  1. I’m saying a comfortable home win whilst Morris and Jacob still settle.
  2. A lot of that is fair point. And I will grant you it’s more about skill on today’s bike. Personally I like to see riders skillfully trying to master the tight turns and many have become experts over the years and it remains a joy to watch the top boys racing on it although less of that these days. Whilst I accept your point I have to disagree that it’s a track that’s not fit for purpose anymore.
  3. The problem with an Aces fans opinion is just that any track is going to be inferior regards racing so are bound to see most other tracks as inferior. I know Monmore of the past couple of seasons that the racing hasn’t been as good ands that’s quite a bit to do with the loss of Doc as trackman and availability of suitable shale has been a key issue however there were rarely ever any rider moans when Doc was in charge which says more about why reasons Monmore isn’t as good as it was than riders struggling with the track. you can’t say ‘riders poddle around and get in all sorts of bother with it’ unless you go on a regular basis. Thats an accusation thrown at it for years yet SKY loved coming and filming and was regularly voted best prepared. So it’s mostly a nonsense and false claim.
  4. Always variables of course. However when you are facing a team with riders missing, riders getting injured in the match before and a number one not fit to ride in his last 2 heats any opposition team should smell blood and go for the win. The perfect example of that is the Aces V Wolves double header yesterday. Wolves had 2 riders returning from injury and were potentially there for the taking. And that’s precisely what the Aces did. On paper we were stronger but dodgy during that transition period. Sometimes those sort of situations can either work in your favour when least expected.
  5. And you would have lost with a fit Doyle and Musielak. Losing both early and then late on meant they were there for the taking imho.
  6. Have to disagree a little there tho. With Tobi missing and Doyle not riding in 13 and 15 Swindon were there for the taking. If I was a Poole fan I’d be disappointed to not get maximum points at the Abbey.
  7. Wolves is missing and has been one of the better prepared tracks over the past 10 years. You cant Redcar should be on (in another post) and not Wolves because Redcar was based on Wolves by CVS. You want variety in any league also.
  8. Don’t think many would expect Wolves to drop points at home, even Wolves fans. I read it as soon as I saw both Jacob and Nick were both back at the same time. Hopefully we can pick up from this and settle down and hopefully come September we will be bang on form. When it really matters.
  9. It was only 3 or 4 seasons ago that Sweden had 7 teams in their top flight. Getting the track right is the most important part of the entertainment.
  10. Musielak could have done without a poor track but crashed out again at Poole. Doyle also had a crash at Poole and also withdraw before the end of tonight match. Ellis certainly vocal about the state of the track at Poole. i haven’t mentioned the state of the Swindon track which from what I believe was poor as well. Does one need to trump the other? Bank holiday speedway and both clubs serving up dross for entertainment if comments are to be be believed. Whilst Swindon were unlucky and Poole lucky with regards results neither can take any plaudits on what both served up when we need to be giving any visiting public on a bank holiday the best entertainment to take away with them. Another own goal for the sport. Swindon is a ‘new track’ and is bound to have track issues till it’s bedded in properly which begs the question ..... what excuse do Poole have?.?
  11. You have to feel for the Robins having had half their team puck up injuries at the dreadfully dangerous Poole track. Poole can only beat what’s in front of them tho so you have to take advantage of a team obliterated by Poole related injuries.
  12. We are always poor at the NSS so I half expected that. however having 4 potential number ones (all were at some stage last season) we shouldn’t be losing in this manner so it’s a worry and hopefully just a period of transition required. The expected result tho.
  13. I predicted both results. We will need time to settle with the original line up. Congratulations to the Aces on full points tonight. Be interesting to hear how poor we were today in both matches.
  14. Sounds like another calamity at the Poole track, although one person is describing it as a decent meeting. fallers galore so sounds quite a lot wrong with potholes a huge risk. Hate to use this term but sounds like we have the ultimate horror track!
  15. Always believed you can have suitable guest at reserve. Looks like the ruling on 1-5 has been changed tho as appears all can be replaced if injured. 18.10 A GUEST RIDER (G) replaces an absent regular Team Member subject to the following: 18.10.1 If the absent rider, with an established MA, is in the Top 1 – 5 of the Team, then the Missing rider’s MA will be enhanced by + 5% at a Home Meeting to determine the allowance for the Guest rider. 18.10.2 A rider may ride as a Guest (in an Official Meeting) at a Track only once in an 8-day period (within that league) unless he is replacing the Home Teams #1 or is a NDL rider guesting for the Home Team. 18.10.3 The Guest must be in a current Team Declaration and have an MA that is the same or lower than that of the absent rider. If a rider has an established MA in both Premiership and Championship leagues the MA for the league for which the rider is guesting, will be used. If the rider does not have an established MA in that particular league then the conversion factor of 1.5 will apply. 18.10.4 The Guest assumes the position and MA of the Missing rider. 18.10.5 A Guest Rider in a “double-header” shall count as one Meeting only. 18.10.6 No Rider, whose Team is in the Play-Offs may appear as a Guest in the Play-Offs, in that League.
  16. Great to read it was a good meeting. Peterborough is one of the best race tracks in the UK so I’m not surprised.
  17. And riders did in 2018. There was something mentioned about only riding 2 leagues this year that was mentioned in the close season. Tho not sure if that’s actually the case because the SCB rules don’t appear to mention it.
  18. You can be sure his 2018 matches with Wolves will have an affect on his rolling average currently too.
  19. I’ve looked and I’ve looked on the SCB regulations and can find nothing, although I’m sure it was mentioned by the BSPA in the close season as others have indicated.
  20. Not sure when either reserve will get a new average and because it’s done on rolling averages they could stay in that position for quite a while longer. Gone are the days when current form dictates a new average. New averages even have Bomber increasing his average! Go figure!
  21. Actually you are correct, it is 7.006 which does indeed equate to 7.01. His average from last season is now irrelevant because he didn’t start the season in the top flight (well he didn’t get to ride for the team he was named in). So yes it’s 7.01. And I echo the above statement. It’s ridiculous.
