  1. Light is good, less mass equals faster bike. As long as he has the strength to turn the bike, lack of weight is not an issue.
  2. Good start, one on my wish list and one unknown, who's next?
  3. Anybody got a local forecast for tonight please.
  4. Spinny, why didn't you go watch the Scorpions much nearer and better racing? All your Sheffield management there again enjoying some great racing
  5. Auty's season is over due to ankle problems- unfortunately for us.
  6. Just a question. Was Josh Auty granted a testimonial this year? Did I miss it, or has his injury postponed it???
  7. Lucky enough to be on the back straight and got to greet our team, but agree a ride round on the truck was no biggie. As for the PA on the back straight-pretty useless and echo all around. I never heard any firework announcement either but not real bothered. Only real bother was Gino- looked well glum and no interaction with fans at all, somebody tell him we won!
  8. Thought promotion and fans had agreed- we don't like Sunday afternoon dust bowls and prefer usual Friday night consistent track
  9. Jeez, give the lad a break. He puts up the match advert week after week, done in his own time and very probably for free. He also puts in a lot of time at amateur meetings , in field flag marshalling, starter, ref's box etc. He also does a sterling job on speedway updates site ,again all voluntary. All in all a true fan of the sport.
  10. After the dust storm on heat 1 it was clear track was bone dry. The rain was barely a fine drizzle until midway through the meeting when it turned to light rain. Even by end of heat 15 hardly a puddle on the ground. Well done to the Scorpions all up for it, well done to the Ref for pushing meeting along too. 15 heats still to play for but so far advantage Scorpions.
  11. Rob was well aware we were poor, so was Dave Peet and Steve Worrall was embarrassed by the performance, or lack of, as well. I am sure if Jason had his say he would have been disappointed with his team mates also, but probably said with passion and a few more choice less pc words! Jake and Josh have been prolific scorers at home and were always going to be sorely missed. Stefan needs more races to re hone his track craft. Don't know what I can say about the reserves, apart from not good enough. I stayed until the bitter end hoping it was all a one off, with the track not suiting ,us not gating, and Ipswich just so much better on the night. I saw a few new faces who I personally knew attending for the first time, don't expect on this performance they will return in a hurry.
  12. No Wayne Carter was in a red t shirt, it was someone I did not recognise, but Gino was listening intently to older guys advice.
  13. Nice to see Gino getting plenty of practice in yesterday.Looked like he was having fun helping the amateurs out and at same time getting plenty of track time for himself. Don't know who person on start line was giving Gino advice? Young Jack looked alarmed when Gino jumped on the back and set him on probably his fastest lap.
  14. A draw always feels like a defeat to the home team. Blown away by the Reserves yet again ,with our reserves not even close in any races. It is what it is now, but Gino has gone backwards since his spill in Germany and his confidence looks shot. What was Mr Peet doing in heat 15, when Jake was clearly a much better bet than Steve to pair up with Josh? Well done Bandits on a competitive match , I think our play off place is now blown.
  15. You still laughing Odsalboy? Get yourself to the EWR for some real racing because your management have stuffed your season big style.
  16. 3 Sheffield promotors for a start plus 1 ex Sheffield team manager and yes they do get in for free.
  17. Think you will find that already lots of Sheffield fans go to the EWR to get their fix of races with passing in.
  18. Think a few more Sheffield supporters will make the short journey up the M18 and M180 to watch more entertaining racing at the EWR.
  19. We might have a full team, a bit battered and bruised maybe, but non the less a welcome change for the Scunthorpe fans. A must win needed for us too, so expect a very competitive meeting.
  20. Season on season Rob is just too loyal to his underperforming reserves, but 2018 season who do we replace them with? There are not many capable, low average riders out there, so its a catch 22. The points scored between the two reserves is not good enough and is costing us match winning points, frustrating yes, but where do we go from here? Playoffs are a distant memory I think.
  21. It just goes from bad to worse with our injuries. Will we ever have our own 1 to 7 before the season ends?
  22. Tero was just about to be swallowed up by both Scorpions when he punctured ,so don't think Diamonds would have got their point anyway. All in all a good show by both teams. "Expect an announcement tomorrow" they said at the after meet conference- Stevie back in the team from next week???
  23. Weather forecast looks pretty poor, might be an early call off anyway. Gutted for Stefan who was having a great season up till then, and such a nice lad too. Just love his one liners at the after meeting conferences, very funny and cutting. Get well soon.
