  1. As pointed out yes I have. But as a TEAM Swindon have a point from all away fixtures. No other team has that level of consistency. Bigger picture and all that.
  2. Swindon haven’t struggled at all so far despite their reserves not scoring well, taking at least a point out of each meeting away from home. They are the standout team of the season so far. However will be interesting to see what happens when teams strengthen up later in the season if Swindon respond as well. With a top 4 performing well they only need 3 or 4 points from each of the bottom 3 to be in with a chance in most meetings this season. Early days I know but so far no struggles at Swindon.
  3. Don’t get we wrong, it’s part of one of the many things wrong with speedway these days and one of the reasons why I only attend if the weather is ok. I’m not taking a risk of wasting my time and money in case it’s off. Im sure the promoters feel pretty similar. It’s their business and their money. No one in the sport can afford unnecessary losses these days so I now have sympathy. Sadly however it’s made me a part time supporter as well.
  4. I think we have to bring Jacob back. Scott has done a brilliant job but we need to be the ones who get to use Jacob on his low average. My only other thought is that if this ongoing injury issue to Nick is going to drag on then we need to move soon to replace him with Scott. Very little between the 2 at the start of the season. Nick 6.60 and Scott 6.47. I would imagine Scott goes above that when official averages change?
  5. No surprise that some make things personal. Has always been a poor way to try make a point.
  6. We can see why now why promotions are calling off meetings early. If there is a doubt of rain and the promotion call off early then they don’t incur costs so it could make the difference between surviving the season or not. sadly this is how desperate the sport has become now for survival. The downburst was fairly heavy but short and wouldn’t have been an issue tonight. With Leicester being their closest rivals they will want to maximise the option to ensure fans turn out for it.
  7. Think it’s Cook issue not Busters. Buster would sign him in a heartbeat so long as it was on a wage that suited him. If Cook wants to price himself out and lay down his own terms then it’s only him that is doing himself out of a top flight place. i can see him in somebody’s line up soon once the averages allow. My guess is it will be the team that pays him the most.
  8. Probably as expected results for both sides. Aces kept things close early on at Monmore so a great home win in the end for Wolves, Becker yet again proving why virtually every team wanted to sign him pre season. Another great show from Luke. Hopefully there will be no trolling of falls as well. As predicted, 2 great meetings played out to big bank holiday crowds. Both tracks delivering the good again.
  9. I couldn’t believe that anyone would write something like that unless I saw it with my own eyes. Shocking.
  10. Not really surprised at the result as the Aces look extremely strong at home. Hopefully we can return the favour at home although they have a great track record at Monmore so I expect the score will be a close one. 47-43.
  11. In fairness it’s only 1 or 2 people (or multiple aliases) that spoil threads with that comment. Anyhow, let’s hope for 2 great matches with bumper crowds at both tracks, both renowned for preparing brilliant racing surfaces.
  12. I’m so looking forward to my 2nd favourite place to watch Speedway at later in the year. Great track, and great racing usually.
  13. No surprise a Wolves thread and the usual ‘crashes’ comment appears. Some people can’t help themselves. Boring AF. Crashes happen at every track, shock horror.
  14. The usual home and away bank holiday fixture which hopefully will be well supported at both tracks. id go with a home victory for both meetings. thoughts?
  15. Another good home win for the team predicted to be complete also rans. Another strong performance against a strongly fancied team.
  16. Great to hear the new track layout appears to have stood up well. Well done to all involved. Expected a Poole win so a decent result and comeback by the home side. Great to hear a good crowd turning out too.
  17. Neil has already confirmed that it doesn’t have the space to increase so complete nonsense. At least your bottom line is absolutely correct. The tracks are the stage and should always be a priority.
  18. Ditto every track can produce great racing if prep’d right!
  19. A new track with little practise could indeed be a banana skin meeting for the home side. Swindon looked impressive in their first match last night so should be a home win.
  20. Must admit I thought it was an odd comment in the first place. One of the widest and best racing tracks in the UK.
  21. Is it a disappointment tho? Not many would have expected the Robins to win. I’d say it’s a great result getting a point and keeping it close throughout against one of the more fancied teams this season.
