  1. I wouldn't at all be surprised that a few hundred at any of the T20's were once attendees of Speedway at some point in their lives.
  2. Personally won't do a double header again anywhere if over £20. The 2nd meeting 9/10 times turns into a fiasco. I couldn't care less what the riders get paid etc as it's about value for money to the fans. For everyone's interest, would have been there Monday and costs pending would have been there for this one as the other half and her lad are Wolverhampton fans.
  3. The answer to your question is there's far to many Danish rider's in the Premiership and clubs won't run on a Wednesday because these rider's would be missing
  4. It's only King's Lynn that's playing up with 5 remaining home fixtures. Somerset have 5 remaining also which they have sorted apart from one. Guess which club is holding that situation up? No prizes for the correct answer Every other Premiership team have 3 or less home fixtures left so no problems for them. I'm fully expecting Wednesday 5th September to also be a double header for King's Lynn again Leicester.
  5. The season needs to start by March 1st. Run the Ben Fund meeting on that day every year then every team has fixtures by March 2nd. September 15th the cut off for league fixtures. This should be rigid, never altered. From March 2nd > May 31st every club must have 1 home fixture a fortnight minimum scheduled. From June 1st > August 31st every club must have a home fixture schedule weekly. This includes leaving dates open for rain-offs on "off race nights". There is absolutely NO excuse for running out of dates and needing double headers. All rider's should be contracted and available to race British Premiership Speedway every Monday and/or Wednesday, (possibly Thursday and/or Friday in 2019). If away teams do not have a fixture planned on an available rescheduled date by the home team the date CANNOT be refused by the away team. People blame fixed race night's for the problem but the issue is with fixture planning and the rider's the clubs have employed. We've had this problem year on year, long before fixed race night's even existed. Fixed race night's ain't the problem, Sweden and Poland manage to get it sorted.
  6. And the fault of that lays with the promotion. King's Lynn knew when they came out the AGM fixed race night were to be Monday and Wednesday's. At the end of the AGM we only had Jorgensen signed. The signing of Iversen was up in the air as he wasn't sure of a British League return. By mid December the club had their 2-7 chosen, our popular No1 was still uncertain. As we entered the new year Iversen puts pen to paper, so that 3 Dane's signed knowing Denmark takes priority on Wednesday's. Initially we had 3 Dane's so we knew racing Wednesday's could be problematic enough. Then Rose left and we employed Palm Toft adding to the issue. Now further into the season we're running a double header because rider's ain't available on Wednesday's. Fixed race night's HAVE NOT caused the problem. Having Dane's in the team knowing full well Denmark has priority IS THE PROBLEM, i.e. no fixture tonight. The blame is firmly at the door of the management and not the Championship clubs because they wanted to keep Thursday's. Going OFF race night also doesn't seem to be a problem for other clubs to try and fulfill their fixtures but we can't seem to be able to manage that option either. To now hear we're being awkward to other teams for our away fixtures is nothing short of appalling. The club IS being run appallingly and the issues we're running in to are all the club's management's own doing. The blame cannot be placed elsewhere. The whole atmosphere had been very positive for a couple of months then the same problems rear their ugely head again. Not just British Speedway but King's Lynn as a club really do have some sorting out to do.
  7. Fix race night is totally irrelevant to the problem we face. It's happened for years. Whether our night's are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday etc King's Lynn always seems to go missing on the fixture list through May and June, just having the odd scattered fixture here and there. This has always been happening. Then once we get into August, a couple of rain offs then panic sets in and double header are required. Fact to count in Our season didn't get started until 18th March due to poor weather. Since then we've only had 3 rain offs including yesterday. Between March 18th and September 9th that exactly 48.22% of 2018. Exactly 20 weeks and 5 days. With the World Cup it's 19 weeks and 5 days. Fixed race night's gives us 38 race night's to fulfill 16 home fixtures. The fixture planning from the club is appalling. If there's clashes with Denmark, who's fault is that?!? It's only the club's for employing so many Dane's. Every other Premiership team manages ok on a Wednesday. In May we had 3 home fixtures in a 5 week month. In June we had 1 fixture in a 4 week month. If we can't get our fixtures in it's only the club's poor planning throughout the season. There's no excuse for rushing fixtures at the end of if planned correctly earlier in the season. Fix race night's IS NOT the cause.
