7 dead on.

Kemp has already stated pre season he isn’t doing top flight and would be bad if he dumped his NL club anyway.
-
Yes that’s the case this season. Must be ditching NL or Championship which is harsh on the affected team however seems an odd fog him to make as he would be one of the weakest top flight reserves. Quoted you but realised you had already responded to the information. Had to achieve at least a 3 in top flight from last season.

Ipswich v Wolves 20th May
stevebrum replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
They made a hell of a lot of changes to Ipswich in the winter? Have you been hibernating? The general feedback from fans is that attendance is up and racing improved but like at Swindon BT meeting none of that was reflected to the watching viewer. Lots of Ipswich fans decided to stay at home because of no price reduction and having had a meeting on Thursday. its the promotions (and BT) that are missing a trick. All TV meetings should be 10 or 12 pound to get a crowd in and partially funded by BT. Swindon offered reduction at their BT match and had a good crowd, that requires for some thought from those who promote the sport. -
Good post, although the issue of Jacob being a poor scorer away is a bit of a myth. Was 6th highest away in 2017, although less in 2018 on just under 7. Freddie got accused of being poor away from Monmore for a long time but was one of the best away riders for a long time before 2018. Seems a myth when a rider has such a dominant average at home that his away average is generally poor in comparison however when you compare to other riders it isn’t as bad as you would expect. For example Scott’s away average last season is just over 5.5!
-
Not Kemp, he can’t.
-
I agree , unless 4.73 is too high?
-
The only part I can agree to is that Nicholls isn’t ‘far weaker’ but definitely weaker as the averages over the past 2 or 3 seasons have evidenced. Averages are fact based however and that’s whether you use the official rolling averages/this seasons averages/ averages with bonus points/ averages that include all competitions/ form based averages. They all tell a true and accurate story. I agree that whether we think one rider is better than another can be totally subjective although based on like of that rider and/ team that is where some debate tends to happen. My only point is that Jacob is a better rider evidenced by averages over the past 3 seasons and I can’t see how anyone can dispute that fact irregardless of how Scott has performed for Wolves this season. May I add a very pleasant surprise that he has done quite well in Wolves colours better than I expect quite a few Wolves fans expected.
-
Makes sense as well. Yes I reckon he will stick with those 2 leagues the rest of the season.
-
I remember reading something about him riding too flight so you are probably correct STR.
-
You may well have a point there. Riders without an established average weren’t allowed to race in the top flight which ruled out the NL boys however riders now with an established average from the Championship can race top flight. Kemp certainly does qualify from his Championship average. Does anyone remember or have seen if NL riders can ride in all 3 leagues? Maybe Neil Watson might know?
-
Nearly right then! It’s a ridiculous attempt at trying to fix a long term issue . That said surely a rider that ends the season in a team in the Premiership and starts the following season in the Premiership will keep his established top flight average?
-
Has he said he won’t then? I remember reading something in the winter about not rushing into all 3 leagues just yet until he is ready. I’d love to see him at Wolves too.
-
Should be 4.61.
-
Kemp is worth trying by any team. The kid is dynamite. Doubt Ippo will use him this season so definitely worth a shot.
-
Bates certainly started the season like a rocket, however check his more recent scores. Poor to average.
-
Great news the original line up is finally going to be on track. Huge thanks to Scott who has ridden very well for us and delighted he is fixed up at Peterborough. He deserves it.

Ipswich v Wolves 20th May

I agree, there will never be a better opportunity to get an away win particularly at Ippo. There is a good reason Ipswich are doing well and it’s not just because of Allen. They have a good balance and that shouldn’t be underestimated as well. -
No. Any rider that doesn’t start in the top flight from the Championship has there average with a 1.5 deduction. New ruling this year with the deduction being lessened over the coming years. Another pointless and barmy rule.

He was demotivated last season for both his teams, he was lucky he didn’t get the sack from both teams. This year a completely different rider. Applied, professional and fit. It’s there for all to see this season. Promised so much early on and achieved little since. Maybe this year will be his breakthrough year. No he didn’t, he was stone last in all 3 heats. great point for the boys with plenty of fight. With Allen in the team it probably wouldn’t have been as close so we got lucky on that one. why Harris was in heat 15 is baffling, the explanation by Hawkins was odd too. King and Heeps or Pieszczek only deserved consideration. still, we will take that point. Onwards and upwards. Another ‘new’ shaped track to feature on TV that hasn’t shown the great racing we would expect. The dirt line was way too deep and also slick inside in the first half which was dreadful. At least it got better in the 2nd half. -
IF Bates is the signing for the Panthers then it’s yet another backward step. i can’t believe that’s even being considered tho.
-
Cook would be a 7.00 going on his current Championship conversion. 6.96 available if that’s the plan.

Think Wolves will be a tough challenge but Ippo have been superb at home. With Allen missing there will never be a better chance to get something at Foxhall. 48-42 -
Photographers in British Speedway
stevebrum replied to GreenLightGo's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
My understanding is that the 17 year old would have to have an official license to take pictures and publish. If he has then it’s not an issue. I know at Birmingham there are 3 sometimes 4 photographers all official. A valid point would be if he doesn’t have the required license.
