Let's just push all the nonsense aside for this thread and think about what's happening. Are we witnessing a league that could potentially turn into one of the all time classics seasons ever. We're heading to the halfway point in the season and I can't ever remember a time when top and bottom have ever only been separated by a measly 8 points. King's Lynn go into this week with 2-3 matches in hand. Also on the other teams, 2-4 less home fixtures with 3 of their home fixtures to come in 7 days from next Monday. Leicester just need to find a "hot" reserve and they'll be back in it too. Belle Vue, Wolverhampton & Swindon are solid, Poole have bragged their backsides out of the gutter. On paper Somerset are the team to have punched above their weight but with the few changes they've made to their team (for the better) they could become formidable. Potentially, 2018, when looked back on could go down as "THE" greatest league challenge ever in British Speedway history.

King's Lynn fans are chuffed to see one of our own moving on up in the World but I hope they're not delusional enough to think being at King's Lynn has brought on this next step in his career. For me, it's moving to the 2nd tier in Poland (although with the same club due to promotion) and a more prominent role in Sweden. 2 far more competitive leagues than the British Premiership.

Are Poole’s team changes fair?
Daniel Smith replied to DC2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes it is fair and team changes should never be restricted -
Does anyone have a full rundown all the Premiership and Championship clubs promoters and how long they've been at the club's? I think once these new promotions get a vote we may see a changing of the guard.

Interesting of Swindon to run this when they can't even give any updates or hope to the fans that 2019 will exist for the Robins. This is a desperate attempt to bring in a crowd without even trying to fix any of the sports issues. An idea likely to have come out of the BSPA meeting Tuesday. An idea that can put people off for life with the current state of the Premiership. Maybe a last ditch attempt to the Swindon council that the new stadium will be viable. Either way, I think the club has got it's priorities wrong, just over 2 months of the 2018 season left and fan's are in limbo. I don't pay for that either, watch all that with my old man's sky and BT accounts I don't do any of that either

I save £80 a month by not bothering with Speedway

What I posted on Philip Rising's thread "NO WORD FROM THE BSPA" thread _________________________ Speedway needs someone with a bit of cash, offer a breakaway series with an independent governing body, all with the FIM/ACU approval and the SCB/BSPA can do f-all about it. The FIM/ACU must surely be able to see the the SCB/BSPA is one and the same and not fit for purpose and be disbanded. The ACU and FIM should really now get involved in the shambles that is British Speedway. A man with knowledge of the sport and is nowindependant of all clubs is Jonathan Chapman. Jonathan, the sport needs you and with a number of new promotions out there already not getting a vote at the BSPA would surely get your backing. Glasgow, Belle Vue, Rye House, Redcar, Sheffield and Leicester have shrewd, forward thinking people behind them. If you, Jonathan Chapman really do have some ideas that can bring the sport and their businesses into the 21st Century and give the punters something to support, now's the time to undercut the SCB/BSPA before the time is to late for all of us

That's the thing about a job, you have to work alongside colleagues you don't like but for the business you do the best you can. For the Stars, Garrity is as good as any as a replacement for Kerr. Bite the bullet and get on with it for the sake of the team. Nobody has had any issues with Jason at Scunthorpe and Belle Vue. In fact his character has had the opposite effect with what most fans and rider's comments about him. He may have turned a corner with his personality and become more grounded. I hope the promotion can see past the fact they may not like someone. It's their job to do what's best for the club and that's employing the best for the job. Garrity fits the bill
-
Looking at the numbers, with Stevie Worrall returning to the Aces line-up I wonder if the Stars management are looking to pick up Jason Garrity.
-
The only way Buster can really make a statement of intent is by redeclaration and Keeping Iversen, Lambert and Proctor. The problem is that when available, would you find better than Jorgensen and MPT?!? Kerr's average is one of those that can only really be replaced by a bang average rider. The management team really are between a rock and a hard place in this situation. I think continue as they are with R/R and hope there's no more injuries and fixture clashes with Denmark.
-
You won't get any top quality, rabbit out the hat for under a 6 average. Any replacement will be a run of the mill, 2nd string type rider. The options are a rider from the Championship, a Swede or Pole that don't compete in any top league's or try to convince Huckenbeck. Expectations have to be set low and hope any replacement just punches above their weight.
-
It's a no worse signing than continuing with Andersen. One thing you can guarantee with Simon is he can pop out the starts, upset a few rider's to the first and second turns. From his 3 rides, if the team can get 3-3's or even 4-2 negative all isn't lost. If we lose matches it's because some of the rest of the team haven't justified their current average.
-
The opposite, we could have used guests up to 4 points (5.20 Championship) but the club have regularly chosen poorer guest options. Originally the rule was to be that foreign rider's averages couldn't drop below 4 for team building but for replacements his actual average would be used (2.55 Prem & 3.32 Champ). The latter seems to have been dropped as Andersen's average should have been reassessed as he never completed 4h 4a fixtures but May 1st.
-
One thing brining in Lambert has confirmed is we can get a new 4 pointer or a Championship rider on a 5.20 or less. Gives the club breathing space to look around as guests in that position will be shocking. In terms of replacements for Kerr, I don't think running R/R will be all that bad. 1 of Jorgensen, Toft and Proctor will be at reserve and get 7 rides and all of those 3 are available for R/R. All more than capable cover, the team just has to remain injury free. Another injury and that WILL be season over.
-
The sport is on such hard times that apparently, next time I visit King's Lynn I'm gonna be "outted" and banned because of my views on the club.
-
Think when Iversen does 2 more home fixtures (If he available for selection before August ) there won't be much difference in the averages. His form has improved and Lambert's average constantly rising we have to look for replacements with Kerr's current average rather than trying to over complicate the situation. I think Bach would be a very good replacement, the only issue would be another rider with Danish commitments.
