Leicester Lions 2018
Daniel Smith replied to The Observer's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I get the feeling some Swindon fan's are a bit sour as they thought at least a couple of Leicester's new boys were on the way to them. Complaining about changes and wanted 2-3 changes in their own team. Rules are rules and I certainly congratulate Leicester for employing 4 Brits with 3 foreigners out -
Mountain's average is higher

Leicester Lions 2018

Leicester have done well there. All 4 of the new lads are an improvement imo -
Well, looks like if Swindon are to make changes they're literally left with the trash. May as well stick with what they've got I'd say.

Mid Season League Predictions
Daniel Smith replied to ReadingRacer2017's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'd say other way round. Poole were done once before when they were bottom, made changes and rocketed up the table. The Play-Offs were moved mid-season from 6 to 4 teams to stop Poole's chances. -
I still say there should be a payment cap with every rider in the league paid the same inc bonus points. Premiership - £100pp - £12 admission - No Concessions - Kids Free Championship - £50pp - £9 admission - No Concessions - Kids Free National League - £20pp - £7 admission - No Concessions - Kids Free The better talented rider's would still rise to the top and leave it to the rider's how they spend their money on equipment. Common sense may then prevail that they can profit just as well being a 2nd string on average equipment than the guy spending thousands at No1. That way eventually the costs on equipment slowly comes down to earn more money, even the No1's will soon realise.

1. Morris 8.43 2. Ellis 6.89 3. Nicholls 7.35 (Rye average) 4. Rasmus Jenson 4.55 5. Batchelor 8.32 6. Wajtknecht 4.00 7. Mountain 2.78 Total 42.32
-
Think Nicholls would also be converted Championship average. If so, a steal on 6.07.
-
Correct, to bring Connor in Swindon would have to be redeclared to 42.50

Regardless of the results, there's nothing stopping this being a cracking meeting. If the result is 60-30, if Leicester gate that means lots of passing for fun. There have been many many meetings that been excellent even though the losing team have been humiliated. At the same time, there's been many 46-44 meeting that hace been FTG. Every meeting has the potential to be a cracker or a stinker regardless of who v who.

Would come in on 2.78 average.

Josh Auty is 6.03. Has to come in on converted Championship average

Let's just push all the nonsense aside for this thread and think about what's happening. Are we witnessing a league that could potentially turn into one of the all time classics seasons ever. We're heading to the halfway point in the season and I can't ever remember a time when top and bottom have ever only been separated by a measly 8 points. King's Lynn go into this week with 2-3 matches in hand. Also on the other teams, 2-4 less home fixtures with 3 of their home fixtures to come in 7 days from next Monday. Leicester just need to find a "hot" reserve and they'll be back in it too. Belle Vue, Wolverhampton & Swindon are solid, Poole have bragged their backsides out of the gutter. On paper Somerset are the team to have punched above their weight but with the few changes they've made to their team (for the better) they could become formidable. Potentially, 2018, when looked back on could go down as "THE" greatest league challenge ever in British Speedway history.

King's Lynn fans are chuffed to see one of our own moving on up in the World but I hope they're not delusional enough to think being at King's Lynn has brought on this next step in his career. For me, it's moving to the 2nd tier in Poland (although with the same club due to promotion) and a more prominent role in Sweden. 2 far more competitive leagues than the British Premiership.

Are Poole’s team changes fair?
Daniel Smith replied to DC2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes it is fair and team changes should never be restricted -
Does anyone have a full rundown all the Premiership and Championship clubs promoters and how long they've been at the club's? I think once these new promotions get a vote we may see a changing of the guard.

Interesting of Swindon to run this when they can't even give any updates or hope to the fans that 2019 will exist for the Robins. This is a desperate attempt to bring in a crowd without even trying to fix any of the sports issues. An idea likely to have come out of the BSPA meeting Tuesday. An idea that can put people off for life with the current state of the Premiership. Maybe a last ditch attempt to the Swindon council that the new stadium will be viable. Either way, I think the club has got it's priorities wrong, just over 2 months of the 2018 season left and fan's are in limbo.
