  1. How so Steve? Holder was scheduled to ride at the start of the year and wouldn’t have been number one either and on form I doubt he would have taken the number 1 mantle. thought Kurtz was always the ‘one over 8 rider’ this season or did I miss something?
  2. Looks like you will have plenty of posts to quote then. Busy, busy busy.
  3. Track prep of course is key and the riders are always happy when a track is well prepared, regardless of the size. I didn’t take any offence at the irrelevant comment as I gathered what you meant by it. Monmore remains the sort of track that is great at mastering the art of throttle control which is still a key skill to being a well rounded rider. Whilst I agree with most of what you say my only slight disagreement is that you see bikes taking off and lifting violently on tracks of all sizes so of course it is a power issue and generally not rider error in those events.
  4. Good point. Bikes are way harder to ride and handle in recent years than say 20 years ago. Mostly track prep doesn’t move with the times.
  5. I’ve found some of them the same, or didn’t hot up until late into the meeting. Big tracks aren’t always ensuring of great racing.
  6. At least we got over 30 points which is a nice bonus considering home shockingly bad we have been away. The expected result and season over.
  7. Wolves IS a good race track. But stop trolling. The NSS is one of the best tracks in the world. Without question. Thought the 1st half of the match was pretty average with minimal passing but from heat 9 onwards wow, wow, wow. We are so lucky to have a track this good in the UK.
  8. Totally agree. Jack has had a reality check this year with more pressure at number one for the Colts and just how tough Speedway can be by being let down badly by the 2nd tier teams. credit to Swindon for sticking with him. He isn’t there to score 3 or 4 points , that’s the job of the much stronger number 6. That’s what you get when you sign a 2 pointer, it gives more options higher up the team. had the pleasure of watching Jack in his first full year in the sport and has progressed rapidly since then. This year I agree he has stalled. In the top flight he doesn’t have many other NL standard riders to race against. I just hope he sees this as experience as that’s really all it is.
  9. They can still mathematically make it but don’t expect they will.
  10. Exactly! It’s almost like no one wants 1st pick tho. seems pretty easy to me, whoever finishes top will pick Belle Vue or Swindon who are by far the weakest of the other teams. just seems odd results happening this week.
  11. Bizzare result after 11 out of 12 wins for the Stars up till now. seems nobody wants to be top of the table,
  12. There are many reasons why he wouldn’t. The natural one appears to be aggravated back injury which has been reported and we know he has had crashes in recent weeks. Perfectly understandable.
  13. That’s it, you hang on to that 1% chance as your proof. still the result was always going to be the same as I’ve been saying for weeks we never stood a chance. I was right eventually.
  14. I’ve known that for weeks. Would have taken a freak of nature or several away wins for it to be a possible reality. That reality ended after 2 defeats at Kings Lynn. Still, I’m sure it makes some happy to believe we still had a chance. 1% at best.
  15. I stated also that Wolves weren’t good enough to make the play offs and wouldn’t. we had something to ride for technically not realistically. Anyway I know you like to always be right so you must be really happy right now. Do we still have something to race for by the way on Wednesday?
  16. As previously expressed, a result I well and truly expected. Kings Lynn are bang in form right now with 11 out of 12 wins and very much the team to beat. was surprised to see the scores at half way and looked dominant for Wolves but seems their away form seems to have replaced performances at the Green. To be up 10 and then lose by 4 is pretty poor but indicative of our season. Just not good enough. well done the Stars, go on and get the title now. no doubt there will still be those who say we can still make the play offs and everything is still to play for. We haven’t been good enough for 6 weeks now.
  17. We are decent at home and that’s a fair point. We should win at home but with us now needing to win away to even stand a chance of potentially nicking that 4th spot I’d like to see us performing better away leading into the play offs not getting worse! The Stars look really good with Riss now part of the team and I’d favour them over any team right now. Lambert is awesome at the Green, Robert I mean. Puk is a former Wolf and track record holder and Proctor is a Wolves asset with plenty of experience of the track. 1-6 is superb in those positions with only Simon a potential weak link. Ill be massively delighted if Wolves win but won’t be surprised in the slightest if the Stars take all points on offer. They are THE team to beat now and I hope they go on and win the title now. Careful, you will have Bwitcher claiming we are still very much in it and could still make and win the play offs. Back in the real world however you are completely right.
  18. Will be a tough one for Wolves. Sadly think it will be a Stars win but I hope Wolves prove me wrong!
  19. We won’t finish bottom but I expect a battle over 5th and 6th with 6th place probably our season end finish. The only way Wolves will win away is if Pirates are on a deliberate average manipulation. That much is for sure.
  20. It’s the comments of a realist. We have been needing away wins now for the past few weeks to have a chance and the last few results have been terrible. I’d love Wolves to make the top 4, of course I would. We aren’t in very good form and got 3 riders injured or carrying injuries (roo, Nathan, kyle). The likelihood is pretty remote. If we get any points away I might change my mind tho. I really hope that’s the case. Dreadful consequences if it was to go that way
  21. Big difference, teams that have gone on to win the play offs from 4th are usually slap bang in form in September. Huge difference. With respect the Aces had turned a corner before Dan got injured and he is irreplaceable with RR and even if guests were available for 4th rider there isn’t really anyone that could score his points either. Swindon are bang out of form and Wolves are terrible away. That’s why I say the 4th play off team will be fodder.
