  1. I would also suggest that those who rock up to the track while on holiday on the island won’t really care what competition they’re watching as long as they have a good night out.
  2. Well written article I thought.
  3. It won’t be until clubs know exactly how many people they are allowed to let in.
  4. I think we all know the answer to that one.
  5. £20 is my limit, if a booking fee takes it above that I won’t be going!
  6. Perhaps but in this day and age most people can literally stand outside a venue and purchase an e ticket on their phone in a couple of minutes. I believe Lynn are selling a limited number of tickets on the night for 2021 for those unable to purchase online, this seems a sensible move.
  7. Yep that’s fair enough. Lynn’s interaction with their supporter base has been basic at best for some time now. In slight mitigation I would argue that Norfolk folk are quite laid back, fairly easily pleased and content to wait until ‘nearer the time’ in general but I agree that Lynn as a club could get more information out more often as a rule.
  8. Funnily enough I was thinking about this this morning in the context of the IOW, I think it will work very well for them particularly in the holiday season but despite attending loads of challenge matches and individuals back in my younger days (late 80’s and 90’s mainly) they just don't do anything for me nowadays, you don’t get anywhere near the sense of anticipation or buzz where there aren’t league points or something meaningful to be raced for. The only exception I guess is the Peter Craven Memorial at the NSS, I’ve been lucky enough to attend that two or three times and because it’s the first meeting and the track is second to none it works for me. Just think generally you lose that edge if it’s not a league, cup or Play Off meeting.
  9. Lynn have tweeted a few times in the last couple of weeks about May 17th and the two most detailed ones (one linked to a story on the club website) suggest that they are waiting for confirmation (presumably from the local council) to ‘finalise plans’ which surely has to be about what they can and can’t do for a speedway meeting in the stadium and most importantly how many people are allowed in. Until this has happened I don’t think there is a lot more they can do.
  10. Tickets will be ‘limited’ but going by that the number of people wanting a ticket is highly unlikely to reach that limit.
  11. You would suspect that Buster probably doesn't yet know exactly how many folk he can let in and that’s probably why no prices or tickets have been released yet.
  12. I can understand the concerns on here but making the event all ticket (however they are sold) and getting people in and out of the stadium safely really shouldn't be difficult in the twenty first century, especially in arenas as vast as Lynn, the EoES and the Foxhole. It’s going to be different for punters but should t be rocket science. As for tickets it should be straightforward to sell them online and either print at home or produce an e ticket on a smartphone, or for those who prefer to purchase over the phone and collect on the evening from a specified location at the stadium, or buy them in person prior to the meeting.
  13. Early meetings will surely be all ticket, it’s the only way it can be IMO. And with theatres etc opening that day surely BoJo et al will be making things clear over that weekend rather than during the day on the Monday? I wouldn’t be surprised if early meetings get pushed back but as it stands there is no reason this should t go head with some kind of crowd. The figures are very low currently.
  14. This is looking more and more like a Polish series as we had last year the longer time goes on
  15. Yep this season has been even better than two years ago, much less gung ho and tighter at the back but sublime going forward. Recruitment has been spot on and absolutely has to be the same in the summer as last time in the PL the signings were poor.
  16. Generally Nodge have kept season ticket prices the same I believe whether promoted or relegated, they’ve always been pretty good at that. Casual ticket prices do go up and down but depend on opposition anyway. Just a point on Saturday semmers assuming Swans and Brentford both win at lunch time! I accept that but how difficult would it be for speedway promoters to have a quick clean of the facilities before a meeting and make sure soap, bog roll etc is replenished?
  17. If anything beneficial comes out of all of this it might be speedway venues being forced to drag their toilet facilities into the 21st century.
  18. Not only riding but all scoring pretty well too. The future is brighter than it’s been for a long, long time.
  19. My first Lynn away meeting was at the Foxhole in Good Friday in 1992, the morning match was rained off and we travelled to Suffolk more in hope than expectation of seeing some racing but they’d had hardly any rain and Lynn won 48-42 secured by a last heat 5-1 from Gustafsson and Brhel, happy days. Top flight bank holiday meetings would be great but I don’t see it happening in the foreseeable future with fixed race nights etc. Buster would run cars at Lynn anyway for the extra income and I don’t really blame him.
  20. Can’t see that it really matters if he’s working for both to be honest, maybe it’s just me. Quite likely there is little geographical overlap anyway. More concerned about actually getting on track with spectators, should be a given with such low numbers of cases and deaths being declared now but with the way it’s all been handled who knows
  21. Nope just based on age, getting through people quickly in this part of the world. Six or seven weeks until the start of the season, pretty likely some riders will have had it by then I’d have thought.
