in the country until Doc left. Some tracks have the expertise and huge applause to any club for putting track prep right at the top of their agenda. So yes that includes Poole although having a dangerous track was kinda forced on them.
  22. Try telling that to all the foreign riders who refuse to race here because our track preps are generally poor. Poole is loads better, but it just goes to show how dangerous it was.
  23. Having watched last weeks BT match it’s still wavey and rutty. But less than earlier in the year which goes to show just how poor it was .
