  1. Maybe the comments are taken out of context, maybe they're not. Either way they are not great reading. Does come across big headed. Just like Micheal Lee, the BSPA could make life very awkward for him and it doesn't sound like the German authorities want him kicking around their National squad either. At such a young age The talking should be done on track on a regular basis not from the mouth. If he knock in double figures week in week out then he can have his say. Good luck to the kid and all top rider's need that edge of arrogance, it's how you demonstrate it that's important. He got this slightly wrong, all part of the learning curve.
  2. So, the average is a more accurate picture to the viewing numbers. The Best Pairs over ran on it's schedule so half the viewing numbers could have been people tuning in for the next programme for example.
  3. FFS people, reality check time. It doesn't seem to matter who the commentators are for our sport you lot can't help yourselves but moan about it. Considering Jack Burnicle isn't a speedway man and thrown into the deep end by Eurosport he did a bloody good job. Best Pairs, SEC, SGP, SWC, British Elite League, Swedish Elitserien are all on UK screens this season. Couldn't give 2 sh!ytes who the commentators are, we have speedway on the box. This is what we've wanted for many of years yet you're still not happy. Jeez
  4. If that is it, that is truly amazing news Phil. Borowicz was out cold as Kolo had nowhere to go but hit him
  5. Just seen on a YouTube clip Janusz Kolodziej and Mateusz Borowicz involved in a horrendous crash tonight Tarnow v Leszno and can't find anywhere if these guys are ok. Hoping for the best for these guys and hope our Polish friends can keep us up to date
  6. Don't be frightened by whats happening here, embrace it. This could only have an up sell to your business as more people get to see the events. This could also mean more DVD sales not less. Bare in mind that also, betting sites are adult only and I should imagine most DVD sales would be for younger eyes to view. If you fear for your DVD sales then I would be concerned that you don't believe in your production qualities enough. Pretty much free advertising, give it a big cuddle.
  7. In your opinion I just Googled 'F1 drivers with tattoos' in images. Come back to me once you've had a look
  8. Agreed, teenage kicks has no place on the terraces with modern teenager's. That song hasn't aged well in my opinion, if there's a different more modernised version maybe but not the original
  9. Tai came across very well on Game Changers this morning. Seeing as it's based around kids none of them seemed put off by his physical appearance. He seemed to enjoy himself and isn't frightened to make an idiot of himself either. He really is the best thing Britain has had in the sport for decades and I've turned into a major fan of his.
  10. Obviously there are limitations regarding some clubs but it's down to them to come up with idea. Just because some clubs can't have airhorns doesn't mean the rest of the sport should follow suit And that alone is a major problem. We need the teens & early 20's to come in. The only way to do that is to make sure it's enjoyable. I don't care what anyone says, the racing alone will never achieve that. We need to create a whole package from 7pm to 10pm, no gaps / dead spots. Does every genre need to be covered? I don't think so. When you look at most people, especially the older generation they generally just have a good old chin wag during breaks. For me, music is for the younger generation to enjoy. Again, keeping them interested with filling gaps. With the music, before and after races it has to be up beat high tempo stuff. Once the 2 mins is hit there should be classic tense music. At King's Lynn they've done this occasionally and it does bring people's focus back to race time.
  11. King's Lynn's main rivals are Peterborough & Ipswich. Reason is they're close and they're shyte. Always plenty of banter when the 2 teams clash (not always friendly). Always check for their results and love it when they get battered. It's just a great shame they're both in different leagues. One thing is certain though, I'd never want one of these tracks to close down. In terms of rivalry in the Elite League today, the only little bit of bitterness remains with Birmingham but that has only filtered over from both our Premier League days. Some decent clashes and war of words between clubs management. Other than that it's all hugs and kisses
  12. I've mentioned this on the Lynn v Gora thread. It peez me of with how boring the atmosphere at tracks is. I think atmosphere is the one thing that WILL bring people back. An awesome atmosphere makes a bad meeting ok and puts smiles on faces. This is where speedway right now is: Sh!te presentation Sh!te presenters Sh!te music Sh!te tracks Sh!te racing =Sh!te atmosphere What I'd do: Theme nights for spectators Music & presenters to include crowd interaction Cheaper airhorns, speedway is about noise Get the fans to bring a football / Polish speedway style singing crowd (I'd so be into this) How likely is this? 0. Promoters are only interested in taking and 0 giving back
  13. Agree to a point but what can be said is it's another venue on the calendar that is enclosed and protected from mother nature & a 50,000+ capacity. This is great for the GP's & I should imagine this will replace Torun as the final round on the calendar. Will be a sell out I have no doubt
  14. I watched the ice speedway the other day and the guy commentating on there is dull and I switched it off. The commentator has to have a little bit of enthusiasm for the viewer to enjoy it
  15. Is that Matt Williamson face planted in 169 and is he ok? Awkward looking photo
  16. Getting better though, there is a more mature but youthful exuberance exploding out of their posts. Good working progress
  17. I find it crazy that anyone would advocate reintroducing AirFences down the straights after the accidents in the past. It's very dangerous Similar crashes do happen on the bends but most of the speed is scrubbed off and the safety on the bends far outweighs the negatives with high speed crashes.
  18. Minimum weight regulation is 77kg + 1% to include fuel
  19. Thanks for that PolskiZuzel, good read & appreciated. There's a couple of comments in there to get the forum BNP going
  20. Agree, he certainly isn't the first World class rider to disappear from the sport because of finances and won't be the last (I know he's not completely gone but his statement suggests it's close) and I really hope the lad can switch it around. We all forget he lost his old man last year and rode through it. We know how it fried Woffy but with Emil he'd also had financial difficulties to deal with. Losing his hero, financial trouble & outside influences chomping in his ear would make anyone reevaluate their circumstances. Also, any rider finishing top of the chasing 15 is well worth a World title every time.
  21. The problem is the response is always the same, nothing different. We keep getting we're having to have to trust their word and some pathetic mock up drawing's a teenager can knock up in minutes on a PC. We & more importantly the Belle Vue fans are at the point where hard evidence is required or give the genuine people who have put their hard earned in their money back. The longer it goes on the more expensive this project becomes and I believe more damaging to Belle Vue itself. Even if approved today you'd still be looking at the 2016 season for the grand opening.
  22. Should imagine Rory is the same. Lives in Coventry, married with his children being schooled here also. He never has VISA issues like the other Aussies so I'd imagine he has UK citizenship
  23. http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/3165/british-switch-for-schlein Personally I think this is about personal gain, as I says about Germany and the GP qualifiers but I certainly would be pleased if Rory decided to get outings for TeamGB. It's not like this hasn't happened in the past with some World class Australian's and New Zealander's. Personally, I think he could help drive up the standard of our British lads as it becomes more difficult for them to then get it. Right now we have Woffy & Bomber, after that the quality is much of a muchness. Cook, Barker, Worrall, Bridger etc there isn't much between them. Including Rory will upset some but that means with the Brits they'd have to up their game. Thought's?
  24. Agree, the longer the current promotion are in their current home any finances gained to fund the new stadium will be frittered away having to fund the current setup. Just can't see Belle Vue turning any profits over the last few seasons since the proposed move. If I was a brick owner I'd be chasing to get my money back while I could. Although, this would be catch 22 as any money paid back would send the club into melt down I'm sure.
