They’ve been posting videos on social media all week off road mountain biking then diving into rivers off bridges.
-
Crikey. I hope Hook, Bewley, Tate and anyone else who’s been diving off bridges this week with him haven’t caught it as well

Some top stats. Those are the kinds of things football commentators will use to fill silences and provide build up. Speedway fans will just get that Bomber is the one to watch because of his British final exploits, Kvech the GP rider and the emerging talent that is the sensation Boughen *and repeat*. Must add that I'm referring to the TNT coverage

Belle Vue v Leicester Monday 19th May Live on TV
DJC replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Was a strange fixture to pick given the overall calendar but I guess that sums up the coverage these days. -
Is Speedway still a "working class" spectator sport?
DJC replied to JamesHarris's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Completely agree. At Newport almost the full 7 would be in the bar for at least an hour after the meeting, usually joined by some away riders for a drink and chat with the fans of both sides. Somerset also did this quite well with interviews and stuff after the meeting. The few years after Newport closed we went to Swindon a lot and there was barely one rider in the bar after the meeting. That's when the disconnect started for me. Riders are out of the pits before paying public are allowed in like they used too. All the 'pro athlete' stuff doesn't mean anything without fans and fan interaction -
Gusts short term is a great shout, in the SGP2 and world cup/son thing last year Louis was waxing lyrical about him. Was surprised he didn't snap him up (until they announced the full side of course)

No Dan T out of the u21s, not a great weekend for witches

It could be a bit of a masterstroke in this league, was a shame to see him dropped so soon given his undoubted potential. Presumably he comes in on a 5? Dan always seems to get a nasty knock as he starts getting going and his development goes backwards, real shame for the lad as I think there is something there. Can't see him back before the tail end of the year with those injuries though.

Gusts in for Gilkes

Forgot this thread existed and posted the odds on the Final thread. I fancy Dan T EW at 28/1 for the same reasons

Surely he won't come unless he fails to qualify for the SEC

Ipswich ‘Witches’ vs King’s Lynn ‘Stars’ - Monday 5th May
DJC replied to StarBoy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Surely throwing him into so many international meetings can't be helping him either. Unless they're hoping he rides himself back into confidence but that's a very hard thing to do. -
They have to be commended on moving so fast to make sure they’ve got a full 7 but how Kerr is still getting a spot in the top league is beyond me. Im still shocked that Poole went for him. Both will need a replacement by the end of May when he’s inevitably on the sidelines but as others have said it shows how hard it is to bring riders over. what happened to the Ukrainian lad that was said to be working in London?
-
Feels very much like they’re on damage control and trying to control the narrative to suit and cover themselves. Especially after the Rzeszow statement about legal ramifications.

Difficult one this year: Freddie Hodder 7.11 Colts NL Luke Harrison 7.66 Scun/Sheff Steelers NL Ashton Vale 6.24 Oxford Chargers NL Stene Pijper 4.82 Leicester Fox Cubs NT Luke Harris 5.36 Scun/Sheff Steelers NL Senna Summers 3.44 Brum Bulls NT Cooper Rushen 3.00 Leicester Lion Cubs NL 37.63

Was his first meeting back over here after a pretty bad smash, getting through that meeting unscathed was probably his main priority. From what I've seen of him he's much the opposite (not in terms of career but racing style) but seems to get himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. He's already had some bad crashes and the majority of them were due to others knocking him off
-
Can see King having a spell at reserve this year the way Thompson's trajectory is going, which will do him no harm at all. I've been overly critical of him the last few years but effectively being the no 5/6 in averages should suit him well and turn him into the trump card that Harris is.

Would be very 'speedway' if Marson is in it...and wins it over Cairns! We all know who the better rider will end up being but it would make me chuckle all the same.

Anders was mascot for a while when he was a kid so I'll take the technicality on 3 riders that have worn a Wasps race jacket! Great line up. Hope he gets a bumper crowd I imagine he'll be over for it but regardless of whether he does a few laps. There will probably be a few of the old Newport Danes over, wouldn't be surprised to see Lund there as well

I have seen that on there, but who knows what they would actually use these days. @gmuncie suggested there isn't a specific call out for it and, all in the interest's of the sport and all that. It would make sense if they are trying to use up their points that they'd be trying to argue an average. Otherwise surely Trigger would have been in a long time ago.
