  1. How about this for an idea. Have a 2 minute clock with the rules the same as GP's, Tapes up on 0 or excluded. Have a 20 meter zone from the start line back towards the 4th turn. Rider's cannot enter this zone until there's 15 seconds on the clock. The 2 minutes is then used for practice starts, clutch adjustments etc. Time saved all round
  2. Rules don't allow it as NBJ has British League experience. Foreign rider's have to be completely new to be No'8s
  3. Asked Rob Lyon. He confirmed No'8s can't be at reserve. If Jakobsen rides then Wilkinson moves into the 1-5.
  4. The 5th addition of the Home Straight Podcast https://www.acast.com/homestraight/episodefivefeaturingspecialguestniels-kristianiversen
  5. this is a good image of the stadium positioning http://swindonlink.com/2016/01/north-swindon-mp-justin-tomlinson-welcomes-submission-of-plans-for-new-swindon-robins-speedway-stadium/
  6. Those 3 on current form certainly wouldn't weaken an already strong SGP line-up As you say, Hampel & Sayfutdinov (If he wants it) are certs for SGP Wildcards. Think then what's outside the top 8 come October will decide the other 2 places. Saying that, I'd also like to see the 2 Laguta's given a shot Think it's come down to who has the better future in the sport. Also to gain experience against better riders away from his home tracks.
  7. I thought the new stadium should be on the existing site. Also remember, Belle Vue was 3-4 years overdue
  8. My 2 sets of 7 to qualify for the final, & my 3 qualifiers. Some more in hope than I believe they will mind Kenneth Bjerre Krzysztof Buczkowski Krzysztof Kasprzak Piotr Pawlicki Vaclav Milik Martin Vaculik Sam Masters Freddie Lindgren Joonas Kylmakorpi Bartosz Zmarzlik Patryk Dudek Tomas Jedrzejak Brady Kurtz Robert Lambert Freddie Lindgren Krzysztof Kasprzak Bartosz Zmarzlik
  9. How many qualify from the Semi's? How many from the Final?
  10. Riding in Denmark tonight. No idea about tomorrow night. He's committed to the season but will miss quite a few meetings.
  11. Would be madness to run the meeting, pretty wet out there and should remain the same right up to 6-7pm. Won't be just Troy complaining, Doyley is a bit of a whiner when it comes to wet too
  12. Also, the EDR guest must not have an established EL average either as per Poole & Stuart Robson's ban
  13. Agreed, next week I'm expecting 5 heats in an hour show with them wasting 15mins showing the top 10 keepy uppies
  14. We've heard similar regarding the Russians almost every year. I wouldn't count my chickens until race day
  15. People should be able to make opinion, good or bad about the sport. It's the constant point scoring posters have. "You said this, your wrong, I said this and I'm right". It then goes round and round and round in the hope that the opponent will fold. If you have a differing opinion that's fine but then just move on ffs. It's not difficult
  16. You can tell by his recent tweets what he wants, Leicester are a convenience to achieve a lowered average for PL in 2017.
  17. This Thursday's podcast is all about reintroducing promotion / relegation back into Speedway Special guest q&a is Niels Kristian Iversen. Any questions tweet @EDPHomeStraight by 4pm Wednesday
  18. Was he getting stick prior to the interview from the Swindon faithful for his performance? Quite likely and his response was reasonable if you ask me. He was like that when he was at King's Lynn in the Premier League. He got stick from the fans then, he'd always respond when chatting with Mike Bennett. Think it gives him much more respect to have the balls to front up imo.
  19. Don't think gangs should cause issue as U16's should be accompanied by an adult. Any issues then that adult becomes suspended. 17 and over turning up in gangs, bring it on. They've paid something Speedway wouldn't of got + it only takes 1 or 2 to start watching from a gang of 5 or 6 and things calm down naturally. Me personally, to make Speedway "sick" to the yoovz letting them loose is exactly the right thing to do. Putting a noose on them is what shouldn't be done.
  20. So, I take it you have no concept that everybody's different and we all should be as hard as nails like you?
  21. To a point speedway hasn't modernised enough but who are we to modernise too? When you look around today's stadiums I have no doubt 75% are over the age of 50. Speedway has no priorities to families. Some tracks do family tickets but these are restrictive i.e. 2 adults 2 children. What about single parents? What about a family that has 4 children? What about just 1 child? For me the priority for Speedway is modernising but this has to be modernising the pricing structure first and foremost.
  22. That's where Speedway has failed massively It could be £30 per adult entrance, that's actually irrelevant. The problem starts with those adults having children & having to also pay for your kids to get in. The option then becomes "we need to find something else to do". Now, I don't believe speedway should be charging up to 16 years old & no more than about £7 for full time & work placement students (17+) Elite League: Adult £18 Concessions £12 Full time students (17+) £5 Work Placement Students (17+) £7 16 & Under £0 We need to start with the pricing structure of Speedway for the future
  23. I've been off work on the sick for over a month and over that time my opinion has changed. I've watch s#!+ loads of old clips on youtube & Pathé in that time & it all seems very much the same as it is today. So, when did speedway stop being as good as it use to be? It hasn't, I've got older and because of that the focus in life changes. Just a natural process. Crowds are smaller because people have found better things to do with their entrance fee's because they've simply become bored. Smaller crowds have made meetings more boring regardless of the racing. It's as simple as that