  8. What's race night's got to do with not fulfilling the fixtures?? The club has gone weeks without a meeting then put on 3 in 8 days. We're capable in running meetings on Monday and Wednesday's so not short on available dates. King's Lynn shouldn't struggle to get meetings in and then require double headers.
  9. Oh dear, not gonna end well. Double headers never do at the AFA.
  10. There's that trust issue raising it's head again So basically, it's p!$$ing down which people are reporting but the club want people to believe things are absolutely hunky dory. Brilliant
  11. Nice try, 5+3 and 4 rider's contributed less had nothing to do with there home defeat Shovlar - must try harder
  12. The rest I agree but no way is Jorgensen better than Masters head to head.
  13. Smoke screen. King's Lynn couldn't bring Andersen back once they signed Riss.
  14. One phrase nobody can associate with Iversen is "Mr Bigtime". He's a man with feet firmly on the ground, probably to his detriment in reaching the very top of the sport. For King's Lynn, Iversen will go down as a great but maybe not quite a legend.
  15. Still awaiting the fix for guests and doubling up. How many tracks should we close down so doubling up isn't required? How many rider's shall we put in squad systems who don't earn a penny all season? What do we do when teams pick up 3 - 4 injuries or rider's quit part way through the season? British Speedway needs guests and doubling up to make the sport viable, until a reasonable option becomes available to change it. Nobody has come up with a valid, reasonable or acceptable alternative option. Until then, we have what we have.
  16. British Speedway needs guests and it needs doubling up. None of these discredit the sport. With riders doubling up, they still belong to those clubs and with fixed race night's the clash issue doesn't exist like 2017. What does discredit the sport is certain promoters who power trip, make up rules, make up rider's averages and dictate other clubs fixtures.
  17. But that 7.15 average will make him a highly sort after rider in 2019
  18. Andersen can't come back in. If Simon was still riding on a 28 day injury contract then Riss couldn't be in the team as they'd of had to use Andersen's 4.00 average for team building. This would have put us over the points limit. To have Riss in the team we have to continue with Simon or someone else on the same or lower average.
  19. An "outside the box" idea. Rolling starts?!? Most of the damage caused to equipment is at the start. So, from the start, rider's line-up as normal from gates 1>4. A dude on a scooter in front of the gates takes off, the rider's follow behind for 1 lap, on lap 2 the scooter pulls off at any point, then the racing starts and it's 4 laps of racing.
  20. I'd like to think my tweet to Dale may of had an influence in the decision.
  21. I agree. They got both decisions right. Tried something new in the hot laps and then cancelled them, they didn't add much to the meeting.
  22. I like the fact that Poole fans, especially Shovlar think I'm bitter with defeat I'm not very complimentary of King's Lynn this year, to spell it out, the racing at King's Lynn is s#!+e, the owner I have no confidence in and only Lambert and Proctor are the only 2 rider's I like in the team. I'd personally drop all the Dane's. So, I'm not one of those blinkered fans Shovlar talks about. Poole deserved the win, we deserved the thrashing, Poole should top the table and win the Play-Offs at a canter. I have no problem with Poole's team changes etc etc which I've defended Poole for. This season Poole have done thing's the right way and deserve every success this season. BUT It's absolutely disgraceful to think that using waste oil and contaminate the environment for binding shale. I've never heard of it done before and I'd certainly be on the case of every other club that does. There is tonnes of evidence that this was done on purpose and it should not be allowed to be swept under the carpet. With a water table, Poole Speedway are contaminating the water, it's disgusting and should be flagged up, and the statement from Poole Speedway regarding the clean up is frankly embarrassing. They were caught red handed, have no permit to use waste oil, should absolutely be fined accordingly.
  23. Why in your opinion was Robert wrong to put it on social media?? It's illegal to dispose of waste oil on any land without a permit, should never be kept secret if seen.
