  1. Sky bet have never been the best at this time of year. Can't post the screenshot but they are currently: Zmarzlik 8/11 Bewley 13/2 Lambert 8/1 Freddie 10/1 Kubera & Doyle 16/1 Holder 20/1 Vaculik 25/1 Thomsen & Michelsen 33/1 Brady 40/1 Fricke 50/1 Lebedev, Kvech & Huckenback 100/1 Vaculik and Brady look the best value for EW at 1/4 odds
  2. Thank you. I knew the promotion and a few riders went over - I put two and two together from old stories and it seemed like they'd moved the whole thing over in my mind!
  3. I agree, that 40/1 tag will surely drop a bit now. Should have stuck my tenner on him instead of a Zirkzee winner at the weekend!
  4. Fair play, some season for Brady. Hopefully he can pick up in the GPs like he's finished this year. Could put the cat amongst the pigeons with 3 home track events and last years home track in Sweden on the calendar.
  5. Newport in 77? Believe they were the called the Dragons, the Newport promotion went across after Somerton Park closed and took a few riders over. Way before my time but understand fans didn't travel as well as expected I could have got that wrong but that was my understanding from what my old man had told me.
  6. Not yet, no. Teams meets all morning and I'll forget it I don't ask now!
  7. Sorry for the Q RnR. Can't get on there through the work laptop anymore, have they had the updates for the other meetings on there? Haven't seen much outside of the top 4 and that Hagon scored 1.
  8. Slightly off topic, I found a 28th Dec issue in the not so local Asda yesterday; rarely buy one these days but was wondering if there had been a 'Your Newport' feature that I may have missed? The 'Your Reading' one was a great little read and my old man would love to read/provide input to a Newport version.
  9. Closest I can find is an Ebay listing for the programme. Very blurry but looks as though Phil Morris won it. Brent Werner, Robbie Kessler and Steve Masters also made the final. Newport Speedway Programme 1/2/2000 The New Year Classic VGC | eBay
  10. Bet your fun at parties 🤡 Hope it absolutely hammers down
  11. Broke both arms in a bad one didn't he? Not been the same since. He's an odd signing when you think they could have had the up and coming Foord. Both as injury prone as each other but would say Foord's machinery is better/more reliable. My guess is that they had a new face lined up but the average was 5 not 4 and Starke was all that was left to fill the gap alongside the rumoured sacrificial lamb.
  12. They should be on for the pairs if they keep them both fit and healthy! unless it's been binned off of course
  13. Darryl Ritchings was not on my 2025 team place bingo card. 6/7 years since he last rode at this level isn't it?
  14. David Kujawa turned up with just a helmet and had 3 last's in his only meeting. He was the world u21 Champ only 3 years before. They don't get much worse than that signing
  15. Sheffield and Glasgow did a great job of announcing in 1 this year, Ipswich also did a good job in announcing their 1-7 over a few weeks. As long as you do a good job of it, either way seems perfectly fine. You have Redcar and Belle Vue doing it in front of an audience at a supporters meet and I think that is pretty effective too especially to have some of the lads in attendance. The drip feeding of news over the course of the winter is a bug bear of mind, that's probably a throw back to the Newport days when some years it felt we didn't know who would be there on PnP day though!
  16. Could they have signed him in both leagues on both averages? If so, Knudsen seems an odd choice. obviously he probably wouldn’t have wanted to do both leagues but getting him in the championship on a 5 would have been some signing
  17. Have to agree, only seemed to take him 2/3 laps to sus a new track out and he looked smooth and quick in his next rides. Surprised Leicester went for Cook over him- if he doesn’t end up at Brum that is!
  18. Confirmed as expected. Video was a good idea but not up to their usual standard Harris Boughen D Thompson Flint Howarth Perry Hodder
  19. 13.4 I think. Dudek on an 8 and a 5 point newcomer to start at reserve?
  20. Hadn’t seen that, hopefully that’s what it is
  21. Gilkes announced he’s making an announcement about his future in speedway tomorrow morning. Hope it’s not that he’s leaving the sport. That would be 2 RS’ this season
  22. Improved, more riders come away improved than not. Especially those at the start of their uk carers. There will always be exceptions to the rule. Perry being the most recent and obvious. I do agree with your point that they have a good eye which certainly helps that though.
  23. Winning breeds confidence I guess. He started the season for both teams as he finished the last. The extra responsibility with Brum coupled with the lesser pressure at Poole is probably a fairer view. I'm no Poole fan but you can't argue that riders more often than not come away from there as better riders, especially the younger ones.
  24. True, but I think the stability of being in a pretty much all conquering side brought him on that little bit further though. The biggest shock is replacing someone who rarely missed a meeting with someone who seems to spend more time in A&E than riding.
