Lakeside V Belle Vue - 4 May - Sky Match
TonyE replied to TonyE's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Probably a difficult day for track prep - getting water into it on a dry sunny day can't have been easy. Plus we have the possibility of interference from Sky's 'track co-ordinator' (RR) - certainly, the track was not up to the standard we have become used to but some very entertaining racing nevertheless. -

The Hammers haven't exactly been that busy themselves of late. -

Nothing at all on the Aces website! -
Just over 48 hours to go and the weather forecast is favourable. Should be a good meeting but what with an off race night and Sky in attendance - the crowd will be well down imo.

Whilst it would be wrong to call all promoters clueless, clearly a majority are! -
Coventry V Poole El Friday 22nd April 2016

Yet another case of an away side scoring 46 'genuine' points and losing the meeting. Something wrong with that in my opinion. -
Any Robins fans feeling optimistic regarding this one? Weather should not be a problem (rain wise) but looks as if thermals will be required.
-
First home meeting for Wolves coming off two away wins. Hopefully the Hammers will give them a sterner test.
-
Well, yes - it was many years ago that I adopted my 'signature'.
-
When it comes to contentious issues, it cannot be denied that the eventual outcome is usually favourable to Poole.
-
Given that they have both completed six meetings for the Hammers and the current way British Speedway is 'regulated', that is quite possible notwithstanding that their respective averages from those six meetings are : PS = 7.08 LK = 4.46 As they say - 'only in Speedway'

With 8 points from his last 15 outings, he would seem the obvious candidate. Almost anyone would be better!

Lakeside V Poole Ela. 8/04/16
TonyE replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I feel for all of you that were impacted by the traffic issues. The 'authorities' concerned do not give the impression that they are capable of clearing what is a major artery in a timely fashion. When I arrived at the track (7.25ish) I couldn't believe just how below expectations the crowd level was. It didn't take long to find out why. I would like to see the contingency plan they have for minimising disruption to motorists in the event of incidents such as yesterday's. -

After a shaky start, a stonking win from the Hammers. Now, if they could just sort Rob Mear out -
It is a difficult situation for Leicester. All members of their squad need to be 'on form' if they are to be competitive and, as others have said, they look weak, particularly in the latter heats. Problems attracting quality riders are down to what? - a Saturday race night - management issues - there has been a number of 'falling outs' with riders Whatever the cause, there is no excuse for riders giving the impression that they are not even trying I for one hope they come out of their present situation - no one likes to see a team continually trounced - it isn't good for the sport.

Nor could I for the dust cloud! Lambert was fortunate to be in that particular re-run as, in my opinion, he should have gone in the preceding attempt.
-
I was impressed with Kim, Richard and Robert in particular. Lakeside fans always knew Piotr was way better than the silly sub 4 average he came in on. Given time I believe the two Lewis's will come good. For AJ, it was a bit of an off-day but we all know what he can do. For Lynn, a couple of surprisingly poor performances and I thought Lambert should have been excluded way before he eventually was. I thought Kai did OK for his first visit to Arena. NKI looked class as always but seemed to have no answer when Kim passed him. I didn't think Lewis Rose would have been eligible for Heat 15 but what do I know?
-
Given the strokes pulled by your esteemed promoter in the past, they probably thought it wasn't worth the effort!
-
It is quite simple really, Lakeside signed Bjarne first at a time when he had no Polish team or commitments. If, when he later contemplated signing for a Polish club, he could have said that his UK club comes first re fixture clashes and may well have done so (although unlikely) and the Polish club would almost certainly not have signed him on that basis. Anyway, he did sign up knowing there would be an issue and has now paid the price insofar as Lewis is the better option when it comes down to availability.
-
Other than when presenting for Sky, he will be available to Lakeside. They took him on knowing that to be the case. Now all is clear - Ford is to blame.
-
How injudicious of him (if that is what he actually said). His role is to work with the team formulated by the promoters (those whose money is at risk) rather than undermine their selection of riders.. Not sure just what team make up he was contemplating - with AJ, BP & LB in the top five, there remains only 11.78 to play with. Dropping Kim just doesn't make sense. Eddie & Richard share one position for a reason. All of which, leads me to believe he has been quoted out of context and, given the poster, I am quite prepared to believe that is the case.
